Awful Service at Leroy Merlin

We've been regular shoppers at Leroy Merlin Loulé since since they opened. However there are issues that have not improved in that time which has effectively forced us to shop at alternative stores. Firstly whenever we had a product question we always had to search around the store for an attendant & often waited for 5-30 minutes or more before being served. The frustration was made worse when groups of 3-5 Leroy Merlin staff would saunter past laughing or talking whilst we waited for service. The same applies at the checkout tills. Very often there were only one or two checkouts open whilst a long queue of 10-20 clients waited for service. There are auto checkouts but when we went to use one of them we looked for the English translation option as they have in Ikea, Banks, Pharmacies etc. but the attendant said "they don't translate tills to English because they're a French company". I looked incredulously at the checkout attendant as I thought she was joking but she was absolutely serious! I've since been told by other attendants that this is in fact true.

Never buy online because they are not able to refund.

I saw the offer of Japanese stepping stones at the shop in Caldas da Rainha, these could only be ordered online and collected from the shop within a few days. After 8 weeks, the message that the order was no longer available and the payment will be refunded. A day later the offer to deliver the bricks for a hefty extra payment (extra transport costs). How customer unfriendly do you want to be as a company. Clearly stated that I want my payment back, unfortunately they don't get that done. So I am not surprised they only get 1 star. Never experienced such amateurism before.

Not impressed.

pergola ancolie is tat. Unseasoned, untreated wood. I think 234 euros with delivery is not nothing.
But im also not impressed with leroy merlin as it seemed impossible to put poor feedback on their site. Kept getting technical error messages. Deliberate?

Ordered a chest of drawers

Ordered a chest of drawers, delivery never happened on the 3 days delivery window. no email or contact telling me it wouldn't be delivered. Requested a refund, no email or contact confirming I would get a refund. I had used the chest of drawers as test to see how they would perform. I have a whole new house and garden to buy furniture and equipment for. I will be spending the thousands of Euro in another store that is more honest.

No delivery and no updates!

I made my order for delivery on 09.06. Today is 16.06 and there is no news whatsoever regarding the delivery and it´s impossible to reach customer service. I do not recommend ordering online from them.

3 months and counting! Where is the rest of my order?

I only hope that customers out there will read these reviews and take note! I have had repeated deliveries turn up with damaged goods or frankly not turn up at all. Days and days wasted waiting in for goods that never arrive. Then they say “you weren’t in” - I’ve no idea if deliveries have been attempted or not because you never a) let me know b) ring or email me! The store (Loule) refuse to give out a customer services number. The stat response is send an email - that will be the emails they NEVER respond to! My contact in store is now refusing my calls and messages. They flatly refuse to allow you to collect goods yourself, I’ve no idea why. The online portal says items are in stock, arrive at store and they’re not. Sort yourselves out! Plus I’m still waiting on one refund for damaged goods from 3 years ago! I’ve written that off! Where is the Loule store manager? More importantly where is the head of Leroy Merlin? You should be ashamed!

Air Conditioning survey and installation.

Mixed Experience with Leroy Merlin Loule - Great Store, but Contractor Issues.
My recent experience with Leroy Merlin in Loule for a replacement air conditioning system has left me with mixed feelings. While the initial in-store service and product selection were impressive, significant issues arose during the installation phase, leading to unexpected delays and costs.

The Loule store itself is expansive, offering a good selection of products, and the sales representatives are knowledgeable about what they sell. I was particularly drawn in by a promotional deal on an air conditioning system that offered substantial savings, making the overall package very appealing.

However, this is the second project I've organised with Leroy Merlin, and unfortunately, both times, the contractors provided for fitting the products fell short of expectations. For this air conditioning installation, a survey that we paid for proved to be incorrect, failing to identify two major issues. This oversight directly led to long delays and incurred extra, unforeseen third-party costs, which was very frustrating.

In summary, based on my experiences with Leroy Merlin, if you're working with a strict budget and are prepared to accept some compromises on the quality of workmanship during installation, then it might be a suitable option. However, if your expectation is for a high level finish, flawless execution and workmanship, this is definitely not the place to go. Ultimately, it feels like you truly get what you pay for.

Ordered 4 x black loungers…

Ordered 4 x black loungers (FT20250120401/006932) on March 27th and paid for delivery. Loungers delivered and after unwrapping, 1 was badly scratched. Difficult to arrange for a replacement but finally delivered on May 30th. We were not able to receive the replacement, so a friend accepted delivery. Inspected the replacement lounger this morning to find the fabric torn away from the frame! Is it not common sense to check before delivery! It is becoming comical and I am not going through the whole customer service debacle again! Please contact me directly to resolve.

Extremely Poor Delivery Experience with Logisimple – Impact on Leroy Merlin Customer Loyalty

I have been a loyal Leroy Merlin customer for 13 years, but I am incredibly disappointed with the delivery service I recently received. This was the third time Logisimple has handled my deliveries, and all three times have been a disaster. This latest delivery was especially unacceptable, with a driver who was not only rude but had a terrible attitude.

While I understand that Leroy Merlin itself is not at fault, the delivery handled by Logisimple has been consistently awful. Due to this repeated poor service, I will never order again, despite my long-standing relationship with Leroy Merlin.

I urge Leroy Merlin to reconsider their delivery partners to prevent further disappointment for loyal customers like myself.

Never Again

Ordered garden furniture on 10th April 2025. Due for delivery 15th April. Part delivery arrived yesterday. 2 chairs missing. All boxes damaged and opened. Table broken. Just opened the box with the chairs in and they are broken too

I have nothing but good experiences…

I have nothing but good experiences with Leroy Merlin. Good selection of products at reasonable prices. The staff are mostly helpful but I must say that it is sometimes very hard to find someone or there are big queues for help. For this reason, I'm only giving 3 stars instead of 4.

We spent €2K on a Pergola in the online…

We spent €2K on a Pergola in the online shop. Its delivery was getting late so we tried to track it.
We were informed that the Pergola was lost in transit by SEUR and no others were available for 3 months.
The space for the Pergola had already been planned and was being built. In the end (over a month later) there are no alternatives available through L.M.
We are still waiting for a refund through their process. I am forced to visit a branch personally.

The shop staff

The shop staff, the younger ones, are rude and unhelpful. I heard a girl talking to a man in English, I waited my turn and asked her a question. She said 'I don't speak English' and walked away.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience: mistake after mistake, they don't reply to emails or calls, false promises, failed deliveries, do not follow the dates that they promise, broken items on deliveries. Aftert months, we still can't finalise our project.
Seriously, do not start a project with them. You will regret it!

Possibly one of the worst experiences…

Possibly one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a major company.

Over 5 months back and forth with customer services, providing a solution for their mistake, to only be ignored as their subcontractor wasn’t able to offer a good solution. Eventually went with my original solution, only to never show up to fix the problem!?

Fittings missed at my expense, having taken days off work and no one showing!

All I did was pay my invoice, pay for a measurement service, to ensure job was done correctly, which is where mistake was made, only to be told it was my fault! NEVER BUY FROM LEROY MERLIN, WASTE OF TIME AND EFFORT!!!!

Stay away from this place

Stay away from this place. The home project staff, due to demand, treats you with perfect contempt; it's their way or the highway. And if you dare to cancel the project after too many delays and lack of any flexibility, they punish you when you want to use part of the budget you paid for to move forward with a specific project component. Also, they make money on all the materials they stuff your project with, so if you need a custom kitchen go to Conforama Premium Kitchens - better quality, no price bloating with materials for assembly, and great service. If you need appliances, go to Worten because their delivery service is exceptional, flexible, and they always check in on delivery and also ask for reviews. Merlin uses CTT. Demand may be on Merlin's side right now, but poor customer service, arrogant home project staff, and inability to provide feedback will sink this horrid business. Experienced in the Setubal shop.
