Product size Misrepresented
I bought a purse from the company. When I received it, I thought it looked small, then measured it. It Measures 8" x 9"! Supposed to be 9.5 x 10.25 inches. I am very unhappy due to other reviews and all the bad experiences with returns. I will take this as a very expensive lesson and do no further business with this company. They misrepresented their product and I have no faith that any replacement product will work either. Never again!
lack of transparency, lousy customer service and overpriced shipping
Very expensive shipping, which is not easily discernible without investigating on their website. No mention of the extra $1.50 that suddenly appears when you check out ("carrier imposed surcharge"). I was sent an offer for 10% off if I signed up for emails, but the offer disappeared. I called customer service and asked how I could accept the offer. Instead of answering my question, the rep tried to upsell some kind of rewards program that requires a monthly fee and covers Walmart and other stores. (?). Upon explaining that I just wanted what had been offered to me, she said she'd enter my email address in the system and I'd be sent a 10% coupon. I gave her my email and never received the coupon. What's really a shame is that this used to be a good company and they sell some good products. Too bad.
Quick follow-up on 3/21/24: Still no word from magellens after both speaking to customer service and sending a message to their customer service.
Misleading/fraudulent rewards program they sneak on your credit card
I purchased online merchandise from Magellan's, charged it to my credit card account, then found an unauthorized "membership" monthly charge on my credit card bill. There was something obviously prechecked and I was never aware I had clicked something that triggered an automatic monthly charge going forward. I never even received any emails to let me know this was happening. This is unethical, and misleading. Be aware, and watch closely if you order from them. You could easily end up paying for something you didn't order for as long as you don't notice the almost $18 monthly charge that you never signed up for. I will never do business with them again. The website also states it's BBB accredited and when I check the BBB they do not show up. Shop here at your own risk!
Good Purchase Experience

I docked my review 1 star because we did not get any emails to confirm the order or shipping status. I had to check the website myself and call customer service. But bottom line, we are satisfied customers.
Magellan's is no longer a good site to order travel products from...
This used to be a wonderful website to order from, but it now seems more like a scam site. For the last two weeks, this site has said my order was in process, but when I called said there was a problem with the credit card, then said that was straightened out and the order was in process. Then I got a snail mail letter saying there was a problem with the credit card. However, I have never received a confirmation email or shipping email nor has the credit card been charged, so I am suspecting they are just stringing me along. The order cannot now be shipped to arrive in time for my trip, so I tried by phone and website to cancel. They now say it can't be cancelled because it's in the warehouse. But it's not yet charged. I insisted on cancelling the order anyway. We'll see what happens. I would be very wary of this operation at this point. I intend to ask my credit card company to deny any payments to this website.
Really poor service
Really poor service. Told me there were problems with the billing address (there were not), filled out the online form. Several days later I called to see why the order was not yet processed. Told me there were billing address issues (again - there was not). Original order was placed on Aug 26, still waiting for delivery of items. DO NOT ORDER from them
Two bad experiences -- there won't be a third.
Two bad experiences. I'm definitely done with Magellans. Ordered a "Hobo" bag for travel. Website gave dimensions of 14x9x4; what arrived was 11x9x4, so had to return it. To avoid delay, I ordered a much larger bag. I placed the order 16 days before our trip. With only a few days to go, I contacted Magellans. "We'll ship it tomorrow, but it wouldn't get to you before you leave." I suggested that since they had allowed the order sit for 11 days before processing, they ought to express ship it to help their customer. Outcome: they refused to refund the shipping on the mis-advertised item, and, no, they wouldn't upgrade the shipping. Just a shoddy experience. Definitely done with Magellans.
Used to be good
Used to be good. No more. Order cancelled the first time. Tried again. Put on hold asking for the 800 number on the back of my credit card and the "extension zip code". All without contacting me. Customer service makes no sense. Yet to receive a simple order and coming up on two months of trying.
Frustrating experience - for the second time
So this is the second time I ordered from this company of late for an upcoming trip and the items I ordered were in stock according to their site. It took the better part of two weeks to process and then I find out the main item I ordered was back ordered and will not likely get here before my trip. The other interesting thing is that they charge the full shipping up front even though what I a getting is a luggage tag in this shipment and what I am not getting are two larger gel seat cushions. I am told that is how Magellan's does things. If I go onto the site now it will show that the item I ordered as was told is backordered is still available. So apparently Magellan's business model is not to tell people that items are back ordered. This is a travel company - people buy these items for a trip. They can't wait for months. The phone rep was very nice but the online responses were on the order of "have patience since it is Covid" - well this isn't a matter of patience when you need an item for a trip. I even asked if they could do expedited shipping of the item but they don't do that. Not the same experience I used to have with this company.

What a terrible company. They have just kept my money (extraordinary amount of postage) and not sent the ordered items.
Company has resorted to scam tactics
This is company used to be very good. Now they are a scam. After trying to place an order online a notice popped saying they couldn’t process it and call customer service. Customer service placed the order for camisoles and tried to tell me the “ state mandated shipping” on a $50.00 order was $45.00. I immediately wanted to speak to a supervisor and cancel the order. They tried to sell me a VIP account. Really! Beware and do not order from this website.
Don't do business with them
Don't do business with them! I ordered $200 in merchandise 10-21-21. Got a confirming email, which said that a shipping notification would be sent. Shipping notification was never sent. Magellan's claimed the merchandise was delivered 12-14-21, almost two months after it was ordered. The merchandise was never delivered or received. I am in the process of removing the charge from my VISA bill. I will not order from them again.
Magellan's Travel Supplies is now a scam company
Magellan's used to be a fantastic, reliable travel supplies store. (I shopped with them for >30 years.) Now they are completely untrustworthy: they take your money -- including additional shipping costs for a "rush" shipment -- but then don't ship the items. Their customer service personnel (based outside of the USA) lie - they say that the item is being sent "that day" and also claim you cannot cancel the order. Then the website goes inactive. I am currently pursuing a claim through the Better Business Bureau.

Okay Oh I guess I rated this company already!
Anyway the reason for the 4 Stars, there was a recurring 14.95 charge for the last few months. (yes I need to check my credit card more often) Called the number on the charge and they reversed all the charges. Apparently it was for some VIP club that I don't recall signing up for. The reason it's not 5 stars is the toll free 888 numbers on the contact section of the website don't work!
Beware Their New Shipping Policy!!
They have started a new shipping policy which saves them, but not the consumer, money. they send it FedEx part of the way and then hand it over to the local post office. If it gets lost, which it frequently does, they are off the hook unless the consumer has the fortitude of a gladiator and is willing to take on the local post office! I contacted them about a lost order and they basically said that it was my problem and to take it up with the post office. I will never do business with them again! Beware, paying for the merchandise is no longer enough, now you have to sort out delivery problems too!!! It all falls on the consumer with these guys! BTW, attempts at communication with them have just been the run around. Nobody knows anything for sure.
