I recently went to the CrossGates Leeds store & the lady whose name tag read Kim(nice but Dim) was absolutely LOVELY. She had a lot going on but still dealt with us with compassion & care (my Dad pass... See more

Hello, I just used the Sanbury's market kiosk to have my two children's passport photos taken. Both photos were rejected due to some brightness in the photo that wasn't acceptable. I spent £20 to throw the photos away. Thank you.

Yesterday (17/01/2016) I was at Max Spielmann photo booth at Shirley Sainsbury's around 12:30 noon to take a passport size photo. After the payment and the first attempt, when I do a second shot, the system crashed. When I click back button, it starts from home page and crashes again.
Their website literally says 'Take up to 10 passport pictures until you’re 100% happy with them!'. That is really an important feature and I have used it at another booth just weeks ago. The screen at the booth also advertise that we can take upto 10 photos and choose from it.
I called the customer service (03316302262) around 12:35, provided the location id (5960) and explained the issue. The lady who picked up the phone was unbelievably rude! She accessed the machine remotely and I could see her doing something and asked me to try again. The same happened - system crashed after first attempt while she was watching. Then she changed her tone and started arguing with me saying 'why cant I just accept the first photo', 'you look the same in every photo anyway', etc!! If you have the recording of the conversation, please listen to it. Then I asked for refund if the system keep crashing and it can't be fixed - she refused instantly and her reason was that the system is able to take first photo and I make it crash (by following the onscreen instruction to try again for second shot)!!! I said I don't want to continue the conversation and left the booth. I could see her then rebooting the system.
They're not delivering what they promise and employing inefficient people to deal with customers.

The shop I write about is within Asda at the Trafford Centre. I have never visited before, but twice this week (13th and 15th January 2026) I needed prints.
The young staff on both occasions were exceptional. Helpful, knowledgable, efficient and kind. Theknew everything there was to know about printing. The prices were really reasonable too. I would like to thank both men on the quality of their service and professionalism - and the prints were great too!

Extremely poor service and rude customer support. Avoid at all costs.

I ordered prints as a click and collect service from a large Tesco store. This was supposed to be a 20 min collection however I never received the collection number. On contacting Max Speilman, I was advised to contact the ‘branch’. This was not possible and the 20 min service was really 4 days to get prints. Poor customer service as they also advised customers don’t always get emails. Fix the issue and deliver the service you promise to.

Absolutely first class service from the Walkden branch. Wasn’t sure the name of the lad who served me but he went over and above. Nothing was too much trouble. Thanks so much 🩷

I attempted to use the £10 passport photo at a kiosk. It took my cc payment but the machine failed to take a photo. After numerous attempts I went their store which was next to booth in Tesco’s. The Store said they had nothing to do with booth even though they were under the same company name.
After a bit of pressure I got the customer service contact telephone number.
I really need the photos so they did them in store for the higher price of £12.99. Because I ended up with actual copies I had no need of. The booth would have given me just a digital set.
I contacted customer services. 1st time connection was lost as they transferred me to the correct department.
2nd time yes they’re refunding the original £10. But no offer a a partial refund on the photos I didn’t want Said it was because I got personal service. I’m not amused.

Used the photo printing kiosk at Tesco—unfortunately the print looks nothing like the digital version. The colours and overall quality are poor (the ink looks awful), and it was pricey for what you get.

Ordered x3 slim line calendars (2 to be the same) and x1 desktop calendar. The 2 calendars that were supposed to to be the same were the wrong photos. Thought I had done the order incorrect so ordered another slim calendar with the correct photos. When it arrived it was the photos from the calendar that I had already received wrong. Contacted customer services telling them the problem and requesting a refund. Received an email asking for a picture of the calendars . Explained that the correct ones were Christmas presents, sent a picture of the 2 calendars that were wrong and a picture of the photo that should have been on the front (didn’t send the pictures that should of been on the inside). I have heard nothing back from customer services despite emailing them again requesting a refund of £26. Won’t be using them again.

I ordered some prints on the afternoon of 22 December to make an album for my wife for Christmas.
I paid an additional £7.99 for next day express delivery to my home.
It is Monday 29 December tonight as O write this review and the photos still haven’t arrived.
I contacted customer services. Caitlin Green responded to tell me the photos are ready for in-store collection and put this in bold, as if I was an idiot.
But the confirmation email clearly states they were for home delivery and, moreover, Caitlin did not say which Max Spielmann store the photos are ready for delivery at (there are several near where I live).
The experience has been terrible and after contacting them this morning I’ve heard nothing more.
I’m now just at the point where I want the £64.09 I spent refunded. As far as I’m concerned they’ve just stolen my money.
I see on other negative reviews they respond asking you to contact their customer service - but this is pointless - they just ignore you and have not even acknowledged my request for a phone call.
If anyone at Max Spielmann with an ounce of decency does read this - my order number is 25121581510 and my customer service reference number is 36139.

The manager of the shop Eddie was very helpful, respectful and patient. The shop was very busy but he still managed to give everyone a personalised service thank you.

Colchester Store - I reluctantly visited the store 18/12/26 after a stressful visit to the same store on 17/12/26 where I ended up leaving without what I needed. However this time I was served by Shauna who went above and beyond to help me and I left having a great customer experience and everything I needed printed in time for christmas. Thank you Shauna you restored my faith in using Max Spielman in the future.

Ordered a personalised desk calendar for a new year present. Just recieved it. It looks great except for the printed bar code on the front picture. Why would you do that. Put it on the back. Its ruined the look of the calendar and made it look cheap. Also what if my friend had wanted to save that picture and put it in a frame. That would not work now. When someone recieves a personalised present it should look perfect when they open it. What a ridiculous and ugly looking thing to put on the front of a present

Max Speilman, ASDA Scunthorpe, I had to apply for a new passport. The place was heaving with people getting photos, purchasing mugs that you can put your own design on and I was there wanting to get my passport application done. The lady present was on her own as one of the other members had booked off sick. She managed to go from one customer to the next helping them at different stages and was very aware of what she was doing and how to do her job!! I was very impressed with her calm nature and how she showed everyone respect under challenging circumstances for herself to deal with. This was at Scunthorpe Asdas Max Spiel man. She deserves a medal for her overall ability. I can’t help but feel a pang of regret for not having her name to share!

I collected a heart photo slate on 19 December which had been printed incorrectly and would not stand on the supplied stand.
I returned to the Piccadilly, Manchester city centre branch to request a reprint and was served by Joe. He was curt, dismissive, and unwilling to help. When I tried to discuss a solution, he raised his voice, gestured to the queue, and dismissed me before serving another customer.
In contrast, his colleague Amber was polite, professional, and helpful - even apologising about his behaviour. Customers in the queue agreed Joe's manner was shocking and hostile and everyone was quietly looking and on edge. Joe’s conduct was unacceptable.

Bought a framed picture online to collect at the Asda Minworth store. Went to pick it up a few days later, staff couldn't find it, not apologetic and dare I say quite combative in their handling of it until they realised the mistake was clearly theirs. Waited for over 10 minutes. Eventually found it in a bag on the floor behind the counter. Definitely a good product but would pick a different branch in future.
