Excellent service from start to finish. The staff were approachable and took the time to understand my needs before recommending the best option. The approval process was quicker than I expected, and everything was handled efficiently. Highly recommend for anyone looking for straightforward and reliable car finance in the UK.

My experience with Marsh Finance has been unacceptable.
My car has been unusable since December due to ongoing mechanical faults. Repairs have been attempted via a garage, but the vehicle has never been fixed and remains unusable. Despite this, I have continued to make full monthly payments for over four months for a car I cannot drive, causing ongoing financial strain. I’ve paid over £1,000 in repairs yet still remains unusable.
Marsh Finance have failed to take responsibility for a vehicle they legally own under a hire purchase agreement. Instead of offering a fair solution, I have been told that termination is the only option and warned this would negatively impact my credit file. No meaningful consideration has been given to the prolonged loss of use, repeated failed repairs, or the fact that I have paid hundreds of pounds for a vehicle that does not work.
This situation has been stressful, unfair, and entirely avoidable with proper customer care. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering finance with Marsh Finance to think twice.

I purchased a SsangYong Turismo a few years ago from Newton & Lee County Durham. The car was sub standard, dirty inside and out, had bad squeaking brakes, a rattle underneath plus missing interior rear trim. I wanted to return it as faulty goods but was promised by Marsh that they would ensure Tony Lee would make things right, which he never did. I took them at their word and ended up keeping the car. Paid £250 a month finance and most months between £200-£300 in repairs and replacing parts. After 3 years of never missing a payment and personal income of 50k a year I asked if I could revamp the finance and change the car and they said no. Another company offered me a £18,000 loan for a nearly new Citroen which I gladly accepted. I Voluntarily Terminated the car as paid over half but Marsh made every excuse not to collect it for around 2 months, then said I had to pay the missed finance payments. I generally dealt with a guy at Marsh called Faz and said no worries Faz I will request the help of the Ombudsman. Faz then emailed saying I could VT the vehicle with no more payments. The car was collected by BCA a couple of weeks ago and Marsh are now saying car will be sold at auction and I will need to pay the shortfall. Avoid this company like the plague as they have no internal communication skills!

I had a great experience arranging car finance through this company. Being a long-established family business really shows in the way they treat customers—with honesty and professionalism. The whole process was smooth, and everything was explained clearly. I felt confident and well taken care of throughout.

My experience with Marsh Finance has been extremely disappointing.
The vehicle I financed developed faults within just two hours of having it, and when the dealership refused to help, I immediately began the complaints process with Marsh.
Since raising the complaint, communication has been almost non‑existent. It has now been four weeks, and despite numerous phone calls and emails, I have received no meaningful updates. You cannot contact the complaints team directly, and every call must go through customer services, who repeatedly promise call‑backs that never happen. I have also requested to speak with management and have been refused each time.
I fully understand that the complaints process can take up to eight weeks, but we have been unable to drive the car at all due to the 20+ faults identified in a diagnostic report several of which were classed as dangerous. This has left us in a very difficult position with work, appointments, and school runs. We are using public transport where possible, but it is incredibly frustrating to have a car sitting outside that we legally and safely cannot drive.
It took Marsh over three weeks just to arrange an independent inspection, and since the inspection took place, we have heard nothing, even though the investigator stated he would send the report to them immediately. The lack of communication has caused unnecessary stress, delays, and a complete loss of confidence in their customer service.
A finance company should support customers when a vehicle is faulty, especially when safety‑critical issues are involved not make the process harder. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Marsh Finance to anyone. When genuine support is needed, it simply isn’t provided, yet they are consistently quick to take payments without hesitation. I am also repeatedly reminded that failing to make payments for a car we cannot use would negatively impact my credit score! It's extremely frustrating that we need to pay for a car we are not able to use.
Update
Thanks for getting back to me via your reply on here. I simply am just asking for communication as its been 4 weeks since we logged the complaint. The inspection was almost a week ago and we haven't recieved any details regarding next steps.
Update 13th April 2026
It has now been six weeks since I raised my complaint and almost three weeks since the vehicle inspection, yet I still haven’t received any update on the findings or the next steps. The communication throughout this process has been extremely poor and is causing unnecessary frustration.

I am currently in a dispute with Marsh Finance regarding the rejection of a vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. After an independent inspection identified 25 faults, including a safety-critical steering failure, I have attempted to exercise my statutory right to reject.
Despite the vehicle being unroadworthy and dangerous, I have been met with stalling tactics. I was incorrectly told that I must pay 50% of the finance to return the car (confusing a statutory rejection with Voluntary Termination) and told I must wait 8 weeks for a response. Under the Consumer Rights Act, a remedy must be provided within a "reasonable time" and "without significant inconvenience." Making a customer pay for and keep a dangerous vehicle for 2 months is neither reasonable nor legal.
I have now escalated this to the Financial Ombudsman Service and Trading Standards. I am disappointed that a finance company would prioritize an 8-week internal process over the immediate safety of their customer.
Advice to others: Know your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 before signing with this company.
UPDATE: Crank Angle Sensor failure that as been ignored on the vehicle diagnostics report sent in. The email back to us they say
The documentation you have supplied appears to show a current fault with a glow plug but the rest of the fault codes appear to be historical. The other issue that seams to being ignored is why was there a spare glow plug in the car bonnet? This alone tells me it was sold to us with a broken glow plug that can't be taken out.
We have also provided a video that was recorded the day after we received the car with the sounds of a failing crank angle sensor. Forty five minutes after leaving the dealer we reported to him about the sound and then that very night we reported the issue to Marsh finance.
"Following my previous review, I have now been advised by a mechanic to stop driving the vehicle immediately as the Crank Angle Sensor has failed. This is a safety-critical fault that causes the engine to cut out without warning. This issue, along with the 25 other faults, was clearly present at the point of sale on 28th February 2026.
Marsh Finance is now arranging an independent inspection, but I am told the report and process could take a further 7 days. While I appreciate an inspector is finally being sent, being left without a safe vehicle or a resolution for nearly 3 weeks is not on.
This delay will also push the case to over the magic 30 day number.
We have now had the car inspection, the inspector turned up with only the Glow Plugs listed by Marsh Finance as a problem?
Never mind the Turbo and Crank angle sensor faults.
