Best opticians, been going about 40 years now, mostly to the Egham Branch but now no longer. Addlestone is most acceptable and staff second to none.

I was a customer of this company over two decades now, however they arfe still as good as ever: all are very professional, friendly, helpful ....the list goes on and on.
I recently had my contact lenses appointment(I am not on a contract at the moment) to be able to find a solution for both distance and reading…as I don’t like wearing glasses…
The optician (Victoria) was very thorough, professional and patient to my needs. It took me over three months( as I asked to have a longer time to decide) trying and alternating a variable lenses until I (together with my optician) was totally happy with my choice of multifocal lenses!
The receptionist Mia and other members of the team (my branch is in Addlestone) were very helpful in many other ways too – nothing was too much to ask!

I have been using Leightons in Addlestone for some time now and have never had any issues whatsoever until my last appointment early this November. I booked an eye test in the usual way and attended as normal but the atmosphere was different this time. I sat down and was immediately told 'I wasn't due an eye test for another six months'. I apologised and explained that I couldn't remember the last time I'd been, so booked the appointment just in case. I felt like a naughty little boy! The eye test took place but it wasn't exactly pleasant. No pleasantries, no smiles, no chat! Not what I've been used to in every other appointment I've had there. I was led to the receptionist who garbled my prescription details to me of which I said I would have a think about what to do next. Again, no niceities, no smiles, just the payment machine thrust upon me. I left, quite deflated and will probably take my prescription to a different opticians now. I am not saying it was a bad experience, just not what I have been used to in the past and I'm also not saying any medical appointment should be a barrel of laughs but I do feel it's important to at least be made to feel welcome and crack a smile at least once!
The prescription was wrong so had to have a re-test, then the 2nd person who assessed the glasses said the 1st person had not properly fitted them so I was asked to come back a week later for the new glasses updated with revised prescription and a better fitting (Albert insisted on him doing it - he was v good).
However, turned up a week later to be told Albert wasnt in and I couldn’t re-book him as he is a locum and I would have to wait approx 1 hour for someone else! I asked to speak to the Manager to be told the Addlestone branch doesn’t have one (!) and to call Head Office - tried Head Office but after being on hold for 30 minutes (!) I gave up. Really regretting using them

I am not a patient at this optician but asked if it would be possible to replace the nose pads on my specs, not only did they do it right away, they did it for free, such great service restores your faith in human kindness

I visited Leightons opticians in Addlestone after not having much success from another opticians. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for me making my experience exceptional.

I have been with Leightons opticians for several years now and they’ve always given great customer service, but today was outstanding.
I visited first thing in the morning b without an appointment because I had got something in my eye overnight which I couldn’t get out. It was extremely irritating and sore and no amount of prodding, poking or washing made any difference. They saw me straight away and I immediately went for an eye exam. With some expert help, the optician managed to remove the tiniest piece of grit. I cannot tell you the relief I felt. I am so grateful to the team for fixing me and would have no doubt in recommending them to everyone, brilliant customer service!

My family have been using Leightons for many years.
These days, it is so nice to be using a family run business rather than a franchise. The reason being is the higher levels of customer service they provide and they really take care of you. All eye tests are explained in detail and advice re the merits of each.
No hard sell re. tests or indeed when choosing new glasses. They email me with new offers and reminders of due appointments.
Overall, my family would never go anywhere else and this is 100% due to their personal service.

Also new suggestions for dry eye problem which seem to have greatly reduced issue

Very thorough and professional service, which I would highly recommend. Only downside was new glasses took over a week longer to arrive than was first advised, though delay handled well.

I was having trouble with my right ear which got cleaned out nicely. I was a bit disappointed that £95 only covered one ear though.

I have been using the Leightons branch at Egham for some years until unfortunately that branch closed down. For convenience I used a more local optician last time, but I have not been happy with the service I received or the glasses they supplied. The eye test was rushed as if the optician was running late or trying to squeeze extra patients in, and the reading area of the verifocal lenses has always been blurred. So, this time I travelled further to Leightons in Addlestone and I am extremely pleased that I did. The eye test was comprehensive, well explained and conducted in a thoughtful and measured way. The new glasses are so much better than the previous ones. I am more than happy with all aspects of the service and would thoroughly recommend Leightons Addlestone.
