Malbern windows recently replaced my Facias, Soffits, Windows, Doors.
Job well done

Malbern fitted our Windows 12 years ago, they have been faultless since which shows it pays to buy quality.

Excellent job from being to end. We had an insulated roof put on our conservatory which Malbern installed 20yrs ago. The workmanship then was excellent and the standard is still maintained today. The installers and the plasterer were really nice, polite and considerate and really worked hard creating an excellent job. We would recommend this company to anyone wanting a first class job.

Just had windows fitted throughout and the experience was really good. The lads who came to fit them were polite and answered any questions I had and the job they did was superb. I had modifications done to the property which meant that the house had some building work done. This was done so fast and with minimal disruption that I was very surprised and at the same time delighted. The quality of the product is good and the way the company has gone about quoting and carrying out the work was brilliant. Great set of lads too. an absolute pleasure to do business with. Cannot recommend more highly

I had to report my new door for remedial work & the response I received was positive.

Claire in the remedial department was great, & a pleasure to deal with.

The only problem I had with Malbern in general was the chain of communication and it’s timing. This area is in need of some work to improve.
Despite this, the Malbern employees are polite & knowledgeable, which makes all the difference for me.

James, the Engineer that came out to me, was great too! He was prepared to go that extra mile to ensure that all possible issues were covered before he left. He also explained EVERYTHING he was doing & why in a way that I could understand.

Both Claire & James invited me to contact them again should I experience any further issues.

So, all in all I do rate Malbern, which is why I had them do new doors & windows for my dad’s house too.

I didn’t want to reduce the star rating solely for the communication issue, 5* is fair for the overall services received.
However, If I could rate individual services within the company then ‘communication’ would receive ‘requires improvement’ & ‘customer services’ would receive an easy ‘outstanding’.

On a side note, when I originally had my door installed, I had an issue with the Builder that came to put a lintel in above my door.

HOLD ON GUYS!! Before deciding not to use Malbern, please bear in mind that the Builders they use are ‘outside contractors’ & do not represent the works carried out by actual Malbern employees in its entirety.

However, I would recommend, & hope, that Malbern make better selections of Builders to contract work out to in the future.

When I had Malbern do my dad’s it was a deal breaker that the builder I had problems with was NOT to attend my dad’s house under any circumstances.
This was honoured by Malbern after I explained the position.

I would rate my original Builder as ‘failure’, but the builder that came to put his work right would be rated ‘outstanding’. Hence why I requested him personally to install my dad’s lintel.

I sincerely hope this helps people decide when choosing a company to use.

The fact is, you get problems with all types of businesses, for all different reasons. It basically comes down to how they treat you IF a problem arises, and how they resolve those issues that counts. Malbern do this exceptionally well!
Despite the issues I experienced, I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Malbern to anybody, and would have them back myself should I decide on any future works.

Malbern recently built us a large conservatory and a garden room. This was a massive job involving levelling a terraced garden and putting in retaining walls in addition to the conservatory and garden room construction. They did a fantastic job, all the work was done to a high standard and any snags were quickly dealt with.

The composite door fitted is bowed like a banana and scratched. The fitting team broke the alarm sensor around the door when fitting and requesting a simple window key for the replacement window installed, is clearly not possible because the correct key has still not been received. Despite chasing several times, we are still unclear as to what is happening to rectify the issues as nobody in installations returns our calls. We are now are the stage of disputing the monies paid with the bank as the original installation was nearly three months ago …. Save yourselves the hassle and avoid this company, use somebody reputable who cares about the customer.

My experience with this company has, without doubt, left me feeling that they are possibly the worst company I have ever dealt with.
I run a business that has hundreds of customers that require a high degree of customer service, honesty, quality and integrity. I can say without doubt, Malbern possess none of these.

I will keep my experience brief:
They replaced a downstairs window with a bay window.
Replaced the front door and 2 bedroom windows.

Everything they did, had to replaced due to bad workmanship.
The bay window was fitted incorrectly and out of square. We didn't realise until we wanted blinds fitting and nothing was level.
They had also trimmed excessive plastic off all the frames (which were grey), exposing a ragged white edge on the bottom of all the frames.
When they came on the third visit, the owner agreed to replace all the windows.

Now onto the door.
The fitters broke the lower sill when installing this. We noticed later and they came and replaced it.
After a couple of months we were having difficulty closing the door. A fitter came and adjusted it. This happened again and a different fitter removed the lower of the 3 latches and said it needed a new one. Yet another fitter came to install a new one and we were told the complete door and frame had been fitted incorrectly and needed removing and re fitting.

This was eventually done and by this time we were having problems with the lock. Sometimes when using the key to get in, it just turned continually without unlocking. A fitter called and said it was because we were using keys we had, had cut.
It turns out this wasn't the case and a new lock was needed and the door still wouldn't close properly.

This is the final straw. I have been left with a door I can't open with a key and won't close properly. 2 Appointments have been missed to rectify this with no phone calls to explain why. Atrocious customer service from start to finish.

Now we have had a new lock fitted by someone else and the door adjusted.

Malbern do not keep appointments, their workmanship is of a poor standard, and if you have any issues you will regret ever using them.

We are over the moon with our new doors, windows and conservatory they look awesome and the house is so much warmer with less road noise too. The quality of the products are great and so has been the service. Joe was extremely helpful and friendly at the start of it all, helped us pick the right options, didn't force the most expensive option to us just because (like other firms have), he suggested where we could save and where it was worth spending the extra and he was right! The lads that did the work where lovely too, and worked really hard, I'm not sure any of them stopped all day and very tidy too. Hardly anything for me to clean up afterwards. Great work all round! Thank you all!

Commissioned a full installation of all windows, doors and a conservatory up on moving house. This is the second time we have used Malbern Windows during the last 10 years. We were again very impressed first by the Quotation, the installation and conservatory teams. There were a couple of snags on completion but these were rectified completely within weeks, followed by a personal visit from Daren (MD)
Would definitely use again !

What a brilliant product provided by an impressive and extremely competent team. We had a home visit by Phil Holt Sales Manager who discussed with us our requirements. Phil was knowledgeable and took time with us to ensure our order was best suited to our needs. We then had a visit from the surveyor John who like Phil was very professional and confirmed our requirements and measured the six windows and new Porch and Front door. On Monday 20 November Brian and Josh the Fitters attended to fit the six windows and Porch. They were superb and their friendly and approachable attitude was most welcome. Their work was first rate and they took pride in everything they did. They clearly wanted us to be happy with the job. A superb product which was complimented by an excellent Malbern team and we are delighted as it has transformed the front of our property. Thanks to all including Installations Manager and girls in the office. Highly recommended.

Excellent windows and doors service. The fitters turned up on time and made me feel sure and confident in the work they were carrying out. The work was of extremely high quality as were the windows and my new door.
They kept my home protected and used dust sheets and the the work looks pristine around the edges of the windows externally and internally.
The level of service was very high and I would certainly recommend Malbern Windows to anyone else looking for new quality windows and doors.

We had Rowan and Niall fit our new windows today, from the offset they were both extremely polite, well presented and friendly. They approached the job with utmost professionalism with total respect for my property. They didn't stop all day and after finishing the job to a fantastic standard, they left my house spotless. So happy with the work these lads carried out. They are an absolute credit to Malbern windows, maybe the bosses could reward their hard work with some free drill bits and reciprocating blades.

Very competitive price Joe quoted us for 16 windows and 3 doors, he helped us to choose exactly what would suit the style of our property, the work started 8 weeks later by Rowan and Niall, great lads they did a brilliant job especially the difficult job of knocking out a wall to install the french doors, they left everything tidy afterwards too, and last of all, James who has just been to change the thumb turn lock, thank you everyone.

we are in the process of having a conservatory built, not finished as of yet, just a few finishing touches but i had to write a review on our builder Mark. He is the most hardworking man i have ever come across. he built our whole conservatory on his own. Showed up everyday early regardless of the weather and was there late at night. Now he has finished his job my husband and i are actually missing him. What a guy and credit to your company. Thankyou Mark for being the best at what you do and putting your heart and soul into building this for our family. Stephen, Michelle and family!

Comedy of errors in communication/contact very pushy salesman and very expensive!

This is the second time I’ve used Malbern for windows and doors I had them at my old house windows still look like brand new when I drive past that was over 10 year ago.

That’s why I decided to have them fit windows and doors at my property now as usual everything went smoothly windows and doors are top quality and been fitted well I’m really happy and would recommend Malbern for anyone thinking of getting windows and doors Barry.

Had a supalite roof fitted to our conservatory and could not fault them. A very professional service received from start to finish. Fitters Graham and Phil, Darren the plasterer and Tony the electrician were an outstanding team of guys whose workmanship was of a very high standard and they left no mess for us to clean up!! Extremely happy with the job and would have no hesitation recommending the company.
