I ordered a quadruple and personalised box for mothers day and was very impressed and the cakes were fantastic and lasted a while and was still moist. Would highly recommend this place, I will be ordering again!!

Boundless Incompetence! Just get a cake delivered by a supermarket

Ordered for a delivery on Saturday, I thought to give myself a contingency for mother's day.

Turns out they delivered it to the completely wrong address. I explained this to them several times and even showed them a screenshot of my digital receipt clearly showing my correct address.

How they managed to send it to a completely different postcode 100 miles away is a mystery to me.

So yesterday (Monday) I gave them an ultimatum, a full refund & redelivery or I give them a scathing review. Since that message almost 24 hours ago, I have had absolutely zero contact.

No sign of a refund for an item I paid for that they messed up and no sign of the product.

So consider this that scathing review.

Was promised they would resend the card. Pretty redundant when mother's day has been and gone and offered 20% off my next order.

On what planet would I make a next order? It's not 5 days since I was promised the card would be resent and I've had nothing. No confirmation, no tracking details, nada.

Absolute joke of a company that can't even enter an address properly even when you give it to them 3 times!

So it turns out they posted the replacement to the wrong address as well! And didn't send me the confirmation. The incompetence apparently knows no bounds. I'm promised they will manually process the order now (which is exactly what they said last time). All of this is rather redundant when Mother's Day was over a week ago now. So all told, 9 days after it should have been delivered, I have no cake, no card and no refund. But I can get 20% off the next order they ship to Cambridge instead of Nottingham.

Great customer service

Great customer service, I put in my order and it changed the delivery address I emailed mailbakes and they replied so quickly confirming the correct address, they was so helpful and reassuring.
The cake is beautiful and a great little gift. Can’t recommend anymore if I tried!

Cake

The cake was sent to my wife as a mother's day gift when she opened the package not only was there cake but also a 10mm spanner brand new and shiny we would love to know what the tool is in with the cake for my wife is worried about eating said cake as we don't know if it's OK please let us know thank you

I wanted a unique gift for my mum for…

I wanted a unique gift for my mum for mother's day and thought what's better than cake coming through the letter box!! I ordered 2 slices, lemon and the Victoria sponge as these are her favourite flavours. The website is easy to use to complete the order and liked that I could personalise the card. Mum absolutely loved receiving her gift. Will be ordering again for the next family celebrations

Outstanding customer service if things go wrong

My daughter who lives in Canada ordered 2 cakes and a card for me. Both of the cakes were supposed to chocolate - one called The Bruce as I’m a big Bruce Springsteen fan. She even referenced the Bruce cake in the words of the card to me. Instead I received one called ‘plain Jane’ and one called ‘Vanilla and choc’. So nowhere close to her order.
Disappointing for me and for her.
However after posting an initially poor review I was contacted the following day (a Sunday) and I was assured that everything would be done to fix the issue.
True to their word Mailbakes sent the order again with the correct cakes which arrived two days later.
I think that the way in which a company responds when things go wrong says a lot about them and their customer service. Mailbakes have been outstanding and now deserving of a 5 star review.

My friend ordered my cake for my…

My friend ordered my cake for my birthday, I was delighted to receive it, and excited to taste it. However it was the most disgusting cake I have had. It tasted fishy with a side of chemical. I had to spit it out. I got a family member to try, they said they tasted the fishy taste, and said it was awful. I have to tell my friend as I would hate her to waste a penny more on these cakes. Vile with a capital V

I would not use them again

I thought I'd use this service for mother's day. I should have taken note of the reviews. The parcel was delivered but they put in someone else's order. My mum received different cake to what id ordered and a card for someone elses mum.
It wasn't from me.
Because I live some distance from my mum, I've had to use Moonpig last minute.

Amazing

This was my first time ordering from mailbakes and I’d happily order again. I ordered two slices for a friend as a thank you and they arrived quickly and well presented. Not a great experience.

I haven't received the delivery. Very disappointed to be honest. Its been hard to contact you for follow up. Thankfully today someone has replied to a web chat. You don't get replies from the "help" email. I have been told a replacement will be sent as it looks like its been lost in transit. This is over a week since I placed the order. No refund offered as yet. Must to better !
