Avoid Leon Paul

Their customer service is as bad as their equipment.
Ordered a epee that upon arrival turned out to be defective. Of course sent the epee back which cost 400 Swedish kronor. After about a week and a half of waiting we are trying to get hold of Leon Paul, to get a status on the epee, since it is a very expensive epee we have ordered.
Not a sound from them, they do not respond to email or via social media or their chat on the website. 2 weeks now without a word from Leon Paul
At this point we have given up and just wanted our money back…. Finaly and, at least they managed to give us 80% back....Rip off
We will NEVER recommend Leon Paul to anyone. Rather advise against them
CLEARLY THE WORST COMPANY IN THIS SPORT….

From one star to (nearly) five

Following a sub-optimal encounter with customer support, I left a one star review. Subsequently, I was contacted by the commercial director who went above and beyond to resolve the situation. Within less than 24 hours my order had arrived in good order. I can't complain about the service I received from him. His efforts warrant a five star review, I have only dropped a star as the issues shouldn't really have arisen in the first instance.

Avoid carbon blades like the plague

For the foil carbon blade, Leon Paul states on their website:
“Designed with durability as a priority, this blade represents great value for money”

I spent £90 on a foil with Leon Paul with the carbon blades.
It broke in 3 months of light semi weekly use. Many of the other fencers at my club brought the same and they have all broken. Our club has banned them as they’re so dangerous.

This is not satisfactory quality as expected in trading standards for safety and durability.

They have not answered my complaint after 2 weeks and myself and others are considering reporting to trading standards and proceeding with small claims court.

Most of the other products I have brought from them were okay, but avoid the carbon blade and don’t get ripped off like we have.

Generally a non-useful customer service…

Generally a non-useful customer service pr mail. Takes up to a week to reply, and because of quotations mistakes my order-support now runs on the 3rd. week and I am left with an impression of water time and no prioritization. Furthermore their phoneservice does not accept call from outside UK.

Never in doubt

As a niche sport, the quality and consistency of fencing brands vary dramatically. Leon Paul is the outlier. It always delivers top quality equipment and seamless customer service, in my experience. From its cheapest to most expensive products, Leon Paul always feels premium.

It can be pricier than competitors, but you get what you pay for. You can shop around for cheaper alternatives and do just fine, but Leon Paul guarantees quality and a hassle-free experience .

I am surprised about their incompetence

I am surprised about their incompetence. Two orders, and both with crossborder shipping problems. Regardless of you buy stuff from their eshop in Germany, packages are sent from UK and stall in Germany customs for weeks due to badly prepared papers. Customer support is totally useless, not responding, no excuse, no compensation. This was last time we buy their equipment.

Their customer service leaves a lot to…

Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I switched brands just because of it. Allstar is super awesome and their customer service is supper. Maybe Leon Paul is too large now they just don't care or maybe their reps do not care but just an awful experience. They lost a customer for life and believe me I let my mates know. As a business owner it matters who represents your company.

Great!

This is my favourite shop to buy fencing equipment as comparing to Allstar and PBT, it's one of the cheapest and higher quality than the other brands.

absolutely fantastic service

we popped in to buy some kit and left fully loaded with lots of shiny new toys and bags to carry them in. Bea was very patient and took the time to fit the masks, so a big thank you to her. All in all it was a great experience and everything that you would expect from Leon Paul.
