I recently went to the CrossGates Leeds store & the lady whose name tag read Kim(nice but Dim) was absolutely LOVELY. She had a lot going on but still dealt with us with compassion & care (my Dad pass... See more

Max Spielmann seems to receive generally favourable reviews, so why this has gone wrong in my experience is a matter the company will need to investigate.
My wife paid for passport photos, but other than taking her money the photo booth failed to function. She used the inbuilt facility to talk to someone at Max Spielmann customer services, who rebooted the photo booth remotely, to no avail.
The employee said a voucher enabling my wife to obtain the photographs elsewhere would be emailed forthwith. It has never arrived.
The only way to contact the company is via an online form on its website. I've attempted this twice and the company has failed to reply either to my email address or my phone number.
I've reported the issue to my credit card company as a disputed payment, so I should receive a refund one way or another, but this is poor service on the part of Max Spielmann.

Used your outlet in Asda High Wycombe. I’d applied for a passport online and the photo had been rejected. Your employee was most helpful. He took a new photo and then uploaded it for me. Problem solved. Well done most grateful.

Went into the Dewsbury store today and was greeted by Nathan. What a lovely, polite, helpful young man. He was so chatty and helped me print out exactly what I needed, even put a photo in a frame for my mums funeral picture. Thankyou Nathan 100%customer service

Poor experience with this company. I used the Asda Livingston Photo Booth to take a photo, and the image was produced incorrectly: the bottom side is shorter than the top side, meaning the photo is not a square but a distorted rectangle.
I have now been sent a refund, but it was not easy to figure out how to contact customer service.

I dropped off 4 negatives to be developed and scanned.
After a week i received a link to my files, but it was just one negative out of 4. I was informed the remaining negatives are being processed.
I waited, then received a message that it's ready. Okay.
I went to download the remaining filed from the same cloud folder. I saw that all are there, but their webiste had an error and i wasnt able to download the remaining files. I went to get them again, but they denied access due to how many times i went in that folder (i was checking wether i got the remaining files uploaded way later than the first reel)
When i messaged, i was informed they are unable to retrieve them.
So now i paid for developing and scanning of 4 negatives, but only received scans of 1 negatives.
They are rubbish, and their customer service is useless, i have all the emails where you can see that they don't read about the problem or they just ignore purposefully.
Will never use them again.

I ordered three photo albums from the Tesco/Spielmann website nearly two weeks ago and never received the items. The website I ordered from seems to not exist now and despite filling in a contact form on the Spielmann website twice, I have still heard nothing. I never received any email acknowledgment of my contact forms.
I can only assume this is a scam and I have lost my money - do not trust this website!

We were in Asda Wigan shopping, when we walked past the Max Spielmann instore and I remembered a question I had about how to print out a square picture into 6x4.
We were served by Annika who was so helpful explaining the difference. She was so helpful, we ended up having the picture printed correctly into 3 copies and ended up buying 3 frames (on sale which was an extra bonus)
I am disabled and suffer from severe brain fog so the fact that Annika took her time helping me really made a difference.
I would come to this store again just to be served by her.

I use the Max Spielmann Photo Lab shop within the Tesco Store - Telford Wrekin Retail Park. Each visit it is to print off colour photos from my Smartphone. My most recent visit was made on TUES 21 OCT25 and the the following day WED 22 OCT25.
On the Tuesday "Layla" was manning the Photo Lab. She was very pleasant, friendly & professional and quickly processed my photos order. I also asked her what technology did their photo printer used as my past career was at Xerox so curious. She very kindly told me how is all worked for their Matte or Gloss photo printers. In all I enjoyed my experience and was surprised how quickly Layla handled my orders. Thank you Layla.
On the Wednesday I returned to the Photo Lab as I wanted more Photo prints to post to Relatives. On this day "Michelle" was in the shop. In the past Michelle has served me before, and like this visit she was FANTASTIC. I asked Michelle for advice on photo print sizes and mounting, and as I had Photo frames with me she gave me her recommendations. At the photo Shop I purchased a mount with my Photos order and Michelle was very kind to even mount the larger printed photo for me within the mount in my frame.
The result was brilliant :- showing off our smiling 4 month Grandson (Lando) on his play mat.
Very Cute :)
Thanks once again Michelle for outstanding Customer Service.
You have to pick your time when visiting the Photo Lab as occasionally they can be busy with several customers in line.
For me on all my visits I never had to wait very long (served immediately or in a couple of minutes).
Thank you "Layla" and "Michelle" for managing all my orders in OCTOBER 2025 and past orders earlier this year. You were both SUPERB and very Customer Focused AAAAA+++++
See you again soon for more Photo prints.
Kind Regards, David G - Leegomery, Telford

I spent four hours today trying to take a facial recognition photo for my Australian e visa application. Max Spielmann previously did a fantastic job applying for my wife’s passport. My wife suggested we seek their help. We went to their shop in Broughton near Chester. Enter Ange. Even though she is very professional she was struggling with taking the photo on the app. However she persevered and would not be beaten. Her success allowed me to submit my visa today for a trip to Perth in two weeks. My sense of relief was palpable. My wife went off to buy Ange a bunch of roses. Ange deserves a great pat on the back. She is a great ambassador for Max Spielmann. I did get carried away and gave her a huge hug. Thank you Ange.

Today at the Tesco Gillingham branch was the worst experience I’ve ever had I had to print something off wasn’t sure how to do it the woman who was working there was so rude and abrupt never come across anything like it in my life the young girl that worked there before was so helpful all the woman kept saying was I’ll call security I said for what asking for help rude is a understatement then I told her about her manners she was arguing with me going on about my height the way I looked I’m still in shock nasty woman. I e tried looking for the customer number to speak to some one but that doesn’t appear to be online how can you run a business with staff like that she is a vile woman who needs to be trained on her customers service absolutely shocking but will not be leaving this matter.

As a family we had recently lost our wonderful mum. We wanted 2 poster collages done for her funeral. Luke from the Bury Millgate store went above and beyond with his knowledge and kindness shown towards us. He is a credit to your company.
Thank you Luke

They are worst photographers I have ever seen. Not sure if they have independent outlets or if it’s ever only in Timpsons.
Both me and my wife took photographs for passports at different Timpson outlets and the outcome is same - blurry photographs and rejected outright by consular services. The photographers haven’t got an ounce of experience or the patience to click a proper photo.
Never ever using their service again.
Oh and I have written to their customer service, yet to receive a response.

My friend and I saw Jake in the Asda store, Gloucester - he couldn't have been more helpful, understanding of what we needed and professional. We truly felt we were being looked after and he had such a lovely way about him, thanks Jake - a true asset.

Spent 40 mins in store to print 35 photos. Waste of time. File upload via Bluetooth was horrendously slow to transfer. Asked a member of staff if there was a quicker way but she lost the ones we can managed to upload. Had to give up as we only had 1 hour on the parking ticket. Never going to attempt that again.

usually I trust max spielmann, but on my recent visit to make a birthday card for my son I found that the girl who is not normally in this particular store very intrusive. On loading my photos she kept trying to take my phone of me when I had to say tell me what to do and I will do it myself so that I know next time. Once my photos were loading she made comments on each one ,which these are my personal family photos !!she made comments on what I was trying to text that it made me so uncomfortable that i said forget the text and just wanted to get out of there, then she made comments of the finished card as she was folding up. On the whole i felt that she had invaded my privacy. On getting the card home I found that I was it such a rush to get it completed that I had put one photo on twice hence missed out a photo that I wanted onto the card. Never again

This is no reflection on the in store staff as they were so helpful but online customer service terrible. Bought a poster print with boarder on line that arrived all discoloured, Online customer service told me to take back to store where I collected and they would resolve, store don't do that type of poster as online only, ended up with different type of print but was given refund. 2nd order was online photo book which came with damaged back page due to printing not posting, and arrived well after the 5 days SLA, was told they would get another sent out as a priority, 6 days later still not received in store and again refund given, so in all no goods and just a wastes of 2 weeks with refund as their answer.
