The bus did not enforce mask rules at all. I was very uncomfortable in a bus with at least half of the people unmasked. No announcement from the driver, unlike other modes of transportation like LIRR, New Jersey Transit and Amtrak.

Service was great! I just wished they had a route that was later than 8pm. Bus a bit too cold!

Why are there so few trips between NYC and Scranton now? The price increases, but the service goes down, especially with the removal of free WiFi. The drivers are wonderful, but the company is not particularly consumer-centric. I have to use Martz to visit family, wish Amtrak would return to Scranton so I never have to take Martz again. We holiday travelers really do need to make reservations, as long as Martz keeps those reservations. Always a dreadful experience.

The Bus arrived on time (P.A.NYC). Boarding was timely. I was so happy to see and smell such a fresh, clean bus. I enjoyed the safe, smooth ride to the Poconos for a family reunion.
On the return trip home, the Bus Depot personnel at the DWG were so kind and courteous. Very informative and answered every question I had. (I'm not a bus traveler) I enjoyed another safe smooth ride back to NYC.
Thank You Martz Group.

I recently contacted customer service via email regarding the new reservation system. Their responses were quick, professional and the issue was fixed in a few hours.

I was not able to purchase tickets online via my account. It would not accept my saved card, or allow me to delete/reenter the card. When calling the customer service number, I was told to go in person and buy tickets.
I finally had success buying online as a Guest, but I didn’t receive any rewards for the ticket purchase because of it.
When arriving at the station the following day for my trip, I was not able to pay for parking due to the Martz system being down even at the station. Other customers were also having issues purchasing tickets - the POS system seemed to be down for both cash and card payments.
Also, the bus I usually take used to be a discounted/lower price, but in the new system it was the higher price as the on-peak tickets. I assume that change was made with this new system rollout.
The new reservation system will likely be better when it is working properly, but it is clearly very flawed still, and has created a bad experience for myself and many other customers.

Lost my luggage by dropping it off at the curb instead of waiting for all boarding passengers to get off and got it stolen

Driver allowed passengers to board the bus without masks. Driver did not wear a mask the entire duration of the ride. This was contrary to the safety protocols listed on the website when booking a ticket and took away my choice as to the level of risk I was willing to take.

It doesn't matter when you take Martz they are always on time. When there is heavy traffic, they radio other bus drivers for better alternate routes for a smooth ride. Always excellent.

There are individual drivers who do a great job but generally speaking there's terrible communication between the porters and the customers - the porters in Mt. Pocono, for example, never tell anyone what bus is arriving leading to confusion, panic and occasionally fights - and drivers who scream at customers and escalate already tense situations. On two of the last three trips I made, there were situations that nearly came to blows while we were all trapped on the bus and both the porter and the driver seemed intent on making the situation way worse than it had to be by getting nasty or simply refusing to communication information to the person literally begging for help. It was horrible. On top of that the Mt. Pocono Bus Station is a mess. The parking area is filled with potholes and is a mess in rain and snow, its horribly disorganized with no clear line, as I said above, no communication WHAT SO EVER about what buses are coming in. Martz must be making millions - they've not only increased their prices by quite a lot and cut the number of buses so they're always packed but they also suspiciously have no competition between NYC and northeastern PA - and yet they fail to create a safe and effective communication strategy on site between porters, drivers and customers and regularly put people in unsafe and volatile situations. If there was another public transportation alternative, I'd take it in a heartbeat. Martz only has my business out of necessity, not out of loyalty and I've spoken with enough people standing on those godforsaken lines to know I'm not alone in that sentiment.
