They switched automatic pop-up randomly, no matter of settings in your app. NEVER save your bank cards in the app, because you cannot control charges then.

I bought a SIM card that is not…

I bought a SIM card that is not working.
I called the lyca operator and they said there is nothing they can do about it. I asked if the card was useless and if I could throw it to the trash. They said yes.
My advice, stay away and spend your money elsewhere.

Totally ripped off

Totally ripped off. Tried to complain but there appears no way to do it. Customer Service blocked me completely. Stay clear. My complaint would be...

I wish to make a formal complaint about the experience I had trying to use a Lyca Mobile SIM CARD when on holiday in my Motorhome .

Details

Number: XXXXXXXXX
Name: XXXXXXXX
UK citizen.

I purchased the card when entering Spain (San Sebastián) asking for a card that could be put in my mobile router. I gave passport details (XXXX) and was told the best card was a 100GB data card for 20Euro. I was promised that the card would work provide 100GB and be used all over Europe. The seller took a long time and then activated the card. At the last minute she suddenly charged 40Euro. I was surprised and stupidly paid….

So, I was scammed.

Anyway, the card worked fine in Spain and then for a while in Portugal. It then stopped. The app showed over 32GB remaining.

Not knowing what to do I added 5Euro top up through the App. The data stater again, for about 3 mins browsing the Internet and then stopped.

Thinking It might be a payment issue I topped up again through the App using a different card. Again the data worked for about 3 mins then stopped.

I raised this issue through What’s app, but was simply told that the data was used up (no reason given, nothing on the app top explain), and that the sim needed activating by the seller.

I have spent 50Euro and feel completely cheated by LycaMoibile (Spain)

Please treat this as a Formal Complaint. Investigate and put right. Please also send me a copy of your complaints policy.

Regards

Do not buy with them

Do not buy with them, I paid 40 euros and couldn’t use it for more than 2 hours, requested for a refund but I got no answer for the customer service team, it’s a complete scam.
A friend of mine purchased a new SIM card on their website but got nothing, not the card, not a refund, stay away from them

Sneaky charging, careless customer service

Up until recently, I was thinking about how good Lyca is and what a great deal they offer. I've been using them for three months and was very happy with the connection and the service. If it wasn't for what they did I would genuinely be giving them a 5* review.

Be warned, they are SNEAKY and will overcharge you at first convenience. When I linked my credit card to the account for automatic top-ups, Lyca charged me **170 EURO** for data usage within 48 hours.

Admittedly, it was my fault for not checking if the usual 10 Euro p/m bundle was renewed, so I got caught out, but to charge so much money sneakily is quite disgusting of them. Years ago, I faced a similar hick-up with O2, and they were happy to refund me, given it was a first-time error. Lyca's customer service could not care less. "Computer says no" - that's what you get.

Stay away

Stay away. They can not deliver the cards. They have inserted the wrong verification data, so after tracking my SIM card down, I couldn't even pick it up from the GLS courier, because the system wouldn't let them verify me. What a disaster this company is. And they to call they customer service, oh boy, worth to write a novel

spain Lyca Mobile is really really bad

As a tourist, I needed a temporary internet SIM card in Spain. Unfortunately, I did not read any reviews and bought a Lyca Mobile SIM. The connection to network stations was always very bad, the internet was very slow or not working at all.

They were deducting money from wallet for no reason. It happened few times.
I put 10 euros and recharge a plan of 5 euros . So 5 euros was left and then next month remaining 5 euros was gone.
Then it happened again next month also same thing.

Use your phone like in spain.

Use your phone like in spain.. what a false marketing stunt, they give you idiotically 10-20% of your GB for roaming and then you can buy a new subs every 3 days.. this should be illegal to phrase obvious lies like that.. frauds

Recently Recycled Numbers

Look, just dont ever use Lyca.

They give out recently recycled mobile numbers. After I got my number I had all sorts of people adding me and calling thinking I was someone else.

Then I went abroad for 3 months and didn't use my SIM. They deactivated the SIM and immediately reassigned it to someone else.

This is a horrific policy since it, gives another person access to every app your number was connected to. Whatsapp, banking, crypto apps. It should be illegal to recycle recently used numbers for this reason alone.

If you use this company, you will get a used SIM recently belonging to someone else, and they'll deactivate it if you stop using it for a short time. Just go with anyone else. The reviews are mostly negative for a reason.

Scam.

Instead of getting some 10 eur good-to-go internet as a tourist I paid 60 eur so far and was forced to get 3 month plan because that's cheapest they have. I spent some 8 hours troubleshooting how to order things in 50/50 English-Dutch language. Then the plan ran out leaving me lost in a different country and topping up gave me just few hours of internet leaving me stranded again. The bonus 30 euro they give your for topping up 30 euros can not be used internationally so they are useless. AVOID.
