DO NOT USE. You will have to argue to the death to get your payout (NYCC in my case). They will lie to you and claim you did not follow their process to avoid paying you and the buyer still gets to use your ticket. I would love to see their financial statements scrutinized to see what they are doing with everyone’s money.
After the Blue Ridge Rock Festival…
After the Blue Ridge Rock Festival (BRRF) screwed over its fans with poor execution and a festival that had the majority of its acts canceled... and after BRRF continued to lie and delay about issuing refunds, Lyte stepped up and did the right thing and issued a refund for the festival tickets that we purchased through them. BRRF still hasn't refunded anyone.

They "purchased" my tickets and have yet to pay me months later. Absolutely criminal. Do not trust these scumbags.
Great in theory, less so in practice
The premise of Lyte is great. Pairing people who need to sell their tickets with people who are looking to buy. Verified tickets. Fair prices all around. Ticket exchange utopia!
As a buyer, it's incredibly hard to get off the waitlist. You're better off scouring Stubhub for a decent price because at least you'll definitely get your tickets, whereas with Lyte you're just crossing your fingers and hoping something comes through, with no insight as to how likely that is to happen. The system could be improved if they said something like "There are X number of tickets available and Y number of people ahead of you," so you can make an informed decision about whether you want to take the chance.
The seller side of Lyte reveals why tickets are so hard to come by. They only allow the original purchaser to sell on Lyte Exchange. They claim it's because they can't verify 3rd party resale tickets, but that's silly because with Stubhub at least, tickets are typically transferred directly into your Ticketmaster account, where they're verified.
So though I have a verified ticket, I cannot contribute it to the Lyte Exchange. Now I have to hope someone wants to buy it elsewhere. And that's one less hopeful fan who will get tickets through Lyte.
This is an especially silly policy in the age of covid where people are still getting sick and become unable to attend events without much notice.
I appreciate venues that do what they can to prevent price gouging on tickets by people who buy tons of tickets just to turn a profit. But there is a huge difference between those people and single person trying to sell their sick friend's ticket. We shouldn't be punished simply because we weren't first in line to get tickets before they sold out on the first run.

I entered the waiting list for an event in April. Then 4 months later - without explicit consent or opt-in to exit the waiting list - they charged my credit card for the event. I didn't find out until months later when reviewing my credit card statement
Looking back at my email, they had sent two generic spam-like emails that didn't mention the event in the subject line nor made clear they had charged me $1500
Clear dark pattern in UX that they know they can get away with. Be very careful using this site if you don't want to get robbed!

Quickest response I ever goT.
Lyte’s customer service team was so helpful they gave me an answer legit in less than 2 minute . I had a question about my ticket. I booked it under my husbands surname however It doesn’t match my surname on my licence , as I didn’t want to get denied entry due to that . So I emailed lyte (I was panicking ) about 1 hour before the gates opened I got a response within 2 minutes . The fastest response I ever gotten via email. Majority of company’s can learn something with how lyte has set up their customer service especially if its last minute questions . Thank you so much Lyte and my agents name was Maria .
