Very enjoyable day

Very enjoyable day! Beautiful setting at Pitzhanger Manor…. everything was very well organised in advance and the day ran like clockwork. It was really nice to be able to wander around and see filming and the experts at close quarters. It was lovely to be able to chat to people from Ealing and to feel so relaxed. The food stalls were of good quality and the stewards and security did a marvellous job! At the end of the day I enjoyed a secret coffee inside Pitzhanger Manor after a look around. Very, very well organised and a superb day! Thank you Lost in TV!

Well organised…

The organisation and helpfulness of the staff was superb. We were very impressed with the friendliness and superb knowledge of the valuers. It was easy get to see the filming of the valuations although pretty difficult to catch what was being said as we were not close enough and the surrounding noises did not help. The weather was amazing which helped to make the day very enjoyable.

Lovely day out to one of the UK's most loved TV shows. There was clear communication beforehand, and everything was so well organised on the day, it made a busy event really enjoyable. Everyone concerned was so friendly and polite, including the experts, the production crew, security staff, and stewards. Highly recommended.

Oh The Queues!!

Acknowledging the tickets are free and the venue was glorious (Pitzhanger Manor) with the added bonus of great weather, the QUEUES are abominable. The poor experts are at the beck and call of the public all day and along with Fiona Bruce, remain courteous and charming. Why can’t all the people who want evaluations nominate their items before they arrive and have no on the day ‘bring alongs’ so the experts know how many people will be approaching them, the guests won’t have to wait literally hours for the expert in the item’s field to be free or finish filming thus reducing the queue quickly. For example I took toys to be evaluated and my expert dealt in furniture so I had to wait until Hilary Kay (delightful lady) had finished filming a specialist segment for over 45 mins. I was taking up a seat at the experts table waiting and the furniture expert was called away to film leaving 3 people waiting for him to return. I was in the miscellaneous queue which was by far the longest, next being jewellery. There MUST be a better system. Maybe employing more experts who don’t film but either highlight possible filmed items or keep the queue going. I would go again but certainly just as a spectator.

As four guests we thoroughly enjoyed our time spent and the experience. The event was well coordinated, though the queues were long the atmosphere was relaxed and the staff and stewards pleasant and helpful. It was lovely to chat along with others queuing whilst waiting to have items valued. The historical venue and weather too were good.

Antiques roadshow

Fabulous day out despite 1.5-2 hours queuing for valuations of pictures/arms and military.
Stewards need to be better informed as to who to contact when things go wrong (especially those stewarding picture queue)Also try to time it better so that all those involved in valuing pictures for example are not taken off for filming at the same time with no replacement so queue did not move for 20 minutes. Catering well organised. Overall a great day out

Antiques Roadshow

Antiques Roadshow, Pitshanger Manor

A lovely day out, communication was excellent throughout and well managed by stewards in the day. A long wait to see the experts but on the whole everything was well organised, plenty to watch whilst waiting. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and thanks for organising the sunshine too

Expertly organised

Expertly organised. Lovely weather and very helpful staff. Everyone we met was so friendly. We had a lovely day at Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery. It was fascinating to see the recording process involved in making one of our favourite TV shows. We even managed to have a picture taken with the Wonderful Fiona Bruce.

Very well organised very friendly my items were "interesting" but not worth a lot which I expected.
It would be good if I knew in advance that none of the BBC experts could read Japanese. That said they were lovely to meet and very gracious to my wife and I. Nice day out thank you.

Antiques Roadshow at Pitzhanger Manor

It was easy to apply for tickets and the information received before the day of recording was complete and thorough. On the day, the queues to see the experts weren't too long and the stewards shepherded us well. The experts were knowledgeable and professional, and also willing to spend time valuing each item. Watching the filming of the experts with owners of the star objects was fun. Overall it was a great day out - a lovely location, sunny weather and professional organisation. The only disappointment was not spotting Fiona Bruce.

Antique Roadshow - from soup to nuts

From start to finish, the organisation was terrific. We were kept fully informed of how to get there and what to expect in the day. We had 9 am tickets so it was a bit of a faff to get there early on public transport on a Sunday. Once we were there the queuing systems were efficient. Yes we had to wait in line a long time but the experts were knowledgeable and respectful. It was lovely weather too.

Antiques Roadshow Be prepared for a lot of queuing, especially if you’re bringing items to be looked at.

Antiques Roadshow Pitzhanger Manor

We had a great day, was so interesting watching all that was going on while we were queuing to see an expert. Really nice atmosphere, helped no doubt by the lovely weather. Hadn’t realised how much organisation goes on behind the scenes! Some wonderful pieces being brought for valuation, absolutely fascinating. All the volunteers and staff were really helpful. So glad we went along!

Antique Roadshow

Antique Roadshow. Wonderful day in the sunshine. Everyone lovely, staff, steward, crew, presenters. Had the best day but sadly nothing of value, so back to the day job. Communication prior was excellent too.

Excellent experts and film crew, but time management poor.

We enjoyed the day. We were pleased to be among the first cohort into the grounds as this minimised the waiting time to see an expert to just half an hour. We were fortunate to be seen quickly by Fuchsia as we brought Antarctic related items. Her knowledge and enthusiasm was exceptional.
Once we were selected for filming, the system fell over. We waited in the rest area for about 2 hours before being given a filming time, but were then not informed that there was considerable slippage to the schedule amounting to about 2 hours and consequently we miss out on circulating around the various exhibits.
It is essential that participants know who their point of contact is and that they are kept up to date with any changes.
The filming aspect was great. The film crew were efficient and Fuchsia was calm and we felt at ease throughout the process.

Its was so well organised right from the acknowledgement that I had got tickets, they even asked if I wanted more, which I did. I felt I was dealing with human. The event itself was brilliant, Antiques Roadshow, relaxing, everyone was kind and helpful. It was a lovely day out.
