Lodge Brothers are an independent, employee owned funeral service. 7 generations of our family have been helping local families in their time of need. For 240 years we have provided funerals, both modern & traditional, with reverence and compassion, for all faiths and the non-religious. We can facilitate cremations, burials, direct cremations and remembrance services. We bring our Lodge difference to every service offered including our own legal team (providing wills, probate and lasting POAs) and our highly skilled masons providing unique memorials, inscriptions and design work. We have a dedicated Funeral Plan Team who can help with planning for the future with a funeral plan or funeral wishes. We also supply floral tributes, Orders of Service, cremation urns and keepsake jewellery.

We had to have a grave moved by the…
We had to have a grave moved by the Church (Very Professional), but Lodge Brothers attempted to take advantage of their monopoly on the Churchyard and stipulated a design that included items not required and refused to discuss on a call. Only when I escalated to ALL the directors (Brothers) was I able to have a call and the specification changed (common sense) and the prices went down by over 20%. They then followed up with terminology in emails that was basically insulting. Essentially " Out of Courtesy" we have finished your work.
I did get an apology from one of the directors, but only after escalating it AGAIN to all the directors.
My points we that that they were taking advantage of vulnerable people at moments of anxiety and stress and clearly focusing on their profit, this came across in the email response. The lesson, question the price, don't let Lodge Bros take advantage of you or the Church that is a Charity.

I am sorry that your experience caused frustration and upset. That is not what we would want for any family, particularly in sensitive circumstances.
To clarify a key point for readers, the original quotation was revised because the specification changed following discussion. When elements were removed, the cost reduced accordingly. There was no intention to overcharge either your family or the Church. My colleague responded to your points by email as there were a number of family members cc'd making it logical to respond to all. He then phoned you within 24 hours of your email and resolved your questions to your satisfaction.
I also accept the wording of one email was poorly chosen and caused offence. I apologised for this directly and do so again here.
We take feedback like this seriously. It has been shared internally and will be used to improve how we communicate.

Caroline was amazing, everything went so well for my Dad he was looked after they couldn't do any more for me and my family.
Richard the celebrant was one of the nicest people We could of asked for to talk about my dad, he had also spoke at my uncles funeral as well a few months ago. Lodge Brothers I would say are the people to use.
