Intent to bulgary

My neighbor had just used their service, but at 4:30 a.m. the night he left, two middle-aged men, dressed identically to the driver who picked him up and with large builds, attempted to break into his house. Luckily, someone was inside, and they left. The security camera captured the incident, and the police were notified. My neighbor said he had used this company for many years, had never seen this driver before, and had never experienced anything like it before. He will never use this company again, which he considers like a robbery.

Disappointing and Dangerous

Disappointing service as had been using Loddon for almost 18 months for airport drop offs on an almost weekly basis (spending over £3k), however a couple of drivers would drive dangerously slow on the motorway (50mph) and swerve erratically despite driving so slowly, all this being when visibility/conditions are good and no traffic. When I raised this issue with the office, they were dismissive and said it was up to the driver how they drive and they weren't prepared to speak to the driver(s) and advised me to find another taxi company. I also found on a number of occasions, the drivers would try and overcharge from the pre-agreed price. I have now found another company which feel much safer, more friendly for the same price and always on time.

More threats than service

The most unprofessional and embarrassing taxi company that I've ever dealt with.

Cancelled a booking less than 10 minutes into the initial booking and was told that there would be a £20 "fee" that was never mentioned beforehand, and when I questioned it, the operator immediately resorted to scare tactics, claiming that we'd be "blacklisted" in the city and across England if we didn't pay HAHA

They then went on to say the driver would come around to collect the money, despite the ride being cancelled and us already driving in our own car. Needlessly aggressive, embarrassing and laughable. T

Instead of explaining their policies like a normal business, they rely on bluffing, intimidation, and empty threats. Zero professionalism or transparency.

If this is how they behave over a cancellation, I wouldn't trust them with an actual journey.

I'd rather take my money to people who realise driving a car doesn't make them intimidating.

Absolute disgrace of a company

Absolute disgrace of a company. I only use as a last resort. They charge £20 for a 5 mile journey. Recently they tried to charge me £28 for 4.4 miles. No interest in customer service, all about the money and taking people for as much as they can get.

Terrible reliability and customer service

I use Loddon cars frequently on company business! On my way home late on a Tuesday night I booked a cab for 2310 through the app which was accepted!

I was with two colleagues at the time I was telling them how well I rated Loddon Cars, as their experience and previously been poor! As I was telling them this the phone rang and it was Loddon cars to tell me they were cancelling the fare!

I expressed my anger that they should accept a fair and then cancel it particularly in view of the hour! They slammed the phone down on me!

I rang them back and told him it was completely unacceptable and I wanted the boss to phone me the following morning! Suffice to say there was no call they clearly don’t care about repeat business!

Awful, would avoid at all costs

Second awful experience with them. Terrible customer service and a driver that decided to use his phone without a hands-free set throughout the journey. Avoid them, there are far better alternatives in Reading.

So many excuses it was obvious they cannot be trusted

I booked a car in February for a airport transfer in April. Just a few days before I felt the need to double check that all was ok only to be told there was no booking for us. I told them I had a text confirmation from them only to be told the system was down. The funny thing (which I said to the very unconcerned man) was the text was sent in February to his reply was 'the system was updated but could still book a car for us'. I didn't feel confident enough to trust a company that 1. couldn't give a monkeys and 2. gave so many excuses that it was obvious. Good job I did double check as we might have missed our flight. I chose to book with another company who gave me all the assurance I needed to trust them.

Extremely rude operator

Extremely rude operator. Tried to book a taxi at 15:30 for 6:00 the next morning to train station. Told me I had to ring back at 5 in the morning. I said I wanted to book now to make sure I got there on time then told me they were fully booked. Can obviously see by other reviews this is a terrible company. So booked with Capital cars. Not a problem for them. Will never use Loddon cats again. Prefer to walk!!

Total frauds.. DO NOT USE!!

Booked a taxi online 24 hrs in advance, got an email and text confirmation of the booking. Having not used them before, and having not received any kind of quote/estimate, I rang just now to check.. was told they couldn't do it as too far away. I asked why I had received a confirmation of the booking if they couldn't do it, and what would have happened had I not called (we would have been waiting for our taxi, none the wiser) and he said someone would have called me before the time of the booking to say they couldn't do it?! RIDICULOUS.. NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE!!

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful! Booked three days ago, then called and spoke to them to check and confirmed. Have then cancelled our appointment, leaving us stranded with two kids and a dog at home!!! Do not use these guys!!!!!!!! Never again!!!!!

Unfortunately Lodden cars are not what they used to be. We have used this company regularly in the past and they were on time, and in regular communication.

Now it's 50-50 if they turn up. Bookings are accepted but then feign surprise when you ring asking where the car is. Most recent excuse is no flight number, but when booking they didn't ask for it. (We booked the taxi for over an hour after the flight landed so left plenty of time).
We have been early for our taxi and driver tried to charge us £25 for 'waiting'. You've lost a customer that used you regularly.

Sad to say this company is in disarray…

Sad to say this company is in disarray now, after years of good, reliable service. I booked a cab in July for a long haul flight and no driver showed up. This morning we had booked online a few days before, got a confirmation, phoned them an hour in advance, just to check, could not find the booking. So we have a friend take us.

Terrible

Bad. Needed to be at Norwich train station taxi didn't turn up and rang up to ask where it was to be told I didn't make a booking even though I received a email and text to confirm and had them ring me. Don't use.

I used Loddon Cars on 21/9/22 for a journey from Winnersh to Earley having been quoted a price and confirmed that I can pay using a card. En route the driver asked me how I was paying so I told him that it will be a card payment to which his response was I’ll have to pay extra. He even had the audacity to drive me to a cash point at a petrol station to get the cash out. I point blank refused to pay a single penny more. Loddon Cars need to remind their drivers that it’s a criminal offence to charge customers extra for using card payment.

Having been a Loddon Cars customer for…

Having been a Loddon Cars customer for the past 15-years, we are absolutely disgusted at what this company has turned into. Used to be nothing was too much trouble... now, only interested in airport bookings and NEVER have availability for anything else. Call an hour or two before you need a cab and 'you left it too late'..... call 1 - 10 days before, and 'you can't book that far in advance.

Today was the 6th time on a row over the past month I tried to book a cab (this time for tomorrow) only to be told, NO !

Do yourself a huge favour, stay well clear, and tell your friends and family to do the same !!!

Disappointed

Sadly Loddon is not the fantastic local business it used to be, having been a customer for many years. I understand the pandemic has had an impact and lack of drivers, but that should not mean poor customer service while they look to rebuild the business once more. Long story short, I needed to book a reoccurring 10am pick up for minimum 2 weeks to take my father to hospital for some life saving treatment. I called on the Friday to book to start the following Monday. I was told they would not accept my booking as no availability due to the Henley Festival, I reminded them that the festival is an evening event, then I was told they weren’t accepting the booking as the journey was too short - Wargrave to Reading, huh?! I asked to speak to a Manager and waited for a few minutes to then be told the Manager could not speak to me and that they would not accept the booking and he had to go as had other calls to take. Great….. I am so disappointed as they used to be absolutely fantastic, a real life line, a great team, but that service has now gone and we are looking for an alternative local, reliable service.

BEWARE !!! Absolutely Terrible !!!

BEWARE !!!
Terrible experience & this 10+ year loyal customer is now looking for a new cab company in the Reading area.
A real shame as Loddon Cars used to be really good.
So what went wrong ? Well, what went right ?
Pre-booked an airport pickup at Luton for 3 adults with a drop-off en-route - so far so good.
Plane lands 5 mins early, I turn my phone on, & it rings 3 times before we have even got off the plane with the firm chasing us asking us where we are.
Unfortunately UK Border Force weren't helping as it took us over an hour to clear security, during which time I had another 4 phone calls from both the driver and the office basically blaming me for the queue - have they forgotten how airports work during the pandemic ??? Plane lands, passengers need to get off, clear security, and get luggage - how they could possibly expect us to be ground-side 1 minute after landing is just mind-boggling !!!
But that's not all - I had prepaid the fare (which was already over £100). And there was the short stay car parking to cover so I'm OK with that (even if it is £9.50 for half an hour at Luton !). But then the taxi driver says "well I had to wait for you so you actually owe me £36" !!!
OK I think, at least it's over so I give him £40 and we head inside, glad to be home,
Only then my phone starts ringing and it's the office saying I need to pay for the parking and waiting and asking for ANOTHER £40 !!!!
I started to lose it now and when I explained that I had just paid the driver £40 in cash to cover that I was told that "I don't know what your problem is. The driver met you and had to wait. And, well, there's other fees - so it might be maybe another £15".
They sent me a link and I paid it but BEWARE - surely no customer should have to pay three separate invoices for one taxi ride !!!
Utter rubbish and I suggest customers use one of the many other taxi firms in the area. Loddon may suffice for local rides but if you want an airport transfer, don't put yourself through it - go elsewhere is my advice...
