Fantastic experience & great music choices. Hopefully more can happen in Tarporley :)

First experience of Lumos event & we loved it!! The musicians were fantastic, the Coldplay set was amazing!!
Only reason it didn’t get 5stars was the venue - church pews were really uncomfortable & only one loo for everyone.

The venue has terrible acoustics! The music appeared well played but sounded tinny with high distortion. Every sound was bouncing off the stone walls which line the narrow church. Furthermore, the cellist who was the only performer to speak used the church’s electronic sound system via hand microphone. That sound was so distorted that we could not understand a single word! There was not program handed out. Therefor we did not get any information about the pieces they played. A frustrating event!
Finally, the hard seats (church pews) were very uncomfortable.

We had a wonderful evening at the Lumos Experience (Coldplay) at our beautiful church in Dumbarton.
We were treated to music from an exceptionally talented trio of musicians. Their repertoire was outstanding, as was the candlelit atmosphere. Thank you to all who took part and the lovely team of people behind the scenes who were welcoming and so pleasant. We would definitely attend one of these concerts again.

Awesome experience with ABBA music! My wife and I had a fantastic time at Poughkeepsie last night!

Music and setting were very good. Could not understand a word that was announced. Printing tickets was a total disaster. Why isn't there a phone number to call ? Had to cancel credit card over the ordeal. Never Again !

The music was beautiful and fun at the same time. The setting was so pretty-loved all the candles! I would encourage anyone to attend and would attend another Lumos experience myself.

Fantastic experience last night - Fleetwood Mac at The Church of St Mary, Cottingham.
A wonderful setting beautifully lit in which to enjoy three superb musicians perform some of our favourite music in arrangement for strings.
The crew were very courteous and professional. (Must mention Toby in particular!!).
Thank you all giving us a memorable, special evening.
Highly recommend this experience and will be following events.

The music was amazing, the church was a perfect venue. But we’ve missed the magical spark of the whole romantic candlelight experience because of the daylight. The sun was shining inside through the windows. It was as if there were no candles. We thought that was very unfortunate.

What a lovely setting and great talented musicians, loved it. I do feel they could have advertised it more, even a board on the road beside the church for a few days would bring the crowds in. Price is steep for the experience, but it was special and I thoroughly enjoyed the hour.

We enjoyed an incredible array of Beatle music played by an extremely talented string trio. The setting was beautiful with all the candles. The staff was organized and very friendly! Such a wonderful, memorable performance!

The three women on violin, viola and cello were PHENOMENAL! We were told they had just met and had an hour practice. Their sound was flawless. Their stage presence was impeccable. The pieces they played were so emotional.
I had never heard of Lumos before, but I will be a lifetime groupie.
Well done!!

Extremely nice venue and looked very much in keeping with the music of the evening when decorated with the mass of s was fm light candles. the sound was fine and the three musicians played, spoke and dressed impeccably . my only negative point would be the cost for an hour was quite expensive I would have preferred a longer concert with a drinks break covering the two hours rather than having two separate concerts, I understand this would not have been as financially viable to have one longer concert ( we would have payed a bit more) but two separate ones felt rushed , I think most people would have preferred the split longer concert, otherwise very pleasant evening.

I really enjoyed the performance (and the tiny bit of audience interaction), but have dropped 1 star simply because the runtime is so short at 1h. 20-30 min more and it would be 5 stars.
The setup with electric candles also gave a nice atmosphere in the church environment.
Given the nature of the venues, you really don't need to be spending double to sit at the front (it's not a play after all), and i could hear the music perfectly well from the back so save those pennies.
Lumos and/or venue staff where also helpful providing my wife and I with mugs of water when we forgot to bring our bottles.

Very overpriced for three musicians. No working microphone for person who did the commentary couldn’t hear a word. Paid more for ‘gold seating’ due to having a better view. Couldn’t see anything over the heads of other people due to it being pews in a church and being in the middle did not afford a good view. People walked out unsurprisingly. If we had paid £10 each fair enough - but £60 is a rip off. Asked for a refund and just given an AI response. Don’t waste your money.

The location was changed and we were not told. We arrived at St Marys Church Axminster and it was locked and silent. We found out there was a second, tiny chapel called St Marys an 8 minute uphill walk away. We had to run to it, in case we then had to return to the first church, perhaps it was closed for a break. The second church was also closed. We began jogging back by now I had blistered as my sensible, flat evening shoes are not made for running. (I'm a long distance hiker so not one to complain at walking, with the right footwear) We met three other people also confused and walking to the second church. We all headed back to main church, my son had to carry me as it was too painful. We asked two passersby, one said there was some event on at the townhall. we looked on Lumos website and it said the venue had changed to it. I had to walk barefoot to townhall and enter, late, interuupting other people's viewing, missing the first song. It took a while to calm down and enjoy the performance, The staff were very nice, the music was very good, but I was a little disappointed at just three musicians, expecting an orchestra. Also it only lasted one hour but I booked because it was for my son's and my birthdays and as it was his favourite composer. Between booking and the event date, Lumos are very keen to send emails advertising other events but don't bother to let you know, once you have paid, that the venue has changed.
