Long waiting for car pick up (2hrs). Otherwise, very happy. Car was in excellent condition.

Very disappointing experience – no car, no refund, no goodwill

I had a very disappointing experience with Locauto during what was supposed to be a family holiday.

I made the mistake of forgetting the physical copy of my driving licence. However, I had a photo/copy of my licence available, along with my passport and a debit/credit card in my own name. Despite this, Locauto refused to release the vehicle to me.

I accept that there may be rules requiring the physical driving licence, and I take responsibility for forgetting it. What I find extremely disappointing is that Locauto then refused to offer any refund or goodwill gesture whatsoever, despite the fact that the vehicle was never handed over to us and therefore there was no use, mileage, wear and tear or financial risk to Locauto from the rental.

The situation was particularly stressful because we were travelling as a family with a child. Having a rental car suddenly unavailable caused significant disruption to our holiday, and we were left feeling that there was absolutely no consideration for the circumstances.

What makes this even more frustrating is the complete lack of flexibility or customer service afterwards. A company that values its customers should, in my opinion, be willing to consider a reasonable goodwill gesture where a genuine mistake has resulted in a rental not taking place — particularly when the vehicle itself was never provided.

Overall, I found the experience extremely unsatisfactory. The combination of strict enforcement, no vehicle being provided, and absolutely no willingness to offer even a partial refund or goodwill gesture has left a very poor impression of Locauto.

Very disappointing customer service. I would think carefully before booking with Locauto.

Great customer service at the desk at Milan Malpensa airport. Pick up was very easy and efficient and drop off was smooth. Very nice car, Fiat Panda, and a great price.

Great rental company. Everything was smooth from picking up the car at their office in the airport to the return.
Straight forward prices, no hidden costs at pickup other than the voluntary insurance.

No problem over a one month rental. Your staff were always helpful.
Couple of things
1. I needed to add a driver for 4 days and was informed it would cost the whole period amount i naturally complained and it was dropped. Perhaps look into this
2. When I returned the car your lady accepted my signature for return plus another after inspection ok !
Then you emailed a diagram with red crosses on it, which I do not acknowledge. plus you sent my signature attached!!

Good car, smooth and pleasent service

I barely managed to get through to the call center due to poor tire condition. I sent photos via email and received a reply, but they said they couldn't do anything because it was the weekend and that there were no vehicles available at the nearest branch to exchange them. Eventually, I lost contact with them. Feeling anxious, I barely managed to return the car at a speed of less than 100 km/h.

Great experience, all went smooth, the staff was very helpful and nice and the car was fantastic.

Good car as advertised, would definitely use again 👌
