Company harassing me - fraudulent products

I had a similar experience as everyone else. I bought a pair of pants from what I thought was a local business and received an awful-quality item with another brand's logo printed on them (clearly a stolen design). I bought from Jordan Toronto which magically switched to Maria Spencer from the time I bought the item to receiving it.

When I tried to initiate a return I was told I had to ship it back to Asia at my expense AND to declare a small value on the customs form because if they had to pay duties/taxes I wouldn't get a refund...so customs fraud.

I completed a chargeback with my credit card company and Maria-Spencer has been HARASSING me ever since claiming the chargeback was fraudulent. I've received a series of escalating emails from their "Legel" team saying they have started legal proceedings and the debt has been sent to collections. I am 99% sure responses are automated because they never address my concerns in their replies.

Do not buy from them! Complete fraud!

My experience was just like that of another reviewer: fraudulent product, followed by impossible customer service. I ordered a pair of pants that turned out to be so unlike the advertised picture as to be comical. They were a plastic-y parachute material - like the cheapest of Halloween costumes. Rather than the muted colors shown on the website, they were bright and clownish. And the size small was HUGE. I immediately emailed requesting a prepaid return shipping label due to the product's lack of similarity to the photograph. The company refused to provide me with a return label, but instead suggested I keep the pants and offered to refund me a portion of my purchase price - and that portion kept increasing with each email exchange. Clearly they *really* didn't want to share their shipping address with me, which is because they are not a SoCal boutique as they claim, they are China-based. So I filed a fraud report with Visa, sent pictures, and Visa refunded my money. I then got a series of emails from the company's "Legel" team claiming that I created a fraudulent chargeback and threatening me with all kinds of penalties if I didn't immediately tell Visa to cancel the fraud charge. I initially tried to negotiate with them and said I remain happy to send the pants back as soon as they send me a prepaid label - but they said they'd only continue to speak with me once I withdrew the fraud charge with Visa. Lesson learned - wished I'd read the reviews here first.

To everyone who has been scammed by…

To everyone who has been scammed by this company: I told my CC company of the scam and sent them photos of what I ordered vs what I received and that I couldn't even contact the company because email returned undeliverable. I have saved all my emails and the CC company contacted them (I don't know how) and they refunded my money. But then after that, they I get emails from 'Legel Team' spelled wrong (Legel Team ( Maria & Spencer) <'legel-team-maria-and-spencer at sharp-and-agile-marketing-bv.reamaze.com') asking me to settle for a small amount and when I asked them to send me an address to return product they said time has passed and I sent proof that I was trying to send it the minute I got the product and they send me some address in China that doesn't even exist. Now they keep sending email every other day saying since I got the product that if I don't pay then I would be regarded as commiting fraud.
I'd say to all who have been scammed to contact their CC company and report fraud business to get your money back. I filed a complaint with BBB.

I was scammed

I never received the product, they claimed it had been delivered and showed me proof which was a complete fake. My money was stolen. Please please do not shop on this site, it’s a scam, and it’s not American.

TERRIBLE

TERRIBLE! sent the wrong item (which was horrible quality) and then continued to dodge my request that they either send the correct item or send a refund. Multiple email replies (with days and days elapsing in between) where they promised to fix their mistake and then....NADA! no correct item and no refund! I want to report them to the better business bureau or something. Don't know how to proceed, but they are truly a complete bogus operation. Do not buy!

This is THE most bogus

This is THE most bogus, disgusting company I have ever purchased something from. I ordered jeans, and I received polyester pants with a crooked zipper and no pockets - FOR $50!!! The pants were absolutely worth maybe $5. This company is such a joke that I want to do anything and everything I can to save anyone from ever buying their terrible products. No matter what you do, steer clear of this company! I will leave a review on every site I can.

Do not order from here!!!!!

Do not order from here. They are not in California like they claim. The items are CHEAP!!! I requested a return as soon as I opened the package. I did not even try the crap on. They offered 10% refund. I said no. They offered a 20% refund and said it was the last offer. I said no again. They kept saying I could return but never would give me the address or a label. They finally said I would have to return it internationally. I asked why when their website states that they’re in California. They never replied. I sent several more emails. They offered me a 30% discount. I finally just agreed to the 30% discount because I was sick and tired of going back-and-forth and they would not give me directions on how to return the cheaply made items. I gave the clothes to the thrift store. They do not allow you to return because they know the clothes are crap. They offer a 30% discount because they are still coming out way ahead with what the items are worth. Oh they got me. Please don’t let them get you.

I have saved all emails as proof.

This company is not from California or the United States. I ordered a sweater that looked beautiful on line and received a sweatshirt of very very very poor quality that looked nothing like the on line photo. When I asked to return it I was told ai would have to send to China at my expense. I would never order from this company again and recommend that you don't either.

DO NOT ORDER FROM MARIA & SPENCER.

I’d give it negative 10 if I could. I ordered clothing from a company that clams to be a US company, based in California. I ordered a dress and a hoodie. Only the hoodie came. It was a shitty, cheaply-made, screen-printed sort-of, barely version of what I ordered and NO
dress. I fought and fought for a refund, contacted my credit card company and days later Maria & Spencer initiated a refund, I thanked them, they said you’re welcome… Days later I started receiving harassing emails saying I needed to give them at least 50% of the money back or they would involve the authorities. So yeah. Needless to say, DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. Obviously they have no leg to stand on because they didn’t fulfill their end of the bargain, I did not receive the items in question.. But this has caused me a lot of distress and it’s very annoying, not to mention fraudulent.

Totally fraudulent company

Totally fraudulent company. Cheap, china materials and prints. NOT jeans material or wide leg cut. NOT a sweater ( it was actually printed on cheap sweatshirt material). NOT orthopedic shoes (cheap, narrow tennis shoes with no arch support). Are only offering 30% back for a return. Terrible.

Total Scam...BEWARE! SAGA CONTINUES

Total Scam! Total nightmare! I ordered back in September, when the company was called Jordan Toronto. Total high pressure sales tactics on the site...Last Day! Free Shipping! Great price on multiples. Site also clearly said 30 day Money Back guarantee...but when you read the fine print it's only 14 days and you have to ship back to China. LONG STORY SHORT...I did not receive my delivery and I disputed the charge with VISA. They out and out lied to VISA, and VISA gave me my money back...back in Dec 2024. This week I started getting emails from their 'Legal' department saying I better pay up. I showed them my tracking link, that even now says NOT DELIVERED...and they keep sending me this legal threat. They are a total SCAM...
UPDATE:
It is now Feb 17, 2025. They stopped email harassing me for 10 days, but started again this morning. Say they have proof my delivery was made successfully. I asked to see this "proof". They don't show me anything...but continue to send emails...today about 5. One asks me to send 50% of money...next one in a few minutes says send us 40%. All threaten legal escalation...which they can't do, of course. SCAMMY SCAMMERSONS! Fraudsters and harassers!!! BEWARE!

If I could give them zero stars I would. Complete frauds! Products and pics on websites are accurate!! They are NOT L.A. based, they do not provide a valid L.A. phone number. They are located in China and the quality is worse than SHEIN products at inflated prices. They bank on customers not wanting to go through the hassle of returning products due to the high shipping cost that is at the customers expense. Complete SCAM!! STAY AWAY!! The prices are inflated and they’ll offer you a partial refund not to ship the crappy product back to them.

This company is TRASH

I don't ever review things, but this company is SO awful, I had to. I ordered two pairs of pants. They arrived and I was shocked at just how bad the quality was. Then I realized they sent me one correct pair and one that I definitely didn't order because they were the ugliest things I've ever seen. When I told them, they said they could give me a 20% refund. AKA They MADE me pay for the ugliest pants in the world - that I didn't even order. This company is TRASH!

Trash merchandise

Beautiful pictures on the site but you receive a piece of trash. When you request a refund, they give you a fake address in China hoping that you will give up.

This company is full of it. The images make the pants look like jeans. They're not. They don't fit, and they are the same material you might find in a Spirit Halloween store.

SCAM

SCAM. I wish I had run a better search before ordering. Their website was very convincing and I thought the product was made in LA. Instead, I got a cheap, polyester (at best) product that I’m immediately throwing away. Ugly, poorly made, cheap, plastic pants. Don’t be fooled!
