It takes a certain type of person to be…

It takes a certain type of person to be in such a kind, caring and selfless roll.

That's why it's important to have excellent management!
Management that are supportive of there staff.

Unfortunately K.P.I's and money come before all staff and service users.

People do not leave the job/role.

They leave management.

Please give your time to a co.pany that will appreciate and value you or find out the hard way with lifeways.

Neglect/Financial Abuse

If you have a family member who needs support, stay far away from this company, they neglect and financially abuse their clients, i have proof of all of this and have raised my concerns to the social services, as the lad who I know has had people using him for the past 3 years and staying in his house and using it as a drug den, he has had 2 dogs abandoned in his house and his staff never did anything about it I had to sort it all out for him, there's been times he's been left without food and his staff just leave him and I've had to feed him. Avoid this company!!!! He only gets 1 hour a week support and no doubt they are claiming more that 1 hour a week. They just use vulnerable people for their own gain. I told their manager Julie that I have raised all my concerns the other day now they are trying to cover everything up and be there for him. He wants out that company but they just try keep him there.

Great staff

A family member is supported by lifeways and their staff, she’s loving it where she is, I can’t fault the management or staff where she’s based, everything is done and the support she gets is brilliant.

How is this company still around?

I joined this company in 2014. Enthusiastic, willing and wanting to help. After one week of classroom training ( I was qualified) the training had no quality.. more on legal requirements on what you can't do or say. I did one year and have to say that the management were atrocious, did not care about the people they were meant to be looking after and it was extremely dangerous to work for them. Avoid... pls.. avoid ..

Avoid at any cost.

They are the most pathetic people I have come across in my life. Better to avoid them at any cost. The staff working there is a bunch of miserable people.

Avoid Lifeways if you can

Four reviews for this company - all one star ones, and yet their rating is 2.5 stars? How does that work then? This is a terrible company. They charge (or did when it affected us) £10 per week for acting as appointee with DWP for those in their supported lving placements; they make residents pay for a meal or drink if the resident eats while out and about; their person centredness is totally non existent. Staff can be great or not so great, but it's not uncommon to visit during the day when maybe one resident is on the premises and find three or four staff there, whereas evenings when everyone's home there's maybe just one member of staff. Complaints are never addressed satisfactorily. Terrible.

Avoid Lifeways "care" !!!

My adult Son was in sheltered accomodation in London managed by Lifeways.
Not only was the Manager useless, with low interpersonal skills but, when I complained to several Area Managers over a number of years about numerous incidents, some very serious, it was always swept under the carpet.
I then took my complaint to the Regional Manager in 2019 and, not only did they fail to follow their own complaints procedure, but they even went so far as to claim that I had not made a "complaint" at all !
I then went to the very top and wrote to the Chief Operating Officer, Mr Coney, who also covered up the matter and, when I asked for some documentary proof of what he was saying, he refused to deal with me!
I have now contacted the CQC and the Ombudsman to look into my case.
I moved my Son out of their care in September 2020 and the improvement in his behaviour and body weight etc has been noted by his carers and medical team.
Because the Manager at Lifeways was so poor, it affected the attitude of the staff as well as the state of the premises which was poor.
My advice is to avoid Lifeways if at all possible. They are paid huge sums of money by local authorities yet they pay their staff very low wages, which de-motivates them.

Lifeways staff are totally useless

Lifeways staff are totally useless. I came down stairs to find the night security playing and talking to dolls. The night before the staff were fast asleep, they didn't know i had walked past twice on that occasion over a two hour period. This is downright dangerous in my, the area where we live (Bedworth) is well known a rough area, all lifeway care about is money. They are a long running joke.

Lifeways community care horrid

I've living lifeways community care and supported accommodation for around 4 years since I was 18 years old; the care I received was stagnant, inconsistent, horrid chavs from the Jobcentre, autism support is rubbish, stuff are not trained properly that deal with autism, mental health issues, mental illness.

Most of the employees are not qualified to be a support workers, care I received is poor, inadequate; lifeways does not do what's advertised, old people under mind the younger generation, I would suggest if you are 18 and living in lifeways community care and have hardly any physical, mental health needs; move out of the dreadful, inadequate care company swamp.

Care charges are too high how can I live on my benefits while lifeways is setup to milk the council, vulnerable adults alike of their savings.
