Extremely rude customer service. The customer service rep hung up the phone on me. She said “I’m trying to help you but you don’t seem to understand so that’s all for now. Goodbye”.

Meanwhile her explanations around my request lacked depth other than quoting a policy. She was not in fact trying to help me.

The inspection was very thorough. The inspector took good images and received the report the end of the next business day. I ended up purchasing the vehicle and I'm very satisfied.

They are good and relatively quick to schedule appointments to check vehicles for sale that are out of town and inconvenient for me. The report is fairly comprehensive and they take lots of pictures. The reasons I did not give 5 stars is 1) I sent questions about the report. They said they will respond but never did. 2) Some pictures are kinda fuzzy or out of focus. Such as showing the motor oil on the dipstick. It's so out of focus I can't see where the oil line is or even the color of the oil. The tech should check his picture and retake if it's not good.

Even with those problems, the report is enough to help me make buy or not decisions.

An absolute comical and borderline criminal service.

I used Lemon Squad for a pre-purchase inspection on a 2023 vehicle in Huntsville, AL and the entire experience felt completely disconnected from the urgency of actually buying a car. Anyone who has purchased a vehicle, especially out of state, knows that timing and immediacy are incredibly important. Deals move fast. Inventory disappears quickly. Waiting days for basic information is unacceptable.

There was no clear way to track documentation, understand when the inspector would actually arrive, or know when the report would be published. Communication was vague throughout the process and left me chasing updates instead of focusing on the purchase itself.

What pushed this experience over the edge was being told by a representative that the inspection report would not be posted until THREE FULL DAYS after the inspection. Their website states reports are typically delivered the next morning. That kind of delay completely defeats the purpose of paying for a pre-purchase inspection service in the first place.

At that point, what exactly are customers paying for besides a middleman?

Do yourself a favor: go local and call a trusted mechanic directly. Support small businesses and professionals in the actual community instead of paying inflated fees to a national middleman operation with poor communication and zero urgency.

I would never use Lemon Squad again and would strongly caution anyone relying on them during a time-sensitive vehicle purchase.

Everything went smoothly from order to report, but we a classic car order is placed one very important item that needs to be looked at is body lines and gaps on doors and hood, I just received the truck that was inspected and there was no report on body lines and gaps to make me aware, upon arrival there is misalignment of drivers door and front fender and hood that would have been nice to know before purchasing the truck and that is very important in a classic vehicle purchase.

Lemon squad did just fine. As advertised, they did the kind of once-over that an informed buyer might do, but not the kind of PPI you’d get from a mechanic in a shop. There were, however, easy things they didn’t do, like measure paint thickness, or report EV battery health from the code scanner. Adequate job, just dramatically overpriced.

I was pleased with the ease of scheduling and paying for the evaluation. The report covered all the important areas of concern. The report was typed , entered and reviewed for me (the customer to read in less than 24 hours once the inspector of the car assessed the car. I really appreciate the 99 photos which was very helpful since I am about 8 states away. The report gave me a much better peace of mind purchasing a car "sight unseen" to me. Thank you. I highly recommend their assessment service. The cost is well justified.

Easy process, detailed inspection / report.

Lemon Squad did an overall good job with the inspection, but there were a few areas that left me a bit disappointed. The report felt very generic in its description of the vehicle’s condition—I was expecting more detailed insights, especially for a pre-purchase inspection.

Additionally, the timeframe they quoted wasn’t accurate, and the inspector ended up arriving a day later than scheduled to look at the vehicle.

Not a bad experience overall, but there’s definitely room for improvement in communication and report detail.

I have had nothing but high praise to give regarding my experience with the Lemon Squad. The report was very detailed and all concerns noted on the report was accurate. I had the best experience and confidence in purchasing a used vehicle than I have ever experienced. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking to purchase a used vehicle and want to make sure that they are not buying a lemon.

Mechanic missed a leaking valve cover gasket and a grinding rear differential
