LK Borrowed - where did it all go wrong?

This was an excellent service when it first started, with a nice range of items. As others said, radio silence, and I had to send proof I had returned items, as they said they were outstanding. They did return my subscription after taking it 2 weeks before. Eventually made email contact, phone number not working. I seemed to be communicating into a vacuum. They said my subscription had been cancelled, I asked who had cancelled it? Had they been hacked? Was my data safe? No reply. How they have treated loyal customers has damaged their reputation.

Used to be great but went downhill

As many others have said, I really loved the concept of this and have been a subscriber for over a year. The service has gone downhill over the last few months but became terrible at the start of April, when emails stopped being responded too and items were not dispatched. I tried to phone but the phone was not answered. During my last month of membership, I didn’t receive any rentals but I couldn’t cancel my membership as items I’d returned were not marked as received. Of course, my emails went unanswered.

It was a great service until it wasn’t. I really hope it comes back as it was a great concept and I also bought some new items too.

Terrible service from LK Borrowed/LK…

Terrible service from LK Borrowed/LK Bennett. It used to be great however garments stopped being sent early April and now the website has been taken down, no response by telephone and no response to emails.
This is a such an unprofessional way to treat customers, I have contacted my credit card company to obtain a refund and block transactions.

Will really miss this service …

So gutted they’ve just stopped this service. I’ve never had any bad experiences but then for the last month or so I had just been hanging on to the items I had as one was for a wedding in the summer. Using LK Borrowed had significantly reduced my shopping saving me money & wardrobe space while providing loads of great outfits for work, events, holiday & nights out. It was also very environmentally friendly preventing over accumulating clothes! The advantage for me, over other rental services was that I generally know my size in LKB, they usually had a range of sizes and I could sometimes feel the fabric/try on in an LKB shop and then know for certain what I wanted to rent. I really do hope they bring it back when they find a better service partner.

Used to be an amazing service but agree with others the last month has seen a drastic change. I messaged them about 6 times since April 9 trying to find out about the delays to service etc, no one has been in touch about my queries since April 9 and then yesterday they cancelled my account stating that I did it which was not the case. They must have gone into administration or something but this is horrible that they did nothing to inform their loyal customers. Brutal for the LK Bennett brand. I am really disappointed by how this was all managed with no communication to us.

Great...until it wasn't. No longer trading??

Great...until it wasn't. No box delivery, no reply to emails, no option to speak to anyone. My accounts now been closed so can only assume it's been shut down but the lack of communication is very poor. I expected better of LK Bennett.

Terrible customer experience by LK Bennett

Exactly the same - they’ve done nothing for the last month and then LK Bennett had the cheek to take my money for this month and then cancel me. They refuse to answer any emails and their phone number is switched off and their website no longer exists.
Appalling customer service.

Adding my concerns

Adding my concerns - they are definitely having difficulties. I just cancelled my subscription having returned clothes at the start of April and not had something new and now have had an email saying the dress I returned is outstanding. They had better not charge me!!! Real shame - wish I had come on here to look at reviews before sending last dress back!

Suddenly no clothing for the last 3 weeks. They discounted 30 quid of "next month" but as no further deliveries I have stopped the subscription - I suspect they've gone under. No further responses to my emails

No longer working - no customer service

Same as all other reviews. I have been using this for 2 years and it was great until the last month, I have received nothing, emails not being responded to and they are not taking phone calls. A real shame as others have said.

Subscription cancelled by long term customer

I gave a great review previously but have just cancelled my subscription. New items not being sent, returned items not being logged and emails not being answered. Either sudden loss of key staff or financial problems I’m assuming. A real shame as I thought this was such a great idea and have been enjoying it for a long time.

What’s going on!

My comments are very similar to everyone else’s and I’m just glad that it’s not something I have done but appears to be widespread. I have items which have been returned and where I have emailed the tracking receipt as evidence - with no response received at all. My last dart box was cancelled although the £9 fee was refunded and having tried to call today the automated message is asking that you email…which I have done 3 times with no response. The only thing they seem to be doing right at the moment is taking the monthly subscription fee!

I have been a customer since they started but have cancelled today as I am not getting anything for my subscription. I could cancel on line even with items still showing as in transit (which they clearly aren’t) and so if anyone has struggled previously it’s worth another go.

Real shame.

Avoid!

Bad form on behalf of this company to continue to take money from subscribers, giving the illusion that their business is fully operational, when, in fact, they are taking monthly subscriptions, but not sending goods, nor answering calls or emails. At the very least they could be honest about their difficulties on their website that they cannot fulfil orders - this is now tantamount to theft. I've paid £79 and received nothing this month. Subscription now cancelled.
Pity, as this was once a fantastic service,

They stopped sending items

I haven’t received any items for April 2025 despite being billed. I contacted support multiple times and no one has given any information other than repeating this message: “ I completely understand how frustrating delays can be, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. While I’m currently unable to provide an exact shipping date, please rest assured that we’re doing everything we can to get your package processed and shipped out as soon as possible.”

I asked for a refund, but was only offered £20 off next month. I tried their phone number today and it has an automated message that they are unable to take calls and to email them.

No contact and no items received.

I have not received any items for last 2 weeks and got billed this month for not much.
Very disappointed as support services is NOT supportive at all.

I have been enjoying last 2 years but if i will not receive anything within the next week I will have to cancel my membership as dont feel spending another £79 for nothing!

Terrible customer service!!!!

Hi I have been an LK borrowed customer since 2022. I have really loved it, however since April my returned items are still showing at home even though I have tracking. Customer service aren’t responding and the phone lines not working. No new items have been coming out either. Something must have gone terribly wrong. Gutted!!!! Trying to get a refund on April subscription and have cancelled until this gets sorted out. Anyone shed any light on this?
