Fell in love with Malte playing. Following Malte for years, I fund that his approach and mentality correspond to mine. So when he announce that he was making a course, I was very excited and started to save money to buy a handpan. My dream instruments for years, and after that joined the community and his course.
I enjoy the community because it is a carrying community. It helps, critics are done with the hearts ( never with harms intend ) and share a lot. Every sharing is precious. For me it helped a lot, I thing without it, I wouldn't share so much. I am a freaking perfectionist, and mostly I have a big impostor syndrome. So it's help me to overcome all of this, one step after another.

A long time ago, about five years ago, I saw people playing handpans on YouTube. I was captivated by the sound and skill of the musicians. I thought I could never do that. Moreover, when I found out how much the instrument cost, I thought I'd hardly ever be able to afford it. It wasn't cheap, to say the least. A few years passed, and I decided to buy a handpan at a cheap online store. I made a big mistake by buying a fake. I started looking for a real handpan and stumbled upon the Yatao Shop website. When I saw Malte Martin in the website design, I recognized him immediately. This guy plays masterfully on YouTube, and you can often tell he's using a Yatao handpan. I thought I could trust him, so I placed an order with the money I'd borrowed. When I received my D Kurd 13, I was thrilled. It sounded significantly different from my first handpan. But my joy knew no bounds when I received two Malte Martin CDs and a 50% discount on introductory lessons with Malte Martin himself. I signed up immediately. I was thrilled with the training system. From the very beginning, Malte explains each skill step by step with warmth and sensitivity, demonstrating how to do it. I don't speak English and use a translator, but the teacher's videos are structured in such a way that everything is very clear visually. I was delighted that I had lifetime access to the training material. The student profile includes a forum for students who share their achievements and experiences. There are teachers there who are always supportive and helpful. I want to say that the Malte Martin team prepared the training project very well! I'm still a beginner on the beginner course. But the Malte Martin Method school also offers an advanced course and even a course for teachers. The team organizes retreats for students, master classes, and holds instrument giveaways and other events. I'm very happy to have joined this wonderful Malte Martin team. Thank you, MMM.

I first learned of the Handpan when I came across the duo from Hang Massive on YouTube and fell in love with the wonderful music it produced.

A year or two later, on a whim, I purchased an inexpensive Handpan and decided to see what it would take to learn to play when I came across the Malten Marten Method on YouTube. I looked it up online and found he offered a free mini-class, so I grabbed it to see how his method worked.

I was pleasantly surprised by the mini-course I then went ahead and purchased —the Beginner Journey course. The course is 12 weeks long, with videos each week that walk you through the fundamentals of the Handpan. Some of the things you learn in the course are:
- The various notes produced by the Handpan
- How to strike the Handpan with each of your hands
- Chords, melodies, and harmonies
- Various patterns to learn during your journey
- Tips for how to practice
- You are even encouraged to jam along with him

The high-quality videos are excellent, making it very easy to follow along on your learning journey. I am only partway through the course, have been enjoying my learning experience, and can see my experience with the Handpan improving each day. I look forward to each day I spend learning the Handpan with the Malte Marten Method.

With the Malte Marten Method everything is easy. Lernead how to play is very fast. Malte is an extraordinay teacher and enpower you with his calmy way of trasmitting passion.

The Handpan Fundamentals course by Malte is a very comprehensive and well-designed learning experience. What I value most is being able to learn the techniques and approaches Malte has developed over more than a decade. He explains everything clearly, making the learning process both easy and engaging.

There’s a lot of content, so even after completing lessons, you can always go back and discover new insights or inspiration. If you only have one handpan, or handpans in scales different from those in the course, you won’t be able to play some patterns exactly as shown (though you can use the included program to adapt them to your instrument).

The online community is another great part of the experience: supportive, encouraging, with fun monthly challenges and live community calls where Malte shares more insights and offers his support directly. Finally, the team behind the course is kind, open to feedback, and genuinely committed to improving the experience for everyone.

I absolutely love Malte's handpan course! The lessons are clear, inspiring and full of passion. I have gained confidence, skills and so much joy in playing! Truly a wonderful journey for anyone wanting to connect with magic music of handpan.

I've learned from Maltes online course so much. And I try to play each day the Handpan.
And I have something like a contract with a cafe. Im trying to play there each Saturday afternoon and I like very much to play in public areas. I'm doing this very often.
It's alway amazing in which way this kind of music is going to the people, especially to children and people with handicaps.
I can't think anymore without a life with the Handpan
I need to play even for me.

The Malte Marten Method is such a good way to learn the handpan. The way Malte plays and the way he teaches has given me so much joy and its playing from the heart. Malte is a great teacher. I've learned beautiful patterns and melodies. I absolutely love this instrument for expressing my feelings. Before I go to bed I play and it's such a good way to relax. A year ago I happen to see a video of Malte on YouTube.The first time I saw or heard of a handpan.This instrument resonated with me and I immediately decide to buy one.I purchased MMM course and today I improvise daily for 1hr and it brings me so much inner peace when I dabble before bedtime.My sleep quality has improved and it is my go to I strument for stress relief.
Thanks to Malte Marten and his journey,this instrument changed my life.I am 75 years old.

I took Malte Marten’s “The Beginner Journey” course and overall I find it very well done. The structure is clear, and the lessons build nicely on each other. Malte explains techniques step by step in an understandable way, without overwhelming, while also encouraging creativity and feeling. His teaching style is motivating and enjoyable.

On the downside, the course isn’t exactly cheap, and for players with prior experience some parts feel a bit too basic. Progress also requires more practice than I first expected.
Since my handpan has an Amara scale with only 8+1 notes instead of 9+1, some exercises don’t translate perfectly to my instrument. I had to adapt a few patterns, which sometimes made the learning process less straightforward.

Overall, though, it provides a solid foundation and is especially valuable for beginners.

I learned so much, I don't know where to begin. Most of all I learned a lot about improvising. New technics, new patterns and for me also very important, make mistakes and just play further. Just play and try out, what sounds good for you. Be only with you and forget everything around you. Having fun.

Malte Marten is a very good teacher.

Malte makes learning fun! And as I have not got any musical background, I found this method fabulous to help me to learn the beautiful hand pan. This course has taken me from zero knowledge to actually being able to play thank you thank you thank you.

In August I decided that I wanted to learn handpan more actively. Before that I tried following different videos, but I thought that it would help a lot if I followed a system. So I enrolled the Fundamental Course of Malte Marten Method. And I haven't regretted it.
I really enjoy the way I manage to master the patterns one after another. It's very inspiring when I see other people's videos and how enthusiastic they are. I try to learn something every day: either a new lesson, or practice, or both. Sometimes I manage to improvise something, which is a step towards where I want to go.
