We submitted our claim for our cat. After getting some details about his visit to the vet, they approved and said the money wound be sent over soon. I haven't checked yet, but I'd imagine it's already... See more

Do not go with this insurance company if you plan to DRIVE YOUR CAR. I did not perform my due diligence when assessing my potential monthly costs with this company as they charge you extra fees per mile driven. For me, it was $0.642/mile driven and I was charged over $1000 to $1200 per month, which is absolutely insane for just using my car for its intended purpose. This company punishes you for literally driving your own car. However, if you only plan to have your car take up space on the street, your garage, or driveway, and you never plan to move it, then by all means go with this insurance if you don't ever intend to use your car for what it is (a car). I also did not receive an actual response from a real person to explain why my charges were so high. This is 100% a predatory business model.

Claims process was simplified, and very fast to receive amount due. Very impressed with the communication to give updates of the process cycle to process the claim. And to say “very concerned” of my dogs well being.

I made my claim near midnight on a Saturday and was paid the full claim amount on Monday. The claim process was very easy and straightforward.

I have pet insurance through Lemonade. The process to file a claim is very easy and only takes a few minutes on the app. All of the claims I have filed have been handled quickly and I have gotten a direct deposit within a couple of days.

I have used Lemonade for years as pet insurance and they have always been great for routine visits and vaccines. This past week I needed to use the emergency insurance and the claim process was just as easy and quick. I truly appreciate the quick processing and refund because emergency visits and follow-up testing is quite expensive.

I pay almost $80 a month and the coverage is substandard. I went in for a checkup for my little chihuahua and found she needs dental extractions. Lemonade states they do not cover dental disease unless you pay EXTRA for additional insurance… most pet insurance offers this as baseline coverage. What am I paying almost $80 a month for? I am extremely disappointed and will be switching soon.

We just signed up for Lemonade and have already had great experiences. We have two puppies they were going through their Wellness and shots. Lemonade app was very easy to use.

I pay 88.00 a month, I get the vet bill at 254.00 and you covered 128.00, I think I'm better off with out pet ins or just to emergency and wellness only.

Overall, Lemonade is a great insurance company for pet insurance. claims are easy to file, and payments are quick.
Only downside is their payout rates, especially regarding the wellness plans. everyone know how much vaccines and treatments cost, and Lemonade will charge you large amount for wellness, but their highest plan will cover less than 50% of the costs for these items. Makes it seem not worth it for an "all-in" pet insurance. For example, a 6-month supply of flea/tick is roughly $190. Lemonades highest wellness plan will only cover $75 for the entire year, so basically if you have year round coverage, you're still paying over $200. Same thing with vaccines. I had a regular annual checkup that totaled close to $800, and lemonade only covered roughly $175.
Again, the claims are quick to file and receive, but they pocket most of your money.

Lemonade outsourced my simple, clear and small claim to Home Options, a 'claims handling service'. They were rude and tried to intimidate me, repeatedly asking me the same questions. An absolute disgrace, eventually I resorted to threatening to issue a County Court claim - and surprise surprise, they caved in an paid my claim

Recently I had to make a claim as my oven glass smashed, Lemonade insurance were very helpful from start to finish, with the claim settled in less than a week.
Would highly recommend

The app makes everything seem easy, but trust that it’s only like that in the beginning. Whenever you need help you A)Don’t get a response within a reasonable time frame B) by a real person or both. When a person reaches out they will either send you information you clearly already have, or tell you they can’t help you.
You can’t customize dates of policy or payments, and then if you’re late you get repeatedly harassed via email and text every 2-3 days saying not paying is going to ruin your credit report etc. and it’s not something you can unsubscribe from.
When I first got their car insurance, they mailed me a defective device and FYI they do not coordinate with you at all on delivery or timing. So if you have special delivery instructions, they wouldn’t know or care. If you’re not home during the time the device is delivered, they will repeatedly send threats that your insurance price will go up if you don’t install it immediately.
Naturally, I wasn’t home when mine arrived so this was the case for me: daily emails threatening to up the price if I don’t plug it in. When I finally did install their car insurance device, it didn’t work! It took no less than 15-20 emails to get it resolved? They repeatedly sent me the same instructions, clearly didn’t read my emails which made it clear that the device WASN’T working.
Once I received a working device, it still was and is difficult to see the mileage and how it’s being calculated. So even if you’re claim free, driving safely etc. they will still charge you an astronomical price for driving more than usual in a billing cycle. So if you’re constantly working and driving to said work one month, all the extra money you’re earning will…go to your next bill.
Read the room. Maybe, if you started I don’t know…doing something other than nothing? And taking customer feedback and making the app more human this might be halfway decent. Get your insurance elsewhere.
Update: they decided to send me passive aggressive response to my question “what is the absolute last day I can pay X since you do not offer payments plans?”
No answer to my question. Just an obtuse threat of, “we have a right to report to credit bureaus”. Pardon me? Do not give your business to this company. Years ago, when I first opened a renters policy with them I thought I had discovered a gem of a company. I was wrong.

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a pet insurance policy let alone any insurance policy I’ve had for myself. it took almost 3 months to deny my only two claims with them to say it was preexisting. Alyssa who was in charge of my claim was so unprofessional and lacks knowledge in the customer service field. She read the same three lines off of a screen over and over to me when I was looking for answers and a more personable conversation regarding my Pom”s claims. I had to speak to higher ups to complain about her which I don’t think they will even do anything about her horrible service. all in all I wasted my time and energy for them to deny two visits as they say they are preexisting conditions. I had to contact my own vets office at least four to five times to have them resend and resend records I basically did their job for them. lazy and incompetent and all that time later denied both. Healthy Paws was way better and so much better service. horrible job by Lemonade and Alyssa who was in charge of my claim. I canceled my policy. waste of time and money!!!!!!
