Purchased a luggie from luggie scooters, leigh. Nothing but problems and they seem unable to fix it properly.

Highly Recommend
Could not recommend this company more highly. We needed a mobility solution for my Aunty but didn't know where to start. The staff at the showroom were extremely knowledgeable and helpful and made the experience a pleasure. They knew exactly what would suit her needs based on what she required. She is one very happy mobile lady :-)
Hi how can I get an inverter to charge…
Hi how can I get an inverter to charge my luggie elite in the car I live in Western Australia
… 5 stars
You get what you pay for… 5 stars on friendliness and quality … I’ve had a cheap one in the past which I part exchanged as it lasted 12months before it broke! Then the company didn’t want to know! I can tell the quality of this is much better and also love the lifetime warranty!
Love My Luggie!
I absolutely love my Luggie Elite Scooter! I have had it for four years. It has made travel so much more enjoyable. I have taken it on many trips here in the US and abroad. It works so well. It's compact, quiet and speedy! Getting around airports is a breeze. We check it at the plane gate and it's there for me, when we land. It's small enough to maneuver in the tightest restaurants and shops. If something happened to it, I would want another just like it!
Fantastic service
Such a great company! Had a problem with my Luggie, Chloe was fantastic, quickly booked me in and had the issue sorted. Great service and so happy to have my Luggie back. 😊
Had my 3 year old Luggie serviced today…
Had my 3 year old Luggie serviced today by Jordan. I must say what a credit to the company he is. I had a fault on the scooter (power light not working) which he explained in detail what was needing fixing as well as the service which he carried out professionally.
The whole process from booking my home service to having the work done was flawless.
the Luggie they expanded their radius of activity
My parents were on vacation recently and they were very glad that they had the Luggie. By mistake we got the Cottage which was furthest away from the Restaurant and all other activities. But fortunately, we had the Luggie with us 😊. My concerns that they’ll stop walking were allayed because with the Luggie they expanded their radius of activity and because they have to share one between the two of them, one always had to walk. So, when they returned after the week, they were both in a better condition than before – which is really great. And especially my mom, who is the weaker of them, enjoyed that she could finally visit locations, which are unreachable by car. The Luggie even worked quite well on gravel roads (if the gravel was not too deep), only once she needed to get up and I carried it over the worst gravel – it was piled up near a crossing.
Luckily, it was no problem especially for my mom to get on and off and I organized them a bicycle lock, so that they can lock it in public area at a bicycle stand.
My mom is always afraid that she’ll run out of battery and only after some “fights” I persuaded her, that she didn’t need to load the battery, because the display turns to yellow.
Folding and unfolding and storing in the car was usually done by me – everything is easy to be done despite putting the seat up and down. The handle is already a wee bit easier to push but sometimes it refuses so before they get frustrated I did it for them. At home, the Luggie has his place in the garage – unfolded, so they don’t need to struggle when I’m not around.
My mom, who is still driving a car quite well (only with walking she has her troubles), played already around with the speed knob and the Luggie couldn’t go fast enough 😉, when parking or driving through narrow passages, she turns the speed down in straight open areas like walkways she turns it up, but she’s always very careful when turning to avoid tipping the Luggie over. I had to take my bike to follow her, because always running in the summer is not funny. Inclines and declines were no problem for the Luggie, the real test for this we will make in August, then we’re on holiday in a very hilly countryside.
Kind regards
Gaby
Do not buy Luggie scooters
I bought my scooter Elite during lockdown (July 2020), thus it didn't get used and after lockdown it wasn’t used much because I was one of the vulnerable so 18 months after buying it I am using it only to discover it tips backwards on any incline. If it wasn’t for my daughter and strangers I don’t know where I would be. I contacted the customer services today for them to offer me a part exchange only. I told them that I felt it was not fit for purpose and it was dangerous but they were insistent they could only do a part exchange. How can anyone throw good money after bad. I’m not giving them a penny more. In my opinion they are swindlers that prey on disabled people. Awful company.
In response to your reply. The scooter has almost tipped over on no less than four occasions. The slopes were meant for mobility scooters and wheelchairs. In fact one occasion was at an Airshow with only a slight raised area going from the grass to a flat area with a raise of about 4-5 inches maximum and again strangers had to catch me. This is my third mobility scooter (all folding) and I have never had this issue before. I have spoken to your company on three occasions and no one wants to help at all unless I buy another scooter from you.

I have had my Luggie since 2005 and have very few problems. I have just replaced the little roller wheel and recently the lever I use to lower the front handlebar I rang Luggie to ask about how to get it repaired and to sort out the actual parts. The lady I spoke to explained and all I I needed was a handy person and it could done at my home. She also emailed me a video showing how to do it. She was very very helpful and patience. My scooter is now repaired and I was very pleased with the service I was given Thank you Luggie team.

Very professional and pleasant people to deal with. They made me feel valued as a customer and breached the barrier that my disablement often throws up when dealing with people outside my normal known circle. Indeed they were even polite enough to laugh at my jokes. So thanks very much and well done the staff at lugging. You made my purchasing journey painless and now my journey begins on my new scooter. Xx

Plaudits to the Luggie company and staff.
I just wanted to let you know how delighted I am with my new Super Plus scooter, which I received in part exchange for my older Super Luggie model.
The main reason I opted for this upgrade was to take advantage of the wider measurement between the two front wheels by increasing stability, as I felt my previous model was vulnerable to overturning on steep cambered pavements. I also like the thicker rear tyres and suspension. The colour I chose, titanium grey is lovely.
I would also like to mention that your representative/demonstrator was fantastic; his professionalism and pleasing manner really shone through. He answered all our questions and any concerns that we might have, and could not do enough for us. Finally, I would like to say that the whole process of purchase from start to finish was excellent.
Thank you.

Review of my experience with Luggie Scooters Firm.
My entire dealings with Luggie Scooters was first rate - from the first telephone enquiry to the delivery of the scooter, the rider experience and the after service. The employees of the company clearly understand the needs of those with a disability and understand how to create a friendly, pleasant customer experience. The marketing brochure is of high quality and covers very clearly the specifications of each scooter allowing the customer to narrow down which one would suit his/her needs the best. There is a very helpful spreadsheet outlining the prices and what the outgoings would be for the different options of payment. The chap who was assigned to me arrived on time with one of each scooter available in a van. He was fully knowledgeable about the scooters and their performance capabilities and was kind, courteous, pleasant and personable whilst answering all of my many questions fully and patiently. I was able to make a firm decision about which scooter to purchase after seeing the rep demonstrate how to use it and then allowing me to have an accompanied trial round the streets where I live. I am fully satisfied with my scooter and when there was a small problem (of my own making) I simply contacted my seller and he sorted it out immediately. I would highly recommend Luggie Scooters to anyone needing a well designed, reliable mobility scooter that can be folded down in seconds and lifted into the boot of an average sized car.
Expensive for a scooter with limited uses.
I have Parkinson’s disease, which involves periods of reduced mobility. I have been using the Luggie scooter for two years and have mixed views about its usefulness in certain circumstances. The scooter was purchased by my partner as we both have a disability.
This scooter is great for use around a big complex like a hospital and has helped reduce my anxiety about my mobility switching off when attending hospital appointments.
I find that the Luggie scooter is unreliable when used outdoors. The battery keeps jumping out of position when I drive over a slight bump, such as a dropped kerb, which put me in danger as it happened when I was crossing the road one day, leaving me stuck in the middle of moving traffic. It would be useful to have a spare battery as a full charge takes a long time and the price paid includes just one battery. I was recently on holiday in Padstow and a member of bar staff said her mum has the same scooter but was looking into returning it, as the battery shot out frequently when driving over the cobbled paving.
The adjustable pinch clamps on the steering column (for height) work loose regularly and frequently need readjusting. I like that the scooter folds down flat, but folding is manual and requires some physical effort, although when folded the scooter is quite portable. Although there is a technique for getting it in and out of a car, a level of ability to lift 20 kilos is required, so if you have a disability which fluctuates, you may need an able bodied person with you for folding/unfolding and loading/unloading. I also like the turning circle making it easy to manoeuvre but on occasion the steering column has jerked out of my hands when it rides over a twig or pebble feeling as though in some circumstances it can tip over.
The scooter is fine on a cruise ship or a shopping centre, when the floors are flat and the steering and turning makes it easy to get round even crowded ships and shops.
It is important to check that the seat is locked in place before sitting on the scooter, there were two red stickers indicating this but these wore off and now I don’t have the visual check and had an occasion when the seat partially collapsed as I sat on it.
There is no key for this scooter so if you have to leave it, then you have to remove the battery and some people might need assistance to do this.
Overall I do not feel that the Luggie scooter is good value for money as it has many limitations and doesn’t function as I want it to in some circumstances.

Scooter service.
Recently sent off my mobility scooter for a service for the first time, I was rather anxious that nothing should go amiss as I depend on it for getting around.
My concerns were unfounded though as the collection, servicing and return delivery (all arranged by Luggie), went exactly as promised.
I contacted the service team several times for updates and the staff were always patient and helpful, calling me on occasion to put my mind at rest.
The whole operation was concluded in just five days, including the weekend!
An excellent service all round.
