Very dissapointed…

Due to the queues- there is no chance to drop off and leave within 10 minutes. It is a rip-off. Staff were also ignorant and even arrogant.

Good experience

The staff were very welcoming on arrival. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. i had to leave early in the morning for my flight, at 3.30am, but was given a paper bag at reception and told to help myself to what I wanted from the breakfast bar to take with me.

£4.90 for a 4 minute DART ride from…

£4.90 for a 4 minute DART ride from Luton Airport to Luton Parkway; just to connect passengers to onward trains that you should already be making easy to reach? Seriously? Heathrow’s ones were always free. So much for saving money by flying through Luton. Worst experience ever!

Too infrequent service

5 of us flew back into Luton. It was a nightmare. Signages were not clearly obvious. We missed a train by minutes so had to wait forever for the next arrival.

The Luton Express trains should be far more frequent than it is currently for it to be useful to travellers.

As is, that’s the first and last time we will fly in or out of Luton Airport.

Ticket for Parking

My parents-in-law, who are in their 70s, recently arrived at Luton Airport. I used the Express Parking at Luton Airport and encountered a frustrating experience. While leaving, I did not see any pay barriers or clear instructions about making payment after exiting, nor did I see reminders to ‘please pay online after leaving.’ It did not seem safe or reasonable to stop or reverse against traffic to find the pay station. Unfortunately, a week later, I received a parking charge. I believe that clearer signage or reminders at the exit would significantly help to prevent this type of confusion.

Furthermore, the situation did not end there. I received the penalty and paid it on 06/12/24 at 8:53:18, and I received confirmation that my payment was completed. However, I recently received a letter from Debt Collectors stating that I have to pay £165 due to the aforementioned parking ticket. I could not find my payment in the transactions on my bank app. Therefore, I contacted the bank and asked for clarification. They confirmed that the payment was REVERTED by the RECEIVER. After spending an entire day phoning the Debt Collector, APCOA, and Luton Airport, I understood that I cannot appeal now, as my case falls outside the appeal term.

Please check your Luton penalty payment five days after making it to avoid ending up in the hands of Debt Collectors.

Advanced fares not worth the stress.

Badly labelled tickets resulted in stressful journey and a penalty fare.

The train time on my ticket was 10:20 but when I arrived at Luton Airport Parkway from the shuttle there was no 10:20 train. There was one scheduled for 10:30 running late, but a train pulled into the platform at at 10:05 so I got on that. However the ticket checker on the said my ticket was invalid, that my train was at 10:30 and therefore had to buy another ticket for £23. He said that the time on the ticket was for the shuttle I should take and referred me to the email itinerary. This was not however specified in the itinerary. I left the matter lie because I have read about people getting criminal prosecutions for mix ups like this.

I would avoid the advanced fare when travelling from Luton airport. If you have a late train connection or delayed flight it would be very stressful and expensive. If you follow the itinerary and take a shuttle 10 minutes before your train you will not have a lot of time to change trains. If you are on a budget I suggest the coach to Golders Green then tube otherwise pay the full fare.

I would give less stars if I could

I would give less stars if I could. Absolutely insane that they don’t tell anywhere that you have to get a seperate ticket to this random DART shuttle from the airport. They say that tickets are available on Trainline, but they are not, and even knowing the Luton Parkway scam and just getting Luton tickets still doesn’t help. Avoid at all cost.

What a rip off!

What a rip off!! Bought an online ticket from ‘Luton Airport Parkway’ heading north and when I tried to hop the Dart shuttle, I was told to pay £4.90 for a one stop, one minute ride! I don’t know any other UK airport that charges for its rail shuttle?! Fuming, I bought a ticket and headed to Parkway, only to be stopped at the gates for my platform and refused entry to my EMR train. I was told to wait in a corner for an hour before I could access the platform. The same DART employee sneered and said “That’s what you get with advance tickets!” Though why he was operating an EMR gate I do not know. Totally appalled by DART and hope never to use them again. I’m walking the 500 yards on my return!!
