I booked a trip to Raja Ampat on board The Aliikai through Liveaboard.com, and had a great experience with the site/ customer service team.
I made my booking a whole year in advance, and Liveaboard gave me timely updates and reminders along the way to prepare for my trip. When I sent my questions to the Liveaboard team, they were also very responsive and got me all the answers that I needed.
Will look to Liveaboard again when I am researching my next trip!

Don’t book anything in Galapagos thru Liveaboard - go to a local operator directly
Nothing but mistakes in my booking ( incl airline ticket) making it a very stressful and unpleasant experience. There never seems to be a supervisor available and not sure if the agents are real people or ‘bots’ . I spent $10000 & thought this company would make the booking process easy but I have spent hours communicating with various operators at Liveaboard who don’t respond correctly to my questions or review past history on the booking. Will NEVER use them
Again

When I sent a booking inquiry they responded promptly to have received the booking request but I waited about 24 hours and did not get any confirmation. My trip was in only few days, so I needed the answer soon rather than later. I also sent another inquiry which was not answered. There were no mails in spam folder. I booked with another company that had excellent customer service and could confirm the same booking in just 10 min. Maybe their discounts are non-existent

I booked a recent dive trip in the Maldives through Liveaboard.com. I had quite a few questions and needed their help with some arrangements (eg for domestic flights). All of my e-mails were answered promptly and all of the support staff were very extremely friendly and helpful - really went above and beyond to make sure my trip went smoothly.

This review is about the boat Krishna 1:
I had several issues with my gear on my trip with Krishna 1. I would not recommend this boat at all. The customer support declined that any of the following issues are serious. For me it is a clear indicator that the company does not maintain their gear. In hindsight I am very glad that no serious injuries occurred.
On my first night dive my torch ran out of battery. It was my very first night dive and I was very scared. On the second night dive I was given a new torch. Unfortunately this one ran out of battery during the night dive as well.
On the next day, my regulator was leaking. The whole group had to go back to the boat with me to change regulators. The alternative regulator was leaking as well. When we got to the third regulator it had already used so much air for checking the gear that we had to change tanks. This third regulator was leaking too but luckily not as much as the other two. It made me quite nervous to dive with the leaking regulator.
Later that day when I was diving my diving watch stopped working and then locked me out of diving and flying for 48 hours. We compared logbook details from my watch with the dive masters watch. The dive master thought that it was probably an issue with the sensor. However, the dive masters were unable to 100% confirm because they were unable to download the file because the company never bought the cable for the watch. I spoke with several guests on the boat and they all adivsed me to adhere to the watches command and stay out of the water for 48h. I tried to participate in a shallow dive but felt extremly unconfortable and anxious. Unfortunantely this meant that I had to miss 3 dives.
I never experienced so many issues with rented gear. Accordingly I tried asking for a refund. MV Krishna declined.

MARCH 2025 RAJA AMPAT DIVE TRIP UPDATE: Elena and staff ONCE again facilitated another dream trip last month with a 12 day entire Raja Ampat park cruise on the Calico Jack boat.
WONDERFUL experience and as usual the logistical help Elena provided managing local Sorong hotels, how to fly there, instructions of electronic Indonesia entry visa, etc were STELLAR.
Look NO further than Liveaboard.com for realizing your diving dreams !!
2023-2024 EXPERIENCES: I can't find words enough to express my satisfaction and amazement for the professionalism of this organization!
It's literally changed my life facilitating dream scuba diving trips across the globe from the Caribbean to Maldives to Egypt Red Sea.
The website is amazing with the variety and depth of individual liveaboard diving boats organized by world region.
They often list operator special discounts, but the REAL attraction here is the STAFF.
I've booked close to 10 separate trips already with them, and can't believe their patience with my requests for airport transportation, local flights, equipment rentals, etc etc
My main representative has been Nicole, but this last trip to Red Sea Elena was soooooo critical in getting my son booked into my cabin literally at the last possible moment !
Look no further than liveaboard--com for dream scuba diving !! It's changed my life.
UPDATE:
Once again I had to make life hard for the staff in requesting a cancellation of a Red Sea trip I was so looking forward to (southern route during fall shark season) due to family member issues .
Elena and others were SO considerate, understanding and sympathetic to quickly work a refund with the operator under completely acceptable cancellation penalty terms.
And then this credit was applied immediately to my Feb 2O25 dream Raj Ampat safari ... Which I won't miss for ANYthing!!!
Thanks again to your wonderful staff.

This was a booking with LiveAboard on Iruvai in the Maldives in Jan/25.
Jan 2025 • Couples
We bailed after the check dive.
We were already concerned about our rental equipment that arrived late in the evening of our first day on board. Our BCD's were wet and full of sand.
When testing the inflation before the dive both our BCD's did not hold. Mine was 'repaired' by staff by blowing into the dump valve. My husband's never worked. He forfeited the dive which left me without a dive buddy. Yet, the staff shepparded me to the boat exit to jump off. I was the last to leave the boat.
Once I started descending, the valve gave way completely. I returned to the surface and not being able to inflate my BCD, I let go of the weight belt. I was still barely keeping my head above water as my tank was full and heavy.
I started to swim back and call for help. Neither dive masters came to my assistance (although afterwards one told me that he saw me drop the weight belt and he went to retrieve it...???). I was eventually spotted by the boat and pulled up.
Our trust in the diving team and the equipment was non existent at this point. We asked to be taken to shore (still in Male).
The company insisted that this was a cancellation on our part and refunded only 1/2 of the cost.
LiveAboard was informed about the situation from the onset but hid behind the operator's cancellation policy despite the flagrant safety violations. Also, I was unable to post a review on their site warning other people of these concerns.
I just saw the response from LiveAboard.
I wish to know when does a significant safety concern constitute negligence on the part of the operator and what responsibility does LiveAboard accept for advertising and selling a product that is unacceptable and dangerous.
Also, why does LiveAboard not allow me to post a review on their site? The exclusion of people that did not complete the trip obviously skews the information available to future clients in favor of the operator and LiveAboard. Your reputation as a reliable company must be more important than selling trips!

For me as a 66 year old fellows it was a wonderful experience to start diving after seven years and it was my first diving safari. The Crew of the boat Manta Queen 2 was very helpful and friendly and the Dive Masters where straight with this certain Impact of british humour.
The food was excellent and as the only pescetarian of the customers the cook Noy provided me with extra prepared food.
It was also the first diving in the Andaman sea with its coulourful biodiversity especially at the Richelieu Rock. It was incredible what you could see underwater.
Also I did the Nitrox course which allowed me to dive longer and eben after five dives I was not as exhausted than after two dives with air. I strongly recommend this diving safari with this crew and these dive masters.

We booked a Galapagos trip with LiveAboard and while waiting to get more details about flights to the island and other fees; we had a health problem with one of our group members and had to cancel the trip.
The booking conditions on LiveAboard website state "More than 120 days out = 90% refund." We are over 4 months out.
They are charging me 13%, 10% + 3% administrative fee, on our per person amount plus the cost of air to island and park fees that we haven't decides yet who will pay them.
When I questioned LiveAboard, I was told. "these are the boat operator's policies not ours, we are a 3rd party to this agreement." I told the representative "You are telling me I can't believe what I read on your website." Their response:
I understand your frustration.
Unfortunately, this is the terms of cancelation from the operator.
As a third party, we are bound to their policy.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Kind regards,
Mael
Customer Support Team
They were very friendly until we had a problem.
I never saw a copy of the boat operator's policies so make sure you get a copy of them before you sign anything, because when push comes to shove, LiveAboard's policies don't matter, boat operator's do.
They did finally only charge the 13% on the per person amount not on the fights and island fees.
If you think you might have to cancel, DON'T book with this outfit.

Despite we had a lot of tours with them, once we have asked for a cancellation, but they were not helpful at all. Although the boat is fully booked for the next 2 months, they didn't even try to sell our spaces, which i believe they could do it in a week. Never gonna travel with them again.

Liveaboard.com was easy to book through. Nautilus is an old boat, definitely not luxurious. Food was awful and I did not Ike the cattle boat diving experience. All dives less than one hour and forced to use nitrox. I do not live a boat controlling my diving. Probably won’t go again.

I had a small window of time at short notice to book a dive trip for my family. LiveAboard made it super easy and stress free. Communication was regular, clear and prompt, they resolved all questions I had with the trip provider (Spirit of Freedom) and even secured a seasonal discount for each of us. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I would definitely use again and strongly recommend. Enjoy your dive trip.

The Revillagigedo National Park is absolutely amazing, every dive gave us encounters and experiences that in any other part of the world would be out of the ordinary. In this place, it really seems like time has never passed, and animals can feel curious about divers and seek interaction. The boat is nice and comfortable and offers different areas to spend time on board. The crew was great, they took care of us, solved any issue that could arise and they made the experience more than just a diving trip. Special mention to the diving instructors, who were able to plan the dives perfectly thanks to their knowledge of the park and to transmit their love and passion for this place
