Loosing trust in Gmail/Google

I am usually a sceptic about storing personal data with other companies as well as with using them in relation to my personal accounts. Somehow I have developed a level of trust with Google over the years so I started using gmail login. So recently I opened a new email account just to set up my company before I move to paid services. I used this account to create accounts to few services, like DigitalOcean, Namecheap, Mailchimp etc.. I even implemented Google login on my company website and wanted to implement google pay. Few weeks into usage Google blocks my account and asks for verification. I couldn't access any of my accounts during this period. Google customer support is close to none. After a day or two of freaking out, I resorted to using my friends mobile phone to verify my account which seems absolutely absurd to me. Needless to say, after this incident I created a Proton email account and started migrating everything. Less than a month later, Gmail does it again. I almost didn't even use my email account and it was marked as suspicious. I tried the same routine, but this time my friends phone didn't work. I tried both my phone numbers again but I never received a verification code. I have tried with 6 mobile numbers and same thing happened. In the end they were all marked as not accepted because they were used. I read their documentation through and through. It even stated that in an event there is an issue like mine you should initiate an audit. Of course I did not have this option. Even though I added my other email as a verification email, I couldn't use it as a verification method.
I finally managed to access my account on DigitalOcean thanks to their sensible support. As far as Gmail/Google goes, my trust in the company is depleted. When Chrome asks me to save a password I imagine what would have happened if I ever stored my passwords with my Gmail account and I get the chills. I was once proud to use google services, now I am embarrassed. I would assume the company had grown too large and bad employees had taken over producing illogical and idiotic products. I hope to see Google regain their former glory as I once saw it. I miss old days of Google..

LANZAROTE HOLIDAY

Just booked a holiday at TUI Cramlington. It was so easy, Yasmin was extremely helpful and friendly. She covered everything and made the whole thing perfect. Love this shop a d the assistants. Well done.

Gmail has NO call center for your…

Gmail has NO call center for your email. Which I think is ridiculous!! I can't access my account because I no longer have the same phone number and it won't give me options to change the password otherwise! Also, Gmail and Google are just a pain in the ass anyway! Wish their was other options or competition to use to get into phone.. it social media accounts and etc.

Gmail is a piece of 💩

Gmail is an absolute joke. The biggest company in the world and I can't send emails. Any email with a picture or attachment will not send and sits in the outbox for days and weeks. No matter what I do and it's been happening for the past few years with no resolution. I've tried everything, I delete every single email from every single folder, I clear the cache, I restart the app, I delete the app and redownload it, I restart my phone, I resize the attachment. Nothing. And they make it so there is no possible way whatsoever to contact them and speak to an actual person. I need to email important things to my son's school and doctor and because of this issue the scbool has not received his physical and he is at risk of getting kicked out of school. I know I am not the only one who uses their email for important things like this, people run their businesses through email so i have no idea how they are allowed to get away with this. I have absolutely had it.

Receive so much spam

Receive so much spam, have to delete fair few each day. Obvious they sell our details on. They also claim they are missing me, I am looking at my emails but receive on my iPhone so do not need to open up on my laptop. I don’t use gmail as my main email address thankfully, barely any company I am registered with knows this one.

So much spam

I have a Gmail account and get lots of spam - at least 10 spam emails every single day.

They do land in my junk folder but they are still a nuisance, as I have to look through them to make sure that no important emails are among them.

Why can't Google filter out the obvious spam so that the users aren't bothered by them?

I also get one spam email every day that my anti virus software flags up as containing malware. This is definitely something that Google should be filtering out

I’m leaving Gmail

I’m leaving Gmail. I don’t even use it as my main email account and it gives me headaches. The 2 step verification is horrendous. I try to login to a new device (not really it’s my phone but a new browser) and I have my correct password and username but it still tells me they need to verify who I am. Okay, fine. Send me the code, except it’s not showing up. K resend the code, again no code. Well I’ll try a different method but it tells me I can’t have it sent to my phone because I have a more secure method… oh? The method that’s not working? Go to help and it says “log into the app and verify that it’s you”…. Oh the app, yes the app of the website I’m currently trying to log into yes that should obviously work and the app that I don’t even have. So after all that finally one of the email codes had come through and I used that only to be told I can have access in a day as they need to verify that it’s me. To remind, I had my correct user and password when I started and I have now been locked out of my account. I’m done with google. I don’t even know what I’m switching to but I’m switching today.

I keep getting spam

I keep getting spam, even i've blocked the sender. I've contacted support, whom stated they don't have resources to help and analyze why these things happens.

They think i need to unsubscribe by their links in emails, but whom have thought their support has such lack of knowledge, and want you to click on malware links / phising to "unsubscribe"?

. "Your UPS order has been halted" or "Your free xxx.." etc, etc..

Unprofessional.

lawsuit for charging for space

If anyone starts a lawsuit for them charging for more space after opening a new account.. tag me! I’ve had a gmail since 2014 that just started sending full messages earlier this year(2024). I started using new account for almost a year and that’s all of a sudden full too that I need to purchase more space. Fool me once.. one by one I’ll be changing my important emails to a new service.

Your Idiot system has a Mobile Number Verification Issue. WHY YOU CAN'T FIX IT? or Have Some Support Team to Help People Out? I'm a small business owner but this stupid gmail ruined everything that I've Created. Keep asking to provide a mobile number to send a verification code. I've already added 1000 of them But keep sending error messages. This problem is not even understood by any Google Employees. Shame on You Who Work on Goole. Everyone should die like a Street Mouse for Making this System Ruined Peoples's Lives.

NOT a fan of gmail. Have users design its future improvements, not computer nerds!

I've been using gmail for years now and frankly, it stinks. It's often difficult to tell where a new email in a chain is located, tough when forwarding an email chain to delete emails in that chain - I might want to send the original email to a new person WITHOUT the other comments included. Gmail system seems to have its own mind about what to include in an email forward. Never though I'd say this, but I miss the (much more logical) way Outlook helps you work with & construct emails.

Mainland Sunrun customer service great!…

My Sunrun solar system is not producing the normal electricity because of what is a faulty inverter. Tried contacting the local Sunrun people that I always talk to here on Oahu and no one responds. Called the mainland Sunrun and employees like James and Laura responded really fast and went out of their way to try and solve my issues. We tried to remotely restart the system but was unsuccessful. James and Laura are professional, courteous, friendly, and knowledable. They should be promoted for excellent customer service and the local ones should be retrained of terminated. Very good customer experience with the Mainland Sunrun.
