A great day

I went on my own and spent a lot of time queuing but the weather was great, the atmosphere friendly and the event was extremely well organised. I would happily go again next time with friends and a picnic! All the stewards were very genuine and happy to chat to people.

Phyl

The Antiques Roadshow is one of our favourite programmes on TV, so we were delighted when we were able to attend Pitzhanger Manor. Our tickets were for 9am entry and so we were able to enter before the later crowds arrived and that made it easier to have our pieces valued and then enjoy watching the filming and hearing the experts giving their opinion on the article on review. I was also lucky enough to have my photograph taken with Fiona Bruce who was charming. Altogether a day to remember with lots of precious photographs.

Antiques Roadshow

We had a lovely day at Pitzhanger Manor for the Antiques Roadshow. We had 9.00am tickets and managed to get 3 items valued - 2 watches and a necklace. You have to queue up at different areas depending on the items to be valued. By the afternoon, the queues for valuations were much longer. However, we looked round Pitzhanger Museum and then watched some filming with Fiona Bruce. My wife managed to have a photo with Fiona.

A wonderful day at the Roadshow

A wonderful day at the Roadshow. All staff and stewards were very welcoming and friendly. The venue was immaculately presented and very well laid out. Only downside was the queuing, which we knew would be long before hand. It would have been nice for less tickets to have been given away as there was an overwhelming amount of people. We spent 2 hours in one line before being told the next line was a 3 hour wait. It would also have been nice for the stewards to be more active in certain situations. One gentleman decided to skip the line and walk up to the expert with his item, to which the steward merely looked on and watched him do so. Other than that a wonderful day in the glorious sunshine!

Wonderful day at Pitzhanger Manor!

Wonderful day at Pitzhanger Manor!
Very well-organised event. Despite the queues, which we were expecting, we enjoyed ourselves, got to see Fiona Bruce, and learned something new about our treasured "antique." The people were friendly, the staff helpful and the sun was shining.

Disappointed but It Was a Great Day

We queued for a LONG time with a BIG painting only to be finally told by the expert that she couldn't help us and that we should have sent photos in earlier so she could have done some research ahead of time. Nice thought but we were clearly told in the information emails that this wasn't possible. So in the end it was a long wait for "nothing." That aspect was very disappointing but it was a beautiful day, the grounds looked fantastic and everything was set up quite well including the catering.

Excellent day

A most enjoyable day. Everyone we spoke to in the crowd were very happy and excited to be there. I was fortunate enough to speak with Frances in Pictures and Robert in Militaria. Frances was charming and very helpful and Robert was fascinating with the information he gave me. The venue was quite beautiful and the day was made even better by lovely weather.
I would recommend anyone attending to arrive as early as possible as the queues can get quite daunting later on.

A day at the Antiques Roadshow

Wow! What a day we had! Weather was perfect, queue to get in was v short compared to other events I have attended! Didn’t have to queue too long to get our item appraised by the great gentleman Geoffrey Munn! Lovely guy!
What made it more special for me was reuniting with an old school colleague who is one of the experts on the show and whom I’d not seen face to face for over 30 years! Also being fortunate enough to have my picture with and briefly talk to the very lovely, amazing Fiona Bruce whom I have always been very fond of! I was also the first person she came to to ask my opinion on what the mystery objects were in one of the games they do on the show. So am hoping to appear on the show when it’s aired.
Great crew, good rest room facilities so I couldn’t fault the day we had-one of the best I’ve had in a long time!!

Enjoyable Antiques Roadshow Event

At an Antiques Roadshow event, we were lucky to have our item examined by experts, which was the main reason for our going, and all the staff and experts were super-nice, but sadly because of the long queues to go in, then to present our item at reception to be allocated a classification, and finally to see a specialist, we didn't get to rove around to see many other items being appraised. Perhaps the event could have been organised better by assigning items to be appraised to particular specialists, as under 'miscellaneous', the specialist one was randomly assigned to very often passed people on to another who they thought would know more about a particular item than they did, which was very much appreciated, but caused more waiting. And if we had been given a numbered ticket for a specialist, with turns shown on an electronic display, it would have allowed us to wonder around to see more of what was happening until our turn. However, the ticketing organisation and pre-event information was very good. Thanks.

Wonderful experience, a real treat!

Wonderful experience. From booking to execution, well planned and organised. The day at Pitzhanger Manor was so relaxing, we were blessed with consistent sunshine and comfortable temperature. There was quite a bit of queuing but made the merrier by chatting to others and viewing objects others had brought. Many thanks to all those who bring this very much loved series together…….. staff, camera crew & volunteers.

fantastic location and weather…but lots of queues !

It was a fantastic location and weather was amazing but the queues were alwful. Spent most of our time queuing which was such a shame as I would have liked to of wandered round and listened to a few experts . I felt as though those getting valuations should have been restricted as the whole space was just full of queues . However staff / experts were all just brilliant

Very disappointing experience .

Very disappointing experience .. was of the opinion an appointment time would be approx but it’s was just to get in … waited and queued over 2 hours then realised the amount of people in front would take another 2/3 hours more. So decided that we should abort the hope of being seen and left without seeing anyone. Very disappointed and would recommend anyone with the hope of getting a value and expert opinion can take a very long time.

Attend the Antiques Road show at your peril

I went with another person so we had sevaral items. It was great to see the faces in the flesh, so familiar on TV. We did manage to see both the jewelry and pictures experts, but that took up all morning from a 9.00 am start. We came back in the afternooon to queue for the ceramics queue. It was a repeat of the morning's experience but even more so with either only one expeert or none attendiing to the queue. As soon as something interesting to film come along, the expert went off for long periods to film and the queue came to a standstill during that time. We queued in the open sun for 2 and half hours (No water was offered) and as it was getting late and the queue was still 50 yards long we gave up as did a lady in the picture queue with the same story.
