Lousy business ethics
Business Name: Mavis Tires & BrakesBusiness Location: 4710 GA-332, Hoschton, GA 30548Transaction Date: Around May 1, 2026Amount Paid: $1,800 – $2,000Description of Unfair/Deceptive Business Practices:I paid this business approximately $1,800 to $2,000 for a comprehensive front-end suspension overhaul and the installation of brand-new Goodyear tires that I provided. The business failed to perform the contracted mechanical services safely, resulting in severe negligence that created an immediate, life-threatening safety hazard and destroyed my property.Within 500 miles of operation, the vehicle experienced violent steering instability, darting unpredictably across lanes. A subsequent inspection on a vehicle lift revealed that critical steering and suspension components were left completely un-secured or damaged by the technicians:The driver-side tie rod sleeve was completely loose with stripped-out nuts and bolts.The passenger-side outer tie rod bushing was destroyed.The upper ball joint bushings on both sides of the vehicle were severely damaged.The passenger-side sway bar bolt was broken.The brand-new Goodyear tires that I provided were entirely destroyed from severe feathering caused directly by the faulty suspension installation and improper alignment.This gross negligence directly caused an imminent risk of a catastrophic steering failure at highway speeds, which almost resulted in a severe, potentially fatal car accident.An independent, certified automotive shop inspected the vehicle and confirmed that all of these defects were directly created by Mavis Tires & Brakes. The second shop had to tighten the loose sleeves free of charge just to make the vehicle roadworthy enough to drive home.When I brought this life-threatening safety issue to the business's attention, the shop management was completely dismissive and refused to take accountability. Furthermore, the regional manager has closed the customer service file and refused to offer any financial resolution, restitution, or refund for the failed, dangerous repair work. I am seeking a full refund and compensation to replace my ruined tires and have the vehicle repaired safely at an independent shop. I possess full photo, video, and written documentation of all listed defects.
