Where to begin? Our trip was so amazing it’s hard to choose the highlight so I’ll begin at the beginning. We were originally booked to leave March of 2020 and we all know how that went. Laura at Magnetic North kept moving our trip each year til we were finally able to go this year. Every single detail was taken care of and executed flawlessly. We had private drivers multiple times traveling throughout Norway and Finland and they were always there right on time. Each of our accommodations only got better and better from wonderful city locations in Oslo and Helsinki to the remotest spots in Kierkenes and Inari, glass igloos in Levi and culminating in the poshest nests at the Arctic Treehouse in Rovaniemi. We were amazed and delighted each stop from being picked up at the Kierkenes airport by husky taxi and delivered to the Snowhotel after the most peaceful 45 minutes of hearing nothing but the excited yip of the dogs and the sounds of their paws hitting the snow to standing on a frozen lake in Inari watching a 360 degree display of the northern lights to a peaceful reindeer sleigh ride through the woods at night. That’s not to mention all you can eat king crab pulled from the icy fjord, the private snowmobile ride to a frozen lake side fairy tale cottage for hot berry juice and home made pastries. Magnetic North orchestrated a trip of a lifetime that was more than we ever expected, even after anxiously awaiting it for three years. If you want to experience the Arctic Circle like something straight from a movie, book with Magnetic North. I promise, you won’t be sorry.

A very well organised trip by Magnetic North. Exceptional viewing of the northern lights at Malangen. Very good trips from the hotel feeding the reindeer and dog sledding particular fun. The food was good especially breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a cabin which was well furnished, super clean and well maintained. Recommend highly. Many thanks 😊

This is the second holiday Annie has organised for us and both were excellent would highly recommend this company . Accomodation , flights , transfers and excursions were all arranged and all went to plan .

I just got back from a great trip to Iceland. This was the 2nd trip that Laura at Magnetic North set up for me. The first being my trip to Finland last year. All of the excursions that were set up for me were an amazing experience- The husky sledding, the glacier hike, lava cave, glacier ice cave, outdoor hot baths and all of the beautiful scenery of Iceland.

Laura worked well with my guide to help navigate the varying weather conditions to make sure my trip around Iceland wasn’t affected. I would highly recommend Laura and Magnetic North to set up your Northern experience.

Magnetic North Travel has proved to be a very caring competent company - keeping us well informed of arrangements. When arrangements had to be changed at short notice because of inclement weather conditions- clearly beyond their control- we were kept well notified and we were very promptly and generously compensated: a very refreshing response in this day and age!

We had a fantastic time on the Havila round trip up and down the Norwegian coast. The scenery and Northern Lights were amazing; the ship was excellent & eco friendly; and the staff brilliant.
Annie Fredvang at Magnetic North was an amazing travel arranger for us. She has unbeatable local knowledge of Norway and was a pleasure to deal with throughout.
Annie safely guided us through a change in dates and was always available and invested in the success of our trip.
We usually travel independently but on this occasion it really paid off to use an expert. We have already recommended Annie to friends and would do so again.

From our initial enquiry Annie was helpful and informative and put together a package to suit us. We had a wonderful few days away in the Wilderness Hotel Muotka, the excursions were fabulous and the accommodation and food was excellent. The app with all the information itinerary and links was really helpful. We were very lucky to see the northern lights on two evenings. I would highly recommend Magnetic North Travel and would certainly book with them again.

The trip was amazing Most important was the places she picked were first class. Hotel/accommodation great and food fantastic. Laura was also really responsive to questions before and during the trip. The WhatsApp link and the MNT app combined made for a really easy to manage trip. Thank you! 😊

I liked the personnal touch we did have some problems on our holiday and Annie was always available to help. Both the hotels we stayed in were also really lovely. However overall we were disappointed with the holiday. We had specifically gone with this company as they advertised ice skating and had made it very clear that our purpose in going was to be able to skate on outside ice. I feel we were not given correct information at all about the chances of being able to ice skate (we did no ice skating at all -but were told there was 90% chance or more of skating- when we arrived this was patently not the case) and if we had been give this information we would have probably selected a different place and operator in Scandinavia with whom we had previoulsy travelled and skated with

Magnetic North Travel organised the honeymoon of our dreams in the Arctic - from the accommodation to the outings and activities, everything was tailored to what we wished to do. While we didn’t get to see the Northern Lights (the weather was fairly overcast throughout), our contact Annie did everything she could to help us move outings around so we could still do everything and have something to do everyday. We appreciated having such a kind and helpful interlocutor, and that the trip was so well and thoroughly organised. The locations we visited (Tromsø and Svolvær) were stunning. We’ll particularly remember the sea eagle safari in Svolvær and our stay in a rorbu cabin. All in all, we strongly recommend Magnetic North Travel!

Laura and Annie provided an amazing service in arranging flights, hotel, cruise and excursions for my ‘bucket list’ trip to Norway! Communication was prompt and clear, and they were very patient in answering my never-ending list of questions. Huge thanks to Laura for organising a wonderful trip to Northern Norway for my friend and me! We loved our short stay in pretty Tromsø and would recommend the cable car excursion to the top of the mountain and visiting the peaceful and inspiring Arctic cathedral. The Arctic Panorama Lodge overlooking the spectacular Lyngen fjord where we spent the following three nights is beautiful, stylish, warm, comfortable, and homely. We were made extremely welcome by the lovely owners who looked after us so well with delicious homemade meals and transported us to our excursions. We loved husky sledging through snowy forests and were lucky enough to see orcas and humpback whales on our whale watching trip. The Northern lights made an appearance too, and although they were not particularly colourful, we were fortunate to have seen them. Everyone we met throughout our stay was friendly and helpful. I thoroughly recommend Magnetic North and Laura for her expertise and friendly support. Thank you! Helen

This was an incredible experience, from start to finish. Laura at Magnetic Travel was recommended by a friend, and it was a superb recommendation. In the planning stages, she tweaked things until we were absolutely happy with the trip, and no detail was too small. The app is fantastic, and the adventure itself... out of this world! Iceland is a wonderful country and will hold a special place in my heart. The food at the Hotel Ranga was exquisite, the hot tubs were the ultimate luxury and the Northern Lights wake-up call ensured that we saw the most miraculous night sky, on fire with the aurora. The super jeep tour with Midgard Adventures was an absolute highlight, and our stay in Reykjavik was wonderful. Every day was full of new delights, and we can't wait to start planning the next big adventure!

This was truly an incredible experience which ran faultlessly from start to finish . A quick explore in Tromso and then up to Uloya and the wonderful Arctic Panorama Lodge for two days of Whale watching and the most wonderful NorthernLights - the hosts Svein and Aud were warm and welcoming and again , every detail had been covered. The food was superb too and such a nice change to sample food true to the area ! Thank you, thank you , thank you !!

Laura at Magnetic North organised the holiday of a lifetime for my husband's 40th. The planning was absolutely seamless and stress-free, and on the trip itself everything ran like clockwork. I usually organise holidays myself but for this I wanted to off-load the stress of booking multiple excursions/transfers etc. elsewhere and I am SO glad I did!

We packed so much into 5 amazing days in northern Norway: saw the northern lights on 3 nights, saw humpback and orca whales, went husky sledding through a winter wonderland national park, and went to a spa on a renovated fishing boat in Tromso harbour which is maybe one of the coolest things I've ever done. We've only been back 2 days and I'm already eyeing up their other trips...
