It was the first time I’d been to an M and S opticians (Brookfield Centre, Cheshunt) and I was very impressed. Great customer service throughout the initial process, thorough eye examination and good choice of frames at all price points. I’ve not yet received my glasses but am hoping that these will match expectations and my experience this far.

Very Professional, all Staff are Friendly , never a Rush in picking out New Frames, plenty of Help , if not to sure . Eye Test was also so Professional, and not hurried ,as I have been in the Past at anther very well known Opticians, thats why I came back to M&S , as did my Husband , nothing worse then feeling Hurried through with Eye Test , and picking out Frames . New Glasses were picked up within 5 days , Excellent Service .

Waited 3 weeks plus for glasses. When arrived glasses far to big . Ment to have be measured up for. Told the glasses we're none agustable. Told to choose another pair.refused not willing to wait another 3 weeks. GOT A FULL REFUND. The staff need training on how to measure up for glasses.

For the last deliveries having a problem with Lensplan or should I say Owl Optical. I have run out of contact lenses! Apparently after ringing today 17/12 I was told quite rudely they were dispatched on the 5/12 and to allow 7-10 WORKING days for them to arrive. Surely if they take that long they should be dispatched at an earlier date?

Excellent choice of frames. All parts of the service handled professionally. Eye test, measurements for varifocals and fitting all given very good attention. Explanations and advice were clear.
In the reception area, all staff were very polite and most helpful. The whole process of buying new glasses was well co-ordinated. I felt very confident with the care I received.

The team at London Colney store are fantastic. Booked an eye test online, seen on time. Very thorough eye exam and eye health check. Optometrist was really good keeping me informed at all stages. Good choice of frames, I bought M&S own frames, good quality and not expensive. Very good experience and I would recommend them.

Went to have an eye test on 23rd October , chose two pairs of glasses Readers and Anti Glare glasses for driving at night. It was suggested I purchase Eye Gel & an Eye Mask following my consultation so I did . After a few weeks of not hearing anything I rang the Exeter Store and was advised one pair had arrived but not the other. Last week after a total of 6 weeks I rang again to cancel my order after receiving no contact.
To my surprise I was told they were in store & ready to collect.
Went in Friday 5th December & decided at the same time to return the Eye Mask as not used it & probably never will , to my surprise I was told I could not have a refund there & then as 35 days policy had exceeded and authorisation required from H.O for an item that cost £10-13 .
I pointed out the reason I hadn't been in sooner was because no one contacted me and the ridiculous time to get the glasses in which cost over £250 .
Still waiting to hear when I'm going to get my refund on the Eye Mask !

Time taken to assure choices. Personal touch.
What lacked was “freebies” on the date of collection. I spent £740 on a high end designer frame and top of the range varifocal essilor lenses. My reward was 2 ( yes 2) free lens wipes.
They’re £4 a box retail. I was charged for these. Come on. £4 versus £740??? That left a sour taste.
The specs are fine, visual acuity nothing to write home about. Nice colour on the photochromics though.
Overall nice personal touches, felt safe and confident the crew knew their game. Not so impressed with having to buy cleaners, even budget end outlets give you those foc.
It’s a year to my next test. Wake up and smell the coffee ( I never got one of those either!!)

My criticism is the designer glasses were far too expensive compared to other opticians and I think there is not enough choice. I would definitely make a return visit if the glasses were not so expensive and a better choice was available

Enjoyed excellent service, discussed the type of lens based upon my lifestyle. The lens have completely irradiated the dazzle experienced during night driving.

Pathetic Service.
I was without reading glasses because they broke.
Had to wait 12 days for an appointment. Turned up for appointment on time, but had to wait 55 mins before I was seeing optician. Was not impressed with eye test as I could not get perfect vision in left eye, which I pointed out. Chose my frames, £100 which included lenses. They do not state the hidden extras, so my final cost was £210., and stated they will not be ready for 7-10 working days (which is too long for someone working daily on a computer). They took a full 10 working days to arrive (20/11/25). I had to sit on top of the computer to see the screen clearly (Giving me backache). Returned to the store, and they stated I would have to have a pair of glasses for computer work, which I could have at half price £105. I ordered them, with a delivery time stated as 7-10 working days. On the tenth working day, they had still not arrived, so I demanded a refund, which was given immediately on 2nd December, 2025.

I used M&S opticians, London Colney. Very efficient service, friendly and helpful staff and a great selection of frames to choose from. This is the first time that I have used M&S Opticians. I was very pleased with the overall service and value for money. I would definitely recommend them. My new spectacles are just perfect!
