This organization does patients more harm than good

Wait. There are 7 one-star reviews here. How does that add up to a 2.5 overall score? It’s ONE STAR.

If you have a parent (or anyone) receiving care from a doctor (nurse practitioner or whatever) at Dignity health, get them out of that system ASAP. This is a terrible organization. Like another reviewer said, they give you a doctor to start, then the doctor stops seeing you and an over-worked, over-scheduled nurse, hampered by beurocratic red-tape, governmental interference, and insurance companies all vying for control of the patients medical options—- becomes your primary. The bottom line is, the patient’s mental, physical and emotional well-being is compromised or neglected due to other priorities. I watched my elderly mother slowly die under this organizations “care”. She felt like she was all alone. Her doctor’s office didn't return her phone calls, they didn't resolve mistakes with her prescriptions, they often failed to send prescriptions to her pharmacy, and she could only get an appointment on a scheduled basis. Her doctor/ nurse practitioner did not see sick people unless they happened to be sick on one of their scheduled visits. If she called them when she was sick, she was told to go to the hospital or urgent care. They treated her like she was just old and not important. They judged her for being one of the millions of American’s who lives with chronic pain that she did not cause. She has central neuropathic pain from a stroke. Think of a stabbing, throbbing, toothache-like pain that never really stops, in one leg. Got so they were threatening to ween her off of the low dose of medication that made her life bearable, in favor of self-taught meditation. Come on people. They kept switching her medication to less effective alternatives because they didn't want heat from the government. Very common these days—blame the patient and harden your heart. And although she has serious health problems, they failed to recommend tests, treatments or specialists who would help her. They just kept repeating, “there is no cure for neuropathic pain. You just have to live with it.” She was stressed, frightened, in pain, hardly sleeping, and declining before my eyes. She was literally slipping away from me by inches, I could see it in her face. The horror of endless suffering in the face of medical professionals who had lost their compassion and were just covering their own asses.

But! Prayer works! And thank goodness, we found a doctor who is not part of that system and who has set her up with 3 other specialists, all of which are helping her in new ways. After 4 years, I’m getting my mom back. Under her new doctor’s care, her pain has significantly decreased, she sleeps better and for longer intervals and—-it’s because her stress level is down 90%. She no longer feels alone. Her primary care doctor works her in anytime she’s sick, and he prescribes what she needs and enough to ease her mind. As a result she feels cared about. She looks great and sounds 10 years younger. She no longer stutters or forgets words. She has energy and is there for her family again. I no longer feel her slipping away, but charging back to how she was years ago. It is possible that one day she could be pain free. There are good doctors out there. And they are hooked up with other good doctors. But Dignity health is not the place to look for them; it’s as bad as the VA system. Dignity Health in Ventura county is the definition of a broken healthcare system.

My brother was admitted through…

My brother was admitted through emergency room downtown Bakersfield,in the process of his belongings being transferred from his possession to his wife his wallet and pants were removed when leaving he stopped by security to ask about the complaint submitted there was not one. Dr. Andrew’s in icu dismissed all the family concerns George Cuadras needs a kidney transplant among other health issues all he would say is he can’t justify the requests being made because hospitals have changed but peoples health issues have gotten worse. He did leave on his own because he was so frustrated. I’m so disappointed with dignity hospital this has not been the first time I’ve had to deal with the let downs of the staff and bedside manner

I went to Dignity Health 07/25/2022 due…

I went to Dignity Health 07/25/2022 due to having a sensitivity to light in one eye causing pain and a headache.
My eye was really red!
I went to the ER on Sahara and Decatur, Las Vegas, NV.
I saw a Doctor who ran one test and gave me some motrin (4) and then said, she wants me to go to another hospital.
She chose UMC. I said to her I do not have insurance and going to another hospital will be a waste if they do the same test. I rather not get charged double.
She assured me that UMC has more equipment and she has done all she could do. I left in the same situation I arrived in and that was a hospital.
They later charged $2300 for being than an hour.
I wasn't even given a prescription for anything!
Instead, I was charged $98 for a prescription.
I think they are looking at the 4 Motrins and charging me $98 for 4 motrins.
I can say it over and over and it will never make sense. The way I was treated was unethical and I am now filing a complaint with the Medical Board for negligence and mistreatment.

I went to UMC since the doctor advised me to go.
UMC did the exact same thing. THESE HOSPITALS ARE GARBAGE!
I been in Nevada since 2019 and had 7 appts for a physical and since the doctors what's you to swab yourself and diagnose you without checking, I HAVE NOT HAD A PHYSICAL AND WILL NEVER SWAB MYSELF!
You are better off going to You tube to diagnose yourself.
It being 2022, here I am without insurance and I am treated the exact same way! So this is really a big problem!
The doctors in AMERICA are lazy GREEDY AND CARELESS.
How in the world is the treatment I received worth over $300. To be charged over $2000 says to me they take advantage of the patients, we are not there to be cared for. We are their to keep the doctors who's sitting in this EMPTY HOSPITAL employed so they could pay their bills.

As for the patients NO ONE CARES ABOUT US!

They can careless if we drop tomorrow!
As long as they got our information to have someone to OVER CHARGE for a high school treatment, they are happy!
I can't even call what they did even high school.
Dignity Health treated me like I was nothing!
Pushed me away just so I could go and get the same exact treatment from another hospital who told me they were sending ANTIBIOTIC and instead sent Allergy Eye Drops and it made matters worse.

THIS MIS DIAGNOSIS IS BEING IGNORED!
I called Dignity Health and told them what happened and they said, you can come back through the ER and keep in mind that will accumulate a second bill.

ALL I WANTED WAS HELP FROM A DOCTOR.
I had to wait in the pain I was in even after receiving two bills totaling around $3000 from both hospitals.

Just to have insurance on 08/13/2022 and after seeing an Ophthalmologist, I have an Infection in my eye and it's being treated with Prednisolone Suspense Eye Drops. NOT AIR!
IT WAS NOT AN ALLERGY!
BUT WHO CARES RIGHT?

I am now seeking Legal Advice because I was misdiagnosed from both hospitals and then billed like they helped me. MY INFECTION GOT MUCH WORSE! SINCE THIS HOSPITAL DECIDED TO PUSH ME AWAY!

Hospitals may not have everything!
But the one thing I can count own is that they do have Doctors. What you can't see is an issue but at least try to assist me. I am finding it hard to see hospitals as a place for help after being burned in two EMERGENCY ROOMS on the same day!
As if I wasn't stressed about my eye!
I now stress about my eye and this HUGE BILL THEY BOTH SENT ME! I WOULD HAVE NEVER GONE TO UMC HAD THE DOCTOR NOT TOLD ME, "FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR EYE HEALTH, DO NOT GO HOME, GO TO UMC RIGHT NOW".
So no worries! I will use Youtube next time or simply wait in pain until my Insurance starts and bypass hospitals all together.
WHEN YOU ARE IN NEED OF A HOSPITAL, SEARCH FOR A SPECIALIST INSTEAD.

Seek Legal Advise if this has happened to you as well! I filed a complaint and nothing has happened, I bet they still want $2300 though!

After a 3 month wait for an appointment…

After a 3 month wait for an appointment with a specific doctor, a sixty mile drive to pick up the paperwork for establishing care, we get a call saying the Dr. will be on vacation and the next available appointment is in 3 months. They cancelled us, we did not cancel them. Then instead of seeing that specific doctor, they make an appointment with a nurse, not a doctor. This is bait and switch. Dignity Health affords patients no dignity at all. You’re just a billing opportunity. Be sure to read the Better Business Bureau complaints about this hospital group that has bought up the local medical practices.

Dr. Dana Jacques - Corrupt Kickbacks from Labs

I’m updating my review for Dana Jacques, MD. Since my (last/first), review of Dr. Jacques office & her Medical group Mercury Medical reaching out to me via email, Yelp and WebMD. I was very pleased to see that they we’re actually going to work with me and try to resolve the $3300 in lab requests (requested), from Dr. Dana Jacques herself, for 3 pap smears! Well, it was all a big façade! What I’m saying is they purposely reached out to me on social media under Web MD and to my email in a attempt to try to look like they were being responsible and doing their part for them using a lab that charges $1100 per Pap smear for a regular routine women’s yearly OB/GYN check? Now I’m even more upset and feel taken advantage of! So let it be known to every woman out there in the Roseville, Rocklin and or Sacramento and surrounding areas... these doctors and Dr. Dana Jacques and Mercury Medical Practices in particular do not discuss with you and do not care about using overbilling and excessively over charging labs, to order up tests that are hugely inflated and putting women (working women with good insurance that we pay handsomely for each month out our paychecks), like myself in financial hardship situations! Never in my life if I ever paid $1100 for a Pap smear, let alone 3 at $1100 =$3,300 dollars? Again this from when my first Pap smear came back abnormal, the 2nd Pap smear came back better but still slightly abnormal and the 3rd was ordered and it came back normal! Is this a very corrupt system! Are the doctors (and maybe even the staff), are getting kickbacks from the lab and putting the money from Quest Diagnostics in the ordering Doctors pockets? Current situation is that a very nice lady by the name of Sue Bear, Principal Patient Acct. Asst., Otpum 360 reached out to me via email. She quickly passes me off to Mandy Kaur (MGR) at 916-379-2804, Tania Navarrete (Lead) at 916-379-2862! I spoke with both of these ladies and Tania seemed to be concerned and willing to help and then after weeks of not hearing back from any one of the 3 ladies I placed yet another call (3 calls in all) and spoke with Mandy, she was beyond rude and completely disrespectful, telling me that the lab is responsible and that they would be calling me and that they no longer have any kind of responsibility nor will should I be talking to them and I should only be talking to Lab. I’m OK with that only here’s the problem nobody’s ever contacted me, so why would you reach out to me on social media (so that you can look like you reached out to me and that you guys are good guys & not the responsible party to try to resolve the situation when obviously you do not want that)? By the way my insurance paid 80% of these highly inflated and purposefully over charged to patient lab bills, so if you would like to know WHY all of our insurances (whether it’s medical, auto or other...is so incredibly high), it’s because of doctors offices, Dr practices & Labs, all working in cahoots together over billing and overcharging hard-working middle-class and upper middle-class people like us that CAN afford insurance and that’s why we are a INSURANCE POOR SOCIETY!!Who is auditing the charges the doctors offices and labs are charging us? How come the doctor isn’t disclosing to us in our doctors appointments how much our labs are going to be when they’re excessive & ordered by the doctors themselves? Please tell me that you don’t have enough office staff because that’s never been the case in the 50 years I’ve gone to the doctor! There’s ALWAYS plenty of admin and financial people that let you know that you owe money, so how come some of these people can’t come in to Dr. appointment or after appointment to tell us how much our labs are going to be or any other procedure that is recommended by the doctor in excess?? Ladies don’t use Mercy Medical and or Doctor offices (such as Dr. Dana Jacques), that never get back to you when you inquired initially, all those times!
