This company is ran by unethical members. They say 30 day money back guarantee and then once you try and enact this they hid behind their terms of service thats isn't even highlighted on their pricing page. Very shady business practices

Hi Austin,

Thank you for sharing your perspective!

To clarify, our 30-day money-back guarantee applies to new purchases only, not renewals, because a full year of access becomes active immediately when a renewal processes. This policy is not hidden or applied silently, we require every customer to read and agree to the Terms of Service during checkout before any payment is completed. We encourage all customers to review those terms carefully so they know exactly how their subscription works, including renewals and refund eligibility.

We never want anyone to feel misled, which is why we make sure the agreement is acknowledged at purchase instead of being buried or bypassed. If you still have questions about your billing or account, please feel free to reach out at support@luxalgo.com or through live chat and we’ll be happy to assist.

Scam-level customer service.

Charged for a subscription I couldn't cancel because their system locked me out - and I have the evidence to prove it
I was charged for an annual renewal on November 30th for an account I could not access.
Here's the timeline:

November 21st: I attempted to log in to cancel before renewal. Password reset didn't work. No email ever arrived. I have browser history proving this.
November 30th: I was charged for renewal — still locked out, still unable to cancel.
December 1st at 10:04 PM: I finally received a password reset email. Conveniently AFTER they already took my money.

This is not a case of forgetting to cancel. I tried nine days before renewal. Their system simply did not send the reset email until after I was charged.

When I contacted support, their AI chatbot ran me in circles and refused to connect me with a human. When I finally got a human via email, they offered a partial "goodwill" refund and threatened to fight any chargeback with my bank. No apology. No acknowledgment that their system failed.
I run an online business myself. When our email systems fail customers, we fix it and refund them. We don't argue, threaten, and offer partial refunds like we're doing them a favour.
I have screenshots of everything:

Browser history showing my login attempt on Nov 21st
Password reset email only arriving Dec 1st - after the charge
Billing confirmation showing I was charged Nov 30th

I find it concerning that password reset functionality appeared to fail during the Black Friday renewal window, only to resume after billing had occurred.

Do not subscribe. If you ever need to cancel, good luck. Their system will lock you out and they'll charge you anyway.

UPDATE (Dec 4th) — Response to LuxAlgo's reply:

Thank you for proving my point.

You've asked me to contact support - I already did. Your support team offered a partial "goodwill" refund and explicitly stated you would dispute any chargeback with my bank. That's not "making it right."

Let me address your claims directly:

"Our system cannot intentionally block cancellations."
I never said it was intentional. I said your password reset system failed. Whether through negligence or technical failure, the result was the same: I could not access my account to cancel.

"Password reset emails are automated and timestamped, not manually delayed."
Perfect. Then your logs will show exactly what I'm saying: I requested a reset on November 21st. The email arrived December 1st. Nine days. After the charge. If your system is automated and timestamped as you claim, you already have proof of this failure.

"If something failed on our end, we absolutely want to correct it."
You're saying this publicly, but privately your support team already refused to fully correct it. So which is it?

I have browser history, email timestamps, and billing records. You have server logs. If you're confident your system worked properly, publish the timestamps showing when my reset was requested versus when it was sent.

I'm happy to resolve this - with a full refund, not a partial one offered as "goodwill" while threatening to fight my bank.

Thanks for taking the time to share your perspective.

We’re genuinely sorry your experience felt stressful... No one should feel locked out when trying to manage their account. That's not the standard we set.

Our system cannot intentionally block cancellations. A renewal cannot go through if a cancellation request is completed beforehand — our billing system simply doesn’t allow it.

Password reset emails and support replies are automated and timestamped, not manually delayed or triggered “after charging.” We’d never manipulate access around renewal dates.

We don’t want anyone charged if they were genuinely unable to cancel, and we take cases like this seriously. If there was a technical issue that interfered with your ability to manage your account, we’ll review the logs and make it right.

Please contact us at support@luxalgo.com using the email that's linked with your account! If something failed on our end, we absolutely want to correct it.

I have had good luck with Luxalgo in…

I have had good luck with Luxalgo in the past. That changed. I reupped last year, did not ust at all and decided to not renew. The autorenewal kicked in and I was billed $479.88, tried to contact support and they will not refund. Said it was part of the terms. Not only that but there black friday price is 70% off and they did not even offer to give me that price and refund the difference. This is it for me for such shabby treatment. There is no phone number published for them so good luck with their AI bot.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, we appreciate you taking the time.

Our Black Friday pricing is a one-time promotional offer for new purchases made during the sale period. As with most subscription services, promotional discounts don’t carry over into future renewals, and renewals are charged at the standard rate unless the subscription has been cancelled beforehand. That renewal policy is communicated at checkout and in the Terms of Service agreed to at signup.

Regarding support: we do not offer phone service, but you can always speak directly with a real support agent through our live chat or by emailing support@luxalgo.com. Our team is happy to assist with billing questions, subscription management, and any help needed with the platform.

We’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t match your expectations, and we’ll continue working to improve how clearly we communicate renewal terms moving forward. Thank you again for your feedback.

Unfair Auto-Renewal Pricing vs. Thanksgiving Sale – Refund Requested

Without any prior notice, I was charged the full subscription price during the Thanksgiving period. I contacted LuxAlgo support the same day, but they were unwilling to adjust the charge to the sale price or even a price closer to the promotion.

Recommendation: Turn off auto-renewal with LuxAlgo. Otherwise, you risk being charged double or even triple what new customers pay during sale periods.

Hi Aruna,

Thank you for sharing your experience. I do want to clarify one important point, because it may help others reading this:

Although promotional pricing applies only to new purchases made during a sale period, our team reviewed your account and made a one-time courtesy adjustment for you shortly after you reached out. That type of accommodation is outside our standard renewal policy, and we offered it specifically to help in your situation.

So while we completely understand your concern about renewals during sale periods, saying that we were “unwilling to adjust the charge” doesn’t reflect what actually happened. We always encourage customers to contact us right away if there’s a misunderstanding, and we try our best to do what we can — just as we did here.

If you ever need more help, you’re always welcome to reach us directly at support@luxalgo.com

LuxAlgo is a scam business

My annual subscription renewed automatically without any notification and I was charged $479.88 - they did notify me about the charge though.
When I attempted to contact support, I got no response.
They're very well aware that people assume they're going to be notified for an auto-renewal ( like with any legitimate company ) and exploit that.
Stay clear of LuxAlgo.

Hi Dusan,

Thanks for taking the time to share your concerns. Auto-renewal is enabled by default when a subscription is purchased, and it remains active unless it’s cancelled from the customer’s account. The renewal and pricing are detailed at checkout and in the Terms of Service, which every subscriber agrees to before payment.

We definitely don’t want anyone to feel unheard! Our support team does reply to all inquiries, and if your message didn’t reach us for any reason, we’d really like to fix that. We’re more than happy to look into your renewal and answer any questions directly.

Whenever you’re ready, please contact us at support@luxalgo.com
or via the live chat on our website — just make sure to message us from the same email used for your subscription so we can locate your account.

We’ll be glad to help sort this out fairly. 👍

Steer clear from this business

Steer clear from this business. I was charged full price for an Ultimate Subscription yearly renewal even though the Black Friday sale is still active.

I contacted customer support the same day I was charged and was told I cannot request a refund per the "Terms of Service" because the refund request is 30 days FROM THE INITIAL PAYMENT.

I was not informed that a renewal is coming up (as most similar businesses do each year), and now I cannot get a refund.

Just a terrible way to run a business, they obviously don't care about long-term customer retention. I'll make sure to inform everyone I know to stay away.

Hi there, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback.
We’re sorry to hear the renewal wasn’t expected.

Just to clarify, our Black Friday sale applies only to new purchases made during the promotion window. Promotional pricing does not carry over into future renewals, which is standard for subscription services. Renewals continue at the standard yearly rate unless the plan is cancelled beforehand, and that renewal policy is displayed at checkout, on our pricing page, and in the Terms of Service.

Regarding the refund request, the policy you mentioned hasn’t changed: the 30-day window applies to new purchases, not renewals, since a full additional year of access becomes active immediately once a renewal processes. For that reason, renewals are not covered under the satisfaction guarantee.

That said, if you reach out to our support team through live chat or at support@luxalgo.com using the same email tied to your account, we’ll be happy to make sure your subscription is set exactly how you want it moving forward and help prevent any future renewals you don’t intend.

We appreciate the feedback and will keep working to make renewal expectations even clearer for customers in the future.
