Worst online experience at Makro - product still not delivered
We ordered a gazebo with Marko online on 15 October 2025, after 3 weeks of follow ups we still have not received our product. With Makro telling us its with the third-party and courier and there is nothing they can do. Makro even went as far to give us the courier drivers number to call ourselves every day to follow up. Even with that we don't know where our parcel is, the courier does not respond anymore and says they do not have our parcel and Makro is not taking any responsibility to follow up and resolve this. We cannot get our refund, and we don't have our parcel. I would advise anyone to avoid buying online at Makro. You will never get your order
Abysmal After-Sales Service and Zero Communication from Makro Cornubia - Avoid at All Costs!
My experience with Makro Cornubia has been an absolute nightmare, defined by a complete lack of professionalism, communication, and basic customer respect.
I purchased a freezer which, upon delivery, had visible scratches and was immediately returned with the delivery team. This is where the service evaporated. No one from the store bothered to call me to confirm the return or advise when a replacement would be delivered.
After days of silence, I took the initiative to call the Makro Cornubia branch multiple times and sent several emails, all of which were ignored. When I finally reached a representative named Terrence, he asked for the query details and the name of the salesperson, which I provided as Litisha Reddy (Employee ID 4281). Terrence put me on hold to connect me with her, but Ms. Reddy outright refused to take the call. I was left waiting on hold for almost 20 minutes before the call was abruptly cut. There was no follow-up from anyone.
It has been days since the initial purchase and return, and I am still without a working freezer and without any form of reliable communication from the store management or sales staff. The indifference shown by the Makro Cornubia team, particularly Litisha Reddy, is shocking.
If you value your time and expect a basic level of customer service, I strongly advise you to shop elsewhere. This experience has highlighted the dire state of their after-sales support and the contempt they have for their customers once a sale is made. I will be escalating this matter with the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud.

The wrong order arrived, I sent it back because it was a spinning bike and I have a disability and disability and I could not settle for that and it was half the price.
I received my refund and now I need to order it again because I took the money from my road accident fund. I need proof that I've received it because they take the invoice as proof to court.

I returned two items and was only refunded for 1. I have written several emails, but they will only tell me that we will escalate it. I am not sure to whom. It is really unfortunate that Makro will allow this kind of act in their company.

Makro has to be one of the worst online shopping experiences out there. Online products are often fake and in my personal experience, never delivered. A tent I ordered was cancelled by Makro after 3 days, and yet the product is still listed online. Don't buy from Makro, there are other options.

My cousin gifted me a Stanley cup from Makro and it’s a fake! The cup doesn’t keep the temperature at all, if I put a cold drink inside it becomes warm after a few minutes and it can’t even keep a hot coffee hot for more than 20 minutes. My friends bought their Stanley at @Home and theirs can keep the temperature for HOURS. I’m HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED IN MAKRO.

On-line Order of various items arrived of which 2 were lamps - of the 2 lamps 1 of the lamp bases arrived damaged. It has been unbelievable in how absolutely pathetically badly the sorting out of this required replacement/return has remained unattended to with no resolution to the problem. I find it impossible to fathom out how such a simple process could arrive at such a point - am about to give up with this company.

Makro online incompetence.
I did a lot of research for a wifi 6 mesh kit and eventually saw the one I want on makro online. I paid on the 2nd of the month. On the 5th I get a notification from them saying, "congratulations, I qualify for a full refund because my order was cancelled due to the item going out of stock and that I'd receive my refund on the 25th.
When I went into the page where the item was listed, it's still advertised without saying out of stock. So the next person will be caught this way too.
I regret ever using makro online. It is pathetic.

Unreliable 3rd party vendors
Ordered Instax Fuji film, waited two weeks, got a message saying it was ready for courier collection. Two days after that I got a message telling me the item is out of stock and I will receive a refund.
Item is still showing as available online, so why are you having unreliable 3rd party vendors?!
Disappointment ALWAYS a guarantee !!
Once again the only guarantee was disappointment. Why do you bother to allow third party sellers to give you a bad name ?
They are almost always ready with an excuse, wasting valuable time and creating lots of extra paperwork caused by items not being delivered, partial orders processed and refunds that takes weeks to process.
You basically have to pay salaries to staff handling queries that could have been avoided should you ship directly from a warehouse rather than third parties own locations.
Sell whats available and only that.

Requested a replacement. They lie and claim it’s sold out. However it’s still for sale on the website, only the discount is less. So Makro now want me to pay more for an item I already bought, because they delivered second hand goods to me.
Order inexplicably cancelled after payment. No refund. Queries being ignored.
I placed an online order on Makro Business on 4 August; after making payment they ignored all my follow-up emails and the website says order cancelled.
Almost two months later, still no feedback, no deliveries and no refunds.
I'll never use them again. It feels like I've been scammed.
Overcharge and lie to you about it
Did an online order, when your order is or over R500. You get free shipping. Shipping was charged even though I qualified for free shipping. I placed the order after office hours and wasn't going to order the next day and have the order delayed by another day. I placed it thinking - I will call them and they will fix the error. I called the next day and it was confirmed there was an error and they said they will escalate... Nothing happend. So I send an email to all the relevant teams with the invoice... And they claim it is VAT... You can clearly see the breakdown of each item before and after tax, and the shipping charge is even clearly mentioned that it is shipping, and even shows the VAT on it. So I have stopped purchasing from them. The lies and trying to make me out to be a fool. I was not going to waste more time on it. Just stopped purchasing.

We ordered a couch that was supposed to be delivered last week, but it took over a month (plus extra days) before it finally arrived. To make matters worse, the customer service agent told my partner to “let her know if it arrives.” No! It should be their responsibility to keep the client updated.
When the couch finally arrived, the packaging was torn open and the couch itself had dirty marks on it. Makro didn’t apologize, and all they did was explain how to log a refund. An apology alone isn’t enough. Now we are expected to wait again – for collection and then for a refund whenever they decide to process it.
This has been the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. Makro needs to offer proper compensation, a discount, or a meaningful solution – not just instructions to file a refund.
