These people are vultures

I recently received a collection correspondence for a utility bill which I have no knowledge of owing as I have lived outside of the UK for over 10 years and have had to pay any bills for 12 years. I have contacted the company to inform them that this isn't enforceable, also that I didn't enter any agreement with this company to make any type of payment to them so I will not be paying them. They are requesting proof of identity from me which I refuse as I have provided my name, customer number and the amount and the utility providers name. Under Under the Limitation Act 1980, debts of this age are typically considered ‘statute-barred’, meaning that they are not enforceable through the court system. As such, I am under no obligation to repay this debt, nor am I required to provide any further personal information. I have informed them that Continued contact on this issue will be considered harassment, which is against the principles of fair and transparent data use under the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR. They have responded to say that they will continue to contact me and they are obliged to continue to tell me the next steps that they will take. These companies are disgusting. They have no morals and do not care about people, they are only interested in money. Ana I read that you deal with buying the debts and therefore you should be aware that people are not obliged to pay you as they have not entered contract with your company to make any kind of payment.

Good morning Teresa,

Thank you for getting back in touch.

I have reviewed your account and I can see you have been in touch and your concerns are been dealt with by the relevant department.

Kind regards,
Ana

Good morning Teresa,

I'm sorry to hear this.

Before we purchase a debt extensive due diligence is completed. However, if a customer had any form of dispute regarding the validity of the debt, we're here to listen and work with them regarding the matter.

Although our customers don't actively choose us, within the terms and conditions agreed when opening the account it will state that the matter can be passed to debt purchaser/collector if those terms and conditions are broken. Once an account has been assigned to us, we can offer lots of affordable and flexible solutions to help them manage their debt realistically.

I'd like to take this opportunity to work with you and ensure we get to the bottom of this. You will shortly receive a message from Trustpilot asking you to provide further information so we can get in touch with you to support you further.

I hope to hear back from you.

Kind regards,
Ana

I would not give this company any stars…

I would not give this company any stars the worst lying corrupt company that i have ever met in my entire life. I hope with me now getting Solicitors involved their company can finally get closed down. They have accused me and Vanquis which they are corrupt as well of owing on my credit card which i don’t as i paid it and so did my dad before i died but guess this they are now wanting the full balance of my credit card even though i have the proof that i have paid it. I also sent the payments to Vanquis to proof that it had been paid and reported it to the Financial Ombudsman and that guy sided with Lowell so was corrupt as well. I now have Solicitors involved and taking legal action and it took me over three years to proof that i didn’t owe my CCJ now finally got it as satisfied but guess who bought it yes Lowell you got it first time. Lowell are so corrupt it is unbelievable.

I have been advising my disabled son…

I have been advising my disabled son about this company, who have been relentlessly chasing him for an alleged debt to O2 , even though O2 have confirmed that he is not liable as he was a victim of fraud. Lowell have been sent copies of written confirmation from 02 to this effect yet still they pursue and harass him.
Incredibly both limited companies listed on Lowell’s letterhead have been subject to compulsory strike off orders, yet they still act for O2. The letterhead refers to Lowell Portfolio I, which is in default of its obligations . Only Lowell Portfolio IV (which isn’t mentioned on their letterhead) is up to date at Companies House, though it is dormant, and was served notice of compulsory strike off before it submitted up to date accounts. They make false claims on their their website. Sadly the laxity of our laws allow the Directors to carry on like this.

For over a year I got automated phone…

For over a year I got automated phone calls for a random name that has never lived at my address. The caller didn't say who they were but googling the numbers gave me Lowell.

Blocking the calls didn't work I still got messages on my answer machine. I reported them to various agencies and they eventually stopped.

Now I'm getting letters for another name, for a debt that was originally owed to EE. Again for someone who doesn't live at my address. This first came up years ago with another recovery agency who apologised and said my address would be removed from their records. It looks like the debt has been sold again and now these clowns have it.

I'd contact them but looking at their reviews that would be a bad idea. I'm not giving them any more of my details than they already have. I know what would happen if I did this.

The debt is for a massive fifty quid I wonder how much Lowell paid for it?
I've sent their latest letter, which have got more threatening, back to them "not known at this address". I somehow doubt that will be the end of it.

I guess they send thousands of these letters and make thousands of these calls hoping some receivers will pay up to get them off their back. I don't know how their workers can sleep at night.

The template replies on here are funny to read though. The pretence that they only harass their "customers" because they are there to help them is so pathetic it's beyond laughable. They only care about getting money by any means. If the person they are harassing isn't the right person, well who cares, as long as somebody pays. What a shocking way to run a business.

Geting letters from these clowns as…

Geting letters from these clowns as well as from Overdales saying I owe a debt I have never heard of dating back to 2015. They claim to have sent the details of the debt (I have no debts, I have never used credit or had a loan etc so I know I have no debts) but the date they say to have started the claim/CCJ is from 2019 and was sent 1 month after a moved home to my old address. Convenient That. I Have left a review for Overdales and will not be providing any further evidence to Lowells either (Overdales review has been confirmed, this is the same thing so must also be confirmed unless the Overdales one is false, which I will be happy to show anybody coming to my door) as I know that if I wait just 1 more year the time limit for getting the debt will be over and the debt (that does not exist) will be written off. I have severe mental health issues, one of which is I am diagnosed as having ASPD (Sociopath) amongst other things. Keep sending the letters and wasting money and trees, I do not mind and shall just continue returning to sender. But you are not going to get a penny from me for something that is nothing to do with me.
I am giving no more information to you con artists, that would just be foolish of myself and I am Definitely not giving over ANY contact information so I can be hounded another way for a debt that doesn't exist. I have already provided evidence to make the Overdales review verified and this is for the exact same non existent debt. I shall wait the year out and get it written off. But if this review gets removed because Lowells believes it to be fake then I shall happily show it to anybody they send as proof they shouldn't be there (why would you send people to get something you admit to be fake?)

Think we need half stars

Think we need half stars. Absolutely unhelpful. Total bunch of cowboys. Customer service is shocking. Unsure if they understand the word of being polite. They were supposed to be looking into a case and put Absolutely.no effect in. They work on behalf if O2. Don't get me started on that. They took over Virgin mobile who I had never used. Had a FREE sim with them then O2 decided to bill me for it. I look forward to posting on their website.

They do no want new client business...

Called them today, to become a business CUSTOMER. It was impossible to speak to someone, said the receptionist. I really had to email them. I asked why I could not speak to anybody. She actually said she did not know. Wen stating I already doubt their efficiency right now, by saying NO to a potential customer for new business, she said "yeah I understand not trustworthy". Followed by "but please email us". I said I'd take my business elsewhere...

Conmen & Sharks Do not trust them at all

Do not trust them at all. Sharks Chasing Money.
They convinced me not to go bankrupt, or do an IVA.
But to pay off my debt.
So I did and had to wait until 12 months for my credit score to improve.
Guess what.
They recorded 5 defaults against me.
How bad is that
I went months without good nutrition as made myself skint paying these over inflated debts.
Paying it all off absolute disgrace.
I now have to wait a further 3 years for what she promised.
When all they had to do when I called to complain was remove the defaults but to no avail
Don't be fooled by there nice voice and tone.
They took advantage of me.
I am mentally unwell and registered disabled.
I tried to take my own life because of how they treated me.
Shame on them
Hopefully I will make a full recovery.
But it's hard knowing you've been deceived and are very vulnerable.
I hope Karma comes for the company owners, there employees also the person who trained her and the person who took pleasure in conning me.

Good morning Russell,

Thank you for getting back to us with the details requested. I can confirm I have reviewed your account and the concern you raised has been dealt with by the relevant department and a resolution has been communicated via the email address you have provided.

In most cases, a default has already been registered on customers credit file before it's sold to Lowell and it will be visible for up to six years.

As the data controller of our customer's account we have a duty to ensure all information reporting on their credit file is accurate.

If you haven't received the final response or you wish to discuss it further please don't hesitate to contact us via phone, live chat or website.

Hope this helps,
Ana

Good morning Russell,

I am sorry you feel this way.

Once a default has been registered on a customers credit file, it will remain there for up to six years. When customer takes steps to clear their debt, we'll ensure all payments are reflected on their credit file within 30-50days. Then once the account has been paid in full, we'll update the credit reference agencies and ensure the default also states it has been satisfied.

To support you with your concerns and investigate the matter I've sent you a direct message.
