Took ages to get a phone number, which is just left to ring unanswered. When I paid (which was difficult to do without a phone), it was dispatched safely and speedily. Mixed feelings.

Awful service - organised theft

Apple AirPods are definitely in Lost Property at Helsinki Airport. They are also definitely being used by one of the employees as the earbuds are being taken out of the case. I have asked repeatedly for them to be returned. I’m geolocating them on a daily basis to their premises at the airport. Next time I’m going through the airport, I’m going to ask a police officer to come with me to have them handed back.

Absolutely amazing service by Rovilena…

Absolutely amazing service by Rovilena who found our baby changing bag lost on the airport parking bus at Stansted Airport. It had a lot of sentimental items in it. So glad to be reunited with it. Thank you.

Totally excellent

Totally excellent. Stupidly left my phone on train at Liverpool street ( from Rayleigh) on 18 July. Reported it immediately but too early for it to have been handed in. Went back about 10pm - still open and same chap I had spoken to earlier was still there and they had my phone. Problem solved, totally pleased with service

Stansted Airport Team - Outstanding!

Thank you to the team at Stansted Airport - they responded quickly to the online form for my lost bag. I also rang with a query on collection and they were prompt picking up the phone and gave me all the information I needed. Great communication and proactive about helping. Bag found and back in my possession within 24 hours.

Lost rucksack on train to Edinburgh

Left my rucksack on the train which was ending it's journey at Edinburgh Station. It had lots of my favourite tops in as well as an ipad and lots of other things. I logged the details on LostProperty.org and about 30 mins after the train arrived in Edinburgh I received an email confirming they had found my rucksack :). I went to Edinburgh to collect and the staff were lovely.

Where logic and service Gets Lost!

After leaving a bag (containing a work laptop) on an airport shuttle bus I quickly rang the bus company - they told me they had handed it into lost property . I could see - via my apple tracking device - that is was indeed still at the airport . I then tried calling lost property (as I was already en route to my next destination 100 miles away). There is no number !! You cannot ring anyone. Instead you have to fill out a form and lodge it in their system. I did this and received an email (quickly actually) to tell me that “no match” was identified and that I should wait a minimum of 48 hours to 7 days -for their databases to be updated. I replied saying I was returning to the airport the next day and that I knew they had it . Their reply was that even if the item was in their possession they couldn’t do anything until it had been “processed”. When I again told them I was flying to Australia and needed the bag - they replied that IF it was found they could ship it to me in Australia (at my expense). They then asked me not to email them for 48 hours. So the next day I rocked up to their desk at Terminal 1 and the helpful chap made a call and located by bag - and 30 mins and £25 later / I collected it . If I hadn’t gone in person who know when I would have seen it again. Why has Manchester Airport outsourced such a useful and much needed service to a company that absolutely cares more about its own processes than it does about customers. If you lose anything with this crowd my advice is to stand at the desk and wait until they wake up and give it back . One star is too generous .

I received a very quick email response…

I received a very quick email response within a few hours of registering the item as lost. The staff at the airport desk were also very helpful and returned my Apple MacBook.

I'm very happy with the outcome and grateful for the service.

I got my phone back...eventually (a poor service)

Positive point: I have eventually received my iPhone back safely

Negative points:
- They texted the postage tracking messages to my 'lost' phone, so I had no status updates
- They overcharge for postage, £24 for an iPhone
- Posting time was 4 days, not the 1-2 days advertised
-You cannot contact them by phone
- They do not answer emails promptly

Returning lost property should be a public service and not handed over to a for-profit organisation. A reasonable handling fee is fair enough to cover costs, plus proportionate postage - but this has cost me £34 overall.

Lost property don’t pick up the phone…

Lost property don’t pick up the phone no matter how many times you call and don’t answer emails either. I had accidentally left my suitcase on the train heading to Edinburgh and I have not been able to contact anybody to do with this. This experience has been very distressing.

Useless, if you need I would recommend to go to the airport!

My partner forgot his laptop on the fast track at Gatwick Airport.
The next day I tried to call them to check if the laptop was there so he could buy a flight to come back to London to collect it. I spent over 45 minutes on the call with the most useless message I have ever heard in a customer service call:
”Your call will be answered in the order it was received, please continue to hold”
Then after 45 minutes, the call dropped. I tried again a couple of times and just gave up.

Slow Responses

Unbelievably slow reaction times.

Rude staff, who don't apologise when they forget to put your cash back in your lost property.

Vague directions given to their office.

Incredibly Speedy Service

I was in a panic to make a rail connection and left a backpack on a train heading to Birmingham. I submitted a detailed list of what I'd lost and attached a photo of the bag so there was no ambiguity. I recieved an email within 10 minutes to say they had a match and the bag was delivered the next day via DHL (in a sturdy box) - everything appears to be there. I'm surprised at just how quick and hassle-free it all was, and I could even have it sent to a relative's house.

£45 for admin and next day delivery was very reasonable, as it would have been a nightmare for me to travel to collect it myself and the value of the items far exceeded the fee.

I was concerned the company was a scam but thought it worth a punt. The email saying they had my bag contained no photo or
description, just generic text, and the subsequent one had limited details so I wasn't sure if they were genuine or if my bag was missing anything. This is why I haven't given 5 stars.

I'm extremely grateful (and relieved) for getting my bag back so quickly. I wish I could thank the very kind person who handed it in personally!

Very impressive service!

I left my backpack which contained my laptop, wallet, cash, souvenirs, etc in a bathroom stall at the North Terminal at about 9pm. I registered my lost item online that night immediately upon noticing it was lost. I returned in person the next morning in hopes my physical presence would help me speak to someone directly. It did, and furthermore, I was handed my backpack from the lost baggage counter (free bc it was soon enough) with a kind note inside from the passenger ops manager letting me know that a passenger handed the bag in, and that the bag would be given to the lost property team.

There were 2 things missing: a small whiskey glass souvenir and a small toiletry bag containing Dior lipstick -- such small losses compared to retrieving the rest of my valuables quickly and in tact. I assume these things were removed before being handed to the airport management. I am so grateful to this team and the thoughtful note was extra kind.

An easy five stars from me. Keep up the great work! Thanks so much for your help!!
