I had one week diving trip on a board Yasawa Princess from 14th-21th April 2025.
This was my first experience of a liveaboard in the Maldives and it was a great success!
A wonderful ship, great service, delicious food. The crew does everything possible to make guests feel as comfortable as possible. The ship specializes more in cruise vacations than diving safaris. But the diving here is organized at the highest level. You don't have to lift air tanks yourself, remove BCD and regulators, the crew does it all for you. I especially want to note dive instructor Jeff. He is a wonderful specialist in love with the sea. He knows one perfectly. Thanks to Jeff, we saw all the most beautiful places and the most beautiful underwater animals: many different sharks, eagle rays, snorkeled with three mantas and on the last dive Jeff gave us a meeting with the most beautiful underwater creature - a whale shark!
It was Great!

Great trip. Crew, food and vessel were excellent. Dive sites varied and a range of different creatures. Grateful knowing that only very few have visited. Our group also dived and named a few new dive sites. Weather wasn’t what anyone would have wanted but, didn’t stop us diving despite low 15-20 m visibility. Experience of encountering many different creatures can’t be undermined by what you can’t control- weather.

I'll never book my trips with LiveAboard.com again after my terrible diving accident in the Maldives 4 months ago and the way they handled it. We were thrown to dive in the craziest current I've ever experienced, my buddy swooned and was drowning, I had to bring him to the surface as quickly as possible. And once on the boat (Amba), the 2 emergency oxygen tanks were empty, criminal lack of basic security equipment, putting my health and my life in danger. LiveAboard.com (through which I booked that trip) refused to take mesures against Amba boat and to compensate me, rending itself accomplice of this criminal situation. 4 months later, I'm still struggling with this trauma. What is more, the insurance they recommend, DiveAssure, managed not to pay during my stay at 3 hospitals - and didn't refund me once I was home. It had cost me 4000 € (5 hours in the decompression chamber, among others, costs lot of money). And they only publish positive reviews, so when people book, all the boats are good notes. I wrote 2 negative reviews (other than Amba, it was Agos were most of the divers had a heavy food poisoning and some ended up in a hospital) which were never published on their site. That's cheating

Be very cautious with booking through liveaboard.com, we booked a diving trip on manta navis 1 for tubataha Philippines.
We arrived for our trip and boarded this horrendous floating death trap, no way I would risk my loved ones lives on this boat, we have been on several boats and this by far has been the worst.
1. The boat is rusted to the point metal turns to dust when you hold it.
2. The boat is patched up quite a lot and not done well at all.
3. The boat is filthy.
4. The rooms are very tiny and not useable for a couple for a week out in the ocean.
5. The boat is a reclaimed boat that should not be on the seas that was a small ferry a long time ago and repurposed as a dive boat.
We ended up leaving the boat after having to argue with the owners over the safety concerns and then finally agreeing to a refund, however they didn't cover our wasted flights or time, instead gave us an 150 usd in pesos to take a shuttle to another hotel. We basically wasted a lot of money and time on this. The owner tried to convince us that the boat was rebuilt but the steel available these days is not good....that's really not a great excuse.
liveaboard.com did not help either, their response was "corrosion is a normal process" despite sending them pictures of the boat crumbling. Live aboard.com does no physical inspections of the boats they market and take it solely on the word of the operator that the boat is sea worthy. This boat is being operated in a 3rd world country and it's easy to get away with a lot, you would think an international company selling the trip would be more concerned and take action, instead they simply shrug it off on the basis that you are some uneducated person that doesn't know the difference between normal corrosion and a serious safety risk.
The only reason we got our refund is that I had to tell the boat owner that I would not leave the boat till we settled the issue and the boat doesn't leave the dock for the trip till that's done or the authorities get involved.
It's only after this that the owner pleaded with me not to tell the others on board of what issues I had seen and to keep it quiet so that the other guests don't complain too, this was a major red flag, the owners clearly know it's sub standard but I guess a sale is more important than safety and sadly liveaboard.com seems to be agreeable to that.

I have used Liveaboard.com since 2018 to book the last 6 trips that my wife and I have gone on. They have been wonderful to work with and all our trips were very easy to book. In fact during COVID when we had to cancel our Thailand trip they gave us full credit towards a future trip which we used for Red Sea and Nile River cruise in 2023. So really counting the Thailand trip and the Solomon Islands that I just booked we have used Liveaboard 8 times.

Excellent service & support - I can blindly trust the team to sorting all matters from booking to any issue and logistics out. Will never use anyone else when booking a diving liveaboard! The entire team (Evita, Josh, Ana in particular) are super responsive and precise - making the entire experience very positive.

Horrible! LifeAboard cancels our diving trip several weeks before departure. They just told us that there is another alternative boat, but this one was more expensive… What about a discount? That would have been more customer friendly. So what would you do? Cancel flight, hotels,…or take a more expensive boat?
In the diving boat we were not the only ones with this problem and everyone was really upset with situation.
Life aboard is not what it was…

We recently booked a trip with White Pearl in the Maldives through LiveAboard and couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. The booking process was smooth and professional—LiveAboard’s team was incredibly attentive, responded to all our questions immediately, and provided excellent support throughout. We also got the best price available.
The trip itself on the White Pearl was absolutely wonderful and exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organised.
We highly recommend booking with LiveAboard—they truly deliver outstanding service and unforgettable experiences!

Diving in the Maldives was truly an amazing experience. the week went by too quick
The 3 dive guides I dove with were excellent (Mariano, Stephe, Yacque). The 2 shark feedings were awesome. The currents in the channels were a challenge for me, but they helped me through it using the reef hook and "flying like a kite" is a wild experience The food was great Would highly recommend this liveaboard!

Excellent visit to the Galapagos on the Galaxy Orion! Very knowledgeable naturalist, kind and helpful crew, wide range of activities throughout each day, very good food…even a birthday cake! The Orion is quite compact but comfortable. Some activity were physically challenging but I could take breaks as needed. A tremendous experience all in all.

My strongest recommendations.
I’ve made 12 trips with the company over past 6 years. They have always been 100% reliable. Their customer service is outstanding. I look forward to many more trips over many years. They catalogue is simply amazing.

Update: a solution was found. Thanks.
Trip was cancelled 5 days before departure by the operator. We had to manage all the changes ourselves. Now, 1 month after the return, no support or commercial gesture to cover the additional costs incurred. Book directly with the operator.
