There’s a real-life story in each work of art, which is more often than not inspired by the sights and sounds of her life in the Yorkshire Dales and those closest to her. Now a multi award-winning artist, proudly running a family-owned business with a website serving international customers, three beautiful art galleries and a great team, read on to find out how the world of Lucy Pittaway came to fruition. Graduating from Northumbria University with a degree in Graphic Design, Lucy forged a career as a designer before moving into teaching and lecturing at Darlington Technical College of Art and Design. Intrigued by the world outside the North East, Lucy quit her job at the age of 30, to travel to the Far East, where she ended up in South America and began teaching in Peru. They say the greatest things happen when we are not expecting them… and on a fleeting visit back to the UK, Lucy was reunited with her childhood sweetheart Neil, who persuaded her not to return to Peru, and instead stay in Yorkshire. They went on to get married and start a family, which is the subject of much of Lucy’s work today. Once their twins started school, she felt it was the perfect time to pursue her lifelong dream and give life as a professional artist a try. So, she began working from her small home studio, creating one off commissions and prints for exhibitions. Fast forward to today, and you’ll find Lucy’s work in homes and galleries across the UK and international destinations.

Stunning Lucy Pittaway diary
I always have a Lucy Pittaway diary and I was genuinely excited when I received an email that they were available in July and I ordered mine straight away and I chose the Sycamore Gap one.
The service was very swift and I was kept fully informed regarding the delivery which took a couple of days.
The image on the front is of the highest quality and brings a smile to my face every time I use it. This image is also replicated inside in a faded colour on each page and there are many additional pages too. All in all it is a stunningly, beautiful diary.
The first thing I noted in my diary was my wish for a Sycamore Gap print for Christmas!!

First of all I want to say I love lucy…
First of all I want to say I love lucy pittaway and have it all over my house .I normally go to the gallery in Yarm who are amazing 👏 I was visiting Harrogate on 14th july and couldn't resist and go in to treat myself. The gallery looks beautiful but when we walked in the staff didn't say anything they seemed to be more interested in chatting I felt there was a atmosphere but we carried on having a look around they still didn't really bother with us so we decided to wait till we went to Yarm again and purchase there .Its a shame because the gallery is so lovely but I suppose areas are different 😕 .
