I selected a dress, placed the order, and my payment went through but it turned out that the item wasn’t in stock and wouldn’t be shipped until three weeks later. I didn’t revive a confirmation email so I reached out to the help email contact and they informed me of the issue. I needed this dress for my birthday on March 20th. The order information also said it has an estimated ship time for March 2nd, which is odd considering it wasn’t in stock. I put 3 stars because the customer service was very thorough and helpful and treated the situation with importance, which I appreciate! I understand how it would be difficult to keep up with all the updates and notifications settings on the website. They gave me options that I could choose from to go forward with. I had to ask them to cancel the order for me, for a refund, because there was no way on my end to cancel the order. The order was canceled upon request and I revived my refund. Thank you!

My dress was taking a while and wasn't shipping, so I emailed the support team, and they responded quickly! Turned out there was an issue with the packaging, and they gave me a full refund to original payment quickly! It all went very fast and smoothly :)

I was having technical issues with printing a return label. I sent an email to the customer service email address. Within 24 hours, I got a reply back with a return label. Worked out great!

I want to share my experience ordering from Lucy in the Sky because it ended up being one of the worst online shopping experiences I’ve had.
I placed a fairly large order totaling **$388.75 USD**. I’m located in Canada and frequently order from U.S. stores, so I’m familiar with paying some duties at delivery. Normally those charges are around **$10–$20**, which is reasonable. However, when my order arrived I was charged **hundreds of dollars in additional tariffs/duties** that were never clearly disclosed during checkout. This dramatically increased the total cost of the order.
Had there been a clear warning or estimate of duties of this size before payment, I would not have placed the order. Charges that large materially change the real price of the purchase.
I contacted customer support immediately and explained the situation politely. I wasn’t even asking for a full refund — I asked if they could **partially reimburse the duties** or offer some kind of solution. Unfortunately, the response I received was essentially that duties are the customer’s responsibility and that I could return the items if I wanted.
The problem is that **most of the items in my order were marked final sale**, meaning returning them wasn’t even a realistic option. So I was left absorbing hundreds of dollars in unexpected costs with no real solution.
What was most disappointing was the lack of effort to resolve the issue.
• No partial refund
• No goodwill credit
• No future discount
• No attempt to meet in the middle
After a few emails, they simply **stopped responding altogether**.
After this experience, I looked more closely at reviews online and noticed that many other customers have reported issues with **shipping, unexpected fees, customer service, and quality concerns**. Unfortunately, my experience seems consistent with those complaints.
As someone who shops online frequently and has ordered internationally many times, I understand that duties can happen. But **clear disclosure and reasonable customer service matter**, especially when charges reach hundreds of dollars.
I’m sharing this so other international customers — especially Canadians — are aware before placing large orders.
We like the affordable dresses. Customer service is great. Would like to get refunds instead of store credit.
