Maxine Is the Problem — A Business Run by Lies, Neglect, and Zero Accountability

The problem with this business is Maxine — full stop.

I worked at Maxine’s Gentlemen’s Club across both management and security, and I can say without hesitation that the reason this venue is in such a terrible state is entirely due to the owner, Maxine. She is the single biggest issue with this business and why it continues to spiral.

Maxine has completely abandoned her responsibilities. She’s been living overseas for years, yet continues to make decisions from afar without the slightest clue about what’s happening on the ground. She doesn’t respond to calls or messages unless it suits her, and any attempt to run the business professionally is undercut by her manipulative, dishonest, and downright careless behaviour.

She lies to staff, makes secretive decisions behind people’s backs, and uses others to clean up her mess while refusing to pay them properly — if at all. In my case, I was quietly replaced without even being informed, after giving months of effort to keep the venue running. On top of that, she still owes me tens of thousands for work that was completed in good faith. No apology. No explanation. Just silence.

The venue itself is a reflection of this chaos. It’s falling apart — stained furniture, broken fittings, unclean areas, and nothing ever properly maintained. It’s dated, damaged, and disgusting. But that’s no surprise when the owner hasn’t even stepped foot inside for years and leaves everything to others while refusing to take accountability.

Maxine runs this place like it’s a personal vanity project — appearing in media, promoting herself, pretending to be involved — but the reality is she’s left a trail of unpaid workers, neglected responsibilities, and a toxic environment in her wake.

If you're considering working here, expect to be misled, overworked, underpaid, and discarded the moment it’s convenient. If you're a customer thinking of visiting, know that the glamorous image she tries to sell is completely false. The club is a crumbling shell of what it once was.

Maxine doesn’t run a business — she runs from responsibility. Avoid at all costs.
