Their customer service is the absolute best and their product is unbeatable.
We received more than enough of everything to build our house and our builder said it was the best lumber he has worked with in over 20 years!

My experience with Linwood Homes was…
My experience with Linwood Homes was excellent. They walked me through the whole process, literally "held my hand," gave me good input when I needed a second opinion, the quality of the materials was excellent and they delivered the home package on time. I think the best rating I can give Linwood Homes is I've recommended them to at least 4 other home builders.
Very competent and caring people
Very competent and caring people. Easy to work with and genuinely want to work with your ideas and see the project through. Would highly recommend Linwood Homes.

We are very happy with the quality of the home and found the whole building process a positive experience with the Linwood contractor.
We are especially happy with the screened in room and the beam that runs across the ceiling.
Beautiful home in the mountains of Oregon
Our finished home in the mountains of Oregon exceeded our expectations. The unique design of the Grouse Lane with its curved roof line is unlike any other home in the area and gets lots of positive comments. The fact that Linwood had home plans ready to go made our land / construction loan with the bank much easier (in my opinion) than the conventional process. Also, being in the mountains which required a higher snow load for the roof was no big deal because Linwood was able to take care of architectural changes in house. Overall very pleased with the process.
The downside was finding a contractor who understood the build process and wanted to take on the project. For full disclosure, our home is located outside of Bend Oregon which is growing like crazy, so luring a contractor from the city might have been part of the issue. We did luck out and found Brian Chadowski who exclusively builds Linwood Homes and he and his team did an excellent job. The only other downside was an issue with not enough roofing material included in the package. Brian fought it out with Linwood to get them to send the appropriate amount, but Linwood dug their heels in which passed the additional cost to us (that's why the 4 instead of 5 stars).
Overall a very high quality home that appraised very well at the end of the project compared to conventional construction. We love our new dream home in the mountains!
Build your house without them...
I'll start with the positives - the quality of lumber was excellent, whether framing, beams, siding, etc... Lumber in Ontario simply isn't this quality. That's it for the positives.
Otherwise, the Linwood process was rather painful (designer was extremely junior and made a lot of mistakes resulting in a lot of back and forth drawing adjustments to account for mechanical, available upgrades weren't communicated unless specifically asked for and in many cases, were insanely overpriced). The end result turned out OK thanks to having a good general contractor that we found on our own (note, none of Linwood's 'recommended' contractors wanted to work on the project).
We ran into some really avoidable logistics issues such as the shipping company sending a truck without a Moffett to unload the materials package on site, so we had to rent one and truck it in an hour from the nearest city at our cost. Materials sent were short, and Linwood didn't want to send the quantity outstanding since they include a 10% overage. Wait, didn't we pay for the quantities listed on the bill of lading? Apparently not.
Once the sales rep finalized the sale, we never heard back from Linwood. Not a single follow-up phone call, whether upon delivery of the materials package, or at any point during the build process.
Having gone through this process, I wouldn't do it again. You're better off spending your time finding a good general contractor who can handle sourcing of materials and working with your local building center. It will be cheaper overall, even including architect's fees.
Thornhill in Salmon Arm.
Generally satisfactory experience. Our sales rep was outstanding and very patient throughout the whole process from early discussions to ongoing dialog to package delivery to follow up.
The main negatives had to do with the package itself. For example - the truss plan did not match the floor plan hence eaves overhang at two bump outs was not accounted for resulting in little to no exterior overhang and altering interior framing to lower the ceiling on the interior.
Other comparatively minor fit issues surfaced as well. All of which were identified in a deficiency submission (that took an extraordinary amount of time to reconcile). Getting answers on some questions (which of necessity went beyond our sales rep) was a challenge. The impression was ‘the package is in your hands now - you deal with any issues yourself’.
In the end, though, it’s a nice design, material quality is exceptional and the finished product will be very good.
Don’t do it.
Could not find a builder in my area, even though LinWood sent 3 recommendations NONE even returned my calls, materials arrived unusable, windows very low grade, when I requested replacement I was told that I received more than enough and would have to pay for more which would take 6-8 weeks, took a long time to make design changes, didn’t have a one on one discussion with designers during changes, felt like I was left hanging out, would not recommend this to anyone who was not had any previous experience building their own house.

The folks from Linwood were great to work with. They were knowledgeable, accommodating and responded quickly to our questions through all phases from purchase through construction. We would purchase from them again going forward. We do recommend, however, taking a very close look at what their base packages include then decide on any upgrades you want to have included. Do this prior to closing the deal. Upgrades can be pricy after the deal is signed.

Great experience and we are extremely pleased with our Green Bay! Jeff Herlocker was a pleasure to deal with and our contractor was impressed with the quality of the materials.
Linwood really came through for me
Linwood really came through for me. I have a beautiful house (still working on the inside), Not everything went smoothly; construction never does, but any issue I had, my representative from Linwood, Amy Peri, jumped in to help. From receiving my plans for county permits to delivery to completion, I can't say enough good about my choice of using Linwood. Note -- I rarely write glowing reviews.

Rebuilding my fire-destroyed cabin with a Linwood Ho
It was necessary to demolish my cabin in B.C. that burned in 2016 because what remained was not up to code. I saw the display Linwood Home in Calgary and thought it looked and felt like my previous cabin. All that remained of my cabin was the foundation and Maya Zimmerman and made a trip out to the site to ensure it would accommodate a version of the display cabin in Calgary. All building supplies neccessary were sent to the site from Vancouver I am absolutely delighted with my new cabin and thank Linwood Homes for providing an excellent product. Great value for the cost.

Kate and the team at Linwood A+
Kate and the team at Linwood were great to deal with. From the initial tour of the production yard to the delivery of materials on site with a changing construction schedule, their team was very helpful and Kate’s communication keeping me informed throughout the process was superb. As a first time owner builder of a laneway house the idea of taking on a build was daunting but I’m glad I went to Linwood for my building package. Professional team delivering premium building materials. Would definitely recommend and may very likely use their services again.
Love our new home!
Mcfarlane’s Folly
My experience with Linwood didn’t suck!Although my Linwood advisor and I didn’t always see eye to eye I couldn’t be happier with the end result.. I built my home in the middle of nowhere so having everything delivered in one package worked out to be a big bonus.Linwood promised quality wood and that’s what they delivered. Now a days company’s make a lot of promises and rarely come through in the end but Linwood definitely played an important role in the success of my project.

Linwood was definitely the right choice for us. From sales to dealing with local contract the customer service was second to none. Linwood worked with us very closely, helping us make decisions during the whole process creating our dream home that exceeded our expectations.
