Outstanding team who took on my case two weeks before trial — and won it

I cannot recommend Lloyds PR Solicitors highly enough.

I came to them in a difficult position: facing a Crown Court trial at Southwark, unrepresented, with only two weeks before the hearing date. Most firms would have said it was too late. Lloyds PR took the case on, got legal aid in place, and got to work immediately.

Thomas Ashbey and Freddy Hodgson supervised and prepared the case with real diligence — they went through the evidence properly, pressed the prosecution on disclosure that had been outstanding for a long time, and made sure nothing was left unexamined. They were responsive throughout, always took the time to explain what was happening, and treated me with genuine respect at a point when I badly needed it.

Ayanthi Palihawadana represented me at trial and was exceptional. Calm, precise, and completely on top of the material — despite having so little time to prepare. Her cross-examination and her closing speech were superb. Watching her work, you would never have guessed the case had come to the team so late.

The verdict was not guilty.

After three years of carrying this — three years of worry, of sleepless nights, of it never leaving my mind — that weight was lifted from my shoulders and from my head in a single moment. I will always be grateful to this team for that.
