We experienced the most incredible adventure in Iceland thanks to the detailed and thoughtful itinerary Laura form Magnetic North Travel designed for us. From start to finish, we felt we were well taken care of and we were seeing and doing everything we possibly could to enjoy this unique country. Laura really listened to what we were striving for and also provided spot-on suggestions. From the Blue Lagoon, to glacier adventures in a super jeep and snow mobiles, to a food tour and geothermal rye bakery tour- we experienced so much. More importantly we were connected with the very best guides/drivers, and our accommodations fit our family perfectly. All 7 of us on this trip agreed it was one of the best trips we've ever taken and we hope to have the opportunity to go back. I 100% would reconnect with Laura again to plan future itineraries for us. In fact, we have family and friends, who after hearing about our experience, asked to be connected to Laura as well. We are so appreciative to have had this experience and now have fond memories to cherish. Thank you Laura!

I have a friend who swears he can use Chat GPT to plan the ideal vacation. He does a search, gets a planned itinerary, spends hours making reservations, and, inevitably, a “detail” gets missed or something goes wrong. Maybe it’s flight issues (he once booked a semi-private flight for his family, and the plane landed in an area of the airport with no access to the rental cars — oops!), maybe there’s loud construction next to the hotel he’s booked, etc.

With Magnetic North Travel (and Annie specifically), there’s none of that. I reached out to Annie to plan a trip to Sweden (including the IceHotel near Kiruna) and let her know our dates, our budget, and what my wife and I wanted to do. A couple Zoom calls later (including one with a specialist who was intimately familiar with the IceHotel), she had a perfect itinerary planned for us (including planning a tricky (for me) overnight train in a sleeper car from travel from Kiruna to Stockholm). All arrangements and reservations were made — I had to do practically nothing.

And I cannot emphasize “perfect” enough. We did SO many active adventures, but we had necessary “down time” to relax. In other words, we never felt rushed but felt we did ALL that we wanted to do.

But it’s not just the ease of working with Magnetic North Travel; it’s those “details.” For instance, Annie and her specialist made the recommendation to book a regular (i.e. warm) room at the IceHotel for the same night as our one-night stay in an ice room, just in case we found the ice room too cold. So when, in the middle of the night, my wife decided to bail on the ice room (note: she just couldn’t sleep; I found the room delightful), she had a room to retire to. Other IceHotel guests we spoke to were quite envious of our arrangement / foresight (and when I checked ChatGPT — it never made that recommendation).

Another example is that Annie recommended NOT to do snowshoeing in Stockholm in mid-March (due to the likelihood of slushy conditions); in contrast, ChatGPT did not caution against such a snowshoeing experience. She instead offered us a walking tour of Stockholm with a private guide. Note that Annie was spot on — the temperature in Stockholm was 50 degrees (Fahrenheit) with not a flake of snow to be seen!

Also — Annie was there to answer questions about tipping practices, where to get food for our train ride, etc.

And no looking for taxis! We got off the plane in Kiruna, grabbed on our luggage, and a driver with our name on a board whisked us away. Same thing going from the IceHotel to the Kiruna train station — our taxi was waiting right at the entrance of the IceHotel at the appointed time.

In Stockholm, Annie got us early check-in privileges (11 am) at a gorgeous boutique hotel right on the water and just a short walk from the old town.

Finally, the Magnetic North Travel app kept track of all our travel and activities, and pinged us with various reminders about flight departures and gates, etc.

So, sure, give A.I. a go if you want (and enjoy all the hassles of, time spent, and mistakes made planning), but for true hassle-free travel abroad, I highly recommend Annie and Magnetic North Travel.

We booked a 4 night stay at the Wilderness Nangu in early February. Recommend splurging for the panoramic log cabin - the hot tub was wonderful to warm up and relax after activities. Room was spacious. We enjoyed the food selections throughout our stay, guides were informative and we saw the Northern Lights on 3 out of the 4 nights. The lodge was cozy and inviting. Our booking agent, Yasmin, was communicative and responsive. Everything went smoothly. Really an incredible experience - especially loved the husky sledding.

My dad and I had an amazing experience going on a snowmobile trip from Inari to the Arctic Ocean. I used Magnetic North before, so I relied on them to organize it. Everything was not only perfect, but far beyond our expectations. We had a fantastic guide and cozy hotels. We learned about the local culture on this immersive trip. It was a once in a lifetime experience, and I am happy that I found a travel company that I can depend on.

We had a fantastic time traveling from Kiruna to Stockholm. The trip was well planned incorporating the experiences we enjoy. The people we met were very professional and informative. The places we stayed were unique and well positioned for our activities and adventures. The Magnetic North app was invaluable and easy to use. We had a flawless trip with great hotels and city experiences with tours. Our travel agent planned the perfect trip around our wants and needs. She was attentive, easy to communicate with and fulfilled what we wanted to do to make our travel experiences perfect.

MN were on top of all details and requests for our trip from first contact. Even after the trip they pursued a refund for us for changes in rail seating! The app is amazing and the best way to keep all information to hand. We'd happily recommend them to anyone.

Everything was seamless and they were available immediately when we needed to make changes for a weather delay. We booked with them for a magical trip through Scandinavia. I would highly recommend them.

This is my third adventure put together by Magnetic North Travel. It is the best of three very fine tours. My travels the Churchill were seamless, I saw northern lights and polar bears -- oh so many polar bears!

MNT also arranged for a 3-day stay in Winnipeg before I headed home. My stay at the Alt Hotel was exquisite. It's a new hotel smack in the middle of downtown Winnipeg and a block from the Canada Life event center. My room was clean and very comfortable. I'd like my own home to be as efficiently designed as that hotel room is.

I would definitely recommend MNT.

Yasmin Herbert of Magnetic North Travel helped to arrange an excellent itinerary for our trip to Norway. The hotels and lodges recommended were excellent and in great locations. We toured Oslo and Bergen and Aurland and Jotunheim National Park and the Fjords and the Lofoten Islands. The planned activities were fun and tailored to our interests. I felt that we got a great feel for the country from the cities to the fjords and mountains and the country side as well as the landscape at the arctic circle. The support provided while we were in the country by Yasmin through What's App was very helpful and ensured that all went to plan. I would recommend Magnetic North travel when planning a trip to Norway!

We just returned from a 3 week trip through Scandinavia. Our trip included stops in Stockholm, Oslo, Auerland, Bergen, a cruise along the Norwegian coast and Copenhagen. . We are fortunate enough to be able to do 2 or 3 international trips a year. This was one of our best trips, a wonderful experience. We worked closely with Annie at Magnetic North to plan this trip. From our very first contact with Annie we found her to be very knowledgeable with some wonderful ideas. And just as important. she was always super responsive. The hotels she selected were terrific, the walking tours were very interesting and our cruise on the Havila was unforgettable. We are fussy American travelers and Annie was still able to plan a perfect trip. I am already thinking about another trip to book with Annie and Magnetic North.

Laura with Magnetic North did a fantastic job in organizing our trip to Nova Scotia and PEI. She took time to understand what sort of experience we were looking for, then went on to make fantastic arrangements for that. The itinerary was great and the app was very easy to use. We had no issues with figuring out where to go or what to do.

The hotel arrangements were all quite nice, and the pre-arranged sightseeing experiences enhanced the trip. We would definitely do the trip again and would very much trust Laura and Magnetic North for potential future trips.

Well planned itinerary; good support throughout the trip when needed

We went on a cycling holiday to the islands of Finland in the west. This included not only their standard package but also some a la carté arrangements that we wanted to make. The cycling was great fun and we stayed in some very good and sometimes quirky accommodation. The food ranged from Good to excellent. One suggestion I would make is that if your budget allows I would book electric bikes as some of the routes are fairly long and peppered with lots of short but steep hills which can become tiring over time, and I’m quite fit (we had 1 electric bike between two of us but could have done with 2). The organisation was faultless and when we had a breakdown en route, it was dealt with immediately by magnetic north staff liaising with local people.

Where do I start? I would 100% recommend because of the kindness of staff interactions, real-time support during our trip and motivation of the staff to curate a trip that was just what our family wanted. We loved all the accommodations that were selected for us, particularly the more intimate and unique accommodations. 29|2 Aurland was the gem of our trip and the closest place to “heaven on earth” that I have ever been. By the end of our 2-week trip, we really felt like we had a solid understanding of Norway’s geography and history. Our son had requested experiences focused on Viking history and the rest of us wanted time outdoors hiking and on the water. Everyone came away feeling like they got exactly what they wanted out of our trip and so much more. Looking forward to the next time we can book a holiday with your team!

We decided to visit Norway and didn't allow much time for planning. Laura took the time to find out exactly what we wanted to include and created a wonderful itinerary for us, She answered all of our questions and included so much helpful information in the final itinerary such as the weather forecast, maps showing locations of pick up and drop off spots, hotel information, suggested restaurants and more, which made it a wonderful stress free vacation. Even though we had many modes of transportation, plane, bus, ferry, boat, and train, our travel from place to place was almost entirely problem free. We only had 1 experience, having to walk to our hotel along the side of a busy road, in which we didn't feel safe and decided to arrange for a taxi. Laura, even made sure we were reimbursed for our out of pocket cost. There was 24/7 help available if needed, which we found to be very beneficial. We had a few questions along the way and always received immediate responses. We really enjoyed our visit to Norway and would highly recommend Magnetic North for customizing your next itinerary
