Won’t return my $7000 over payment

I made a $7000 lump sum payment in August toward paying off my Mercedes. Then in September MBFS took another unauthorized $7000 from my bank account plus the normal payment which not only paid off my car but left them owing me money. After numerous phone calls and being lied to about when they would reimburse me, I still don’t have a check. I’ve been trying since September 21st to get the $7000 returned. This is unacceptable and I agree with the other negative reviews. They are an unscrupulous company and I will never do business with them again. This in my opinion puts a stain on the entire Mercedes company.

I have had a new S580 on order since last fall and understand all about the pandemic and issues related to that! I have decided to buy my current 2018 S560 in addition to two new S580's. This has been the most painful experience I have had trying to buy something! after buying some 50 plus new MB's over the years it could cause me to buy as much elsewhere as possible!

Lied to and cheated out of money

I was told by the dealer I could not have the vehicle discount unless I took out a loan on the vehicle. I was assured by the dealer there were no penalties if I paid the loan off early and called Mercedes benz finance to also confirm there were no penalties if I paid the loan off early. However they both lied to me as 4 months into a 24 month loan I got a settlement figure and it included almost 12 months of interest!!
BEWARE THIS COMPANY WILL LIE TO YOU

I am now going to persue this with the financial ombudsmen if I am not satisfactorily reimbursed

What a poor service from probably the worst company in the world.
They are all still working from home precious little darlings and as they are working from home watching Netflix all day they are not doing their job properly very incompetent.
I rang a guy called Joel to complain after a heated discussion he said that as he is working from home he cannot help me properly or give the service we all pay for.
I won a dispute with them as they never entered my details for DD as made me fall behind with my payments as I was working out of the country I didn't do any online banking as I assume that if you give your details to the person on the phone they will do it silly me. I then had a call from collections saying they where going to take the car I rang up paid and then gave my DD details again this is why I won my dispute they said I would get £100 quid never came three months later they did it again they never entered my DD details as they are working from home I have now sold the car and all I can say is good riddance to bad customer service.
Mercedes Benz you should be ashamed of yourself once a great company now a money grabbing #@#+

Atrocious service

As with the majority of reveiws i woulkd leave a zero star rating if possible
I applied for and was granted a three months holiday payment as a result of the covid pandemic. Mercedes Benz informed me of my new post holiday payments and ask me for confirmation to which I gave my agreement to. Once the holiday period finished Mercedes were taking £70.00 per month more that our agreement. When I emailed them for an explanation I was told that they had made a mistake with their calculations, the new payments were as taken from my bank and when I stated I believed them to be in breach of contract and tried to negotiate an extension to the agreement was told that they did not have the capacity to do anything about it. As a result of this I emailed and told them that I would cancel my direct debit and set up a standing so as to maintain control of the payments and would pay them the pre covid holiday payments until they had the capacity to sort the problem out and inform me what was owed. numerous emails and six months later I was informed that £1145.82 was owed and that the they were not prepared to do any thing and that although they had made a mistake the new increased payment stood. The outstanding money was paid and a decision made to sell the car and be done with Mercedes.

Due to the time in negotiating a deal on a new vehicle ( not a Mercedes I hasten to add) I received two settlement figures from Mercedes. On finalising the new car deal I again requested a settlement figure due to the previous two expiring and was told that they couldn't provide one as there was no direct debit set up on the account to which I explained was a contradiction as the previous two month settlement figures were provided and no direct debit was set up on the account then or the account in arrears. As a result of this an official complaint was raised which was up held.
After thinking my troubles with Mercedes Benz were over I couldn't have been further from the truth. After selling the Mercedes to we buy any car.com (receiving £4000 more than Mercedes were prepared to offer) settling the outstanding finance and receiving confirmation from Mercedes that payment had been received and the agreement was settled, another £1012.60 was claimed from my bank and I also received a phone call from we buy anycar.com that Mercedes would not release their interest in the vehicle as they stated there was still out standing finance on the vehicle.
Another complaint was raised with Mercedes and after them confirming acknowledgement of my complaint and stating that they would investigate and were looking to award further compensation and a gesture of good will giving every excuse under the sun was given from Covid pandemic, technical errors to the member of staff dealing with the matter being on holiday for not giving a conclusive answer. Eventually an email was received from the customer resolutions team leader stating that there was no outstanding finance on the vehicle, a gesture of good will had been offered when this was not the case and as far as he was concerned the matter was closed. No explanation as to why additional monies were claimed when the agreement was settled, why they maintained there was outstanding finance on the vehicle preventing the third party selling the vehicle and no apology for the inconvenience and stress caused. With this much unprofessionalism and incompetence I can only think Mercedes Benz would not want to do their dirty laundry in public.

With the amount of negative reviews you would think that senior management would return from the golf course and change the way they do business but it would seem that Mercedes financial services do not give a toss about their customers and seem them as a revenue source only

Totally useless unless they're trying to take more money off of you.

Having leased a Mercedes for over 3 years, it's become pretty clear Mercedes and Mercedes Benz Financial Services couldn't care less about their customers or any sort of customer service.

They don't reply to emails, are no help at all on the phone and only seem to care when it comes to charging you.

In 3 years, Mercedes were awful in dealing with both a punctured tire abroad (which they initially said they would take care of before suggesting it wouldn't be ready until after I had left the country and making me pay to get my vehicle back from the Mercedes garage)

After my contract ended, they have tried to charge me over £1,500 in damages despite the first inspector commenting on how good the condition of the car was after 3 years. There is a small bobble in the fabric on the seat (it happens after sitting on the car every day for 3 years) - they've charged me £360 for this alone.

Mercedes are great cars but this Company has no redeeming qualities. They'll do anything to take more of your money and nothing to be helpful when needed. I couldn't advise it strongly enough - avoid!

The bereavement team were fantastic

The bereavement team were fantastic. I contacted the team following the loss of my father. He had a brand new vehicle with mbfs, less than 6 months old before he passed unexpectedly.
I was petrified I would be sent a bill for the vehicle being in negative equity.
Mbfs offered me two options, purchase the vehicle from them or to hand it back at no cost- they did not pressure me for an answer either way and allowed time for us to make a decision as a family . I took the latter offer, they arranged prompt collection and they settled the loan.
Mb servicing also refunded the service plan, which I never asked for. Was much appreciated.

Thanks to the bereavement team for making the process much easier.

Complete disgrace of a company

Complete disgrace of a company. Has tried to charge me for end of lease damages with no proof or evidence for most charges and also contradicts their own charge matrix (available online) on other charges.
Have contested the charges only for them to take one charge out completely (surprised) and lowered the charges for 3 other items, expecting me to accept a lower figure even though this is so wrong. Still provided no photos of exact damaged caused. They are now threatening me with court action. This is how loyalty is reciprocated when you lease out mercedes cars for your fleet for many years. Wrong on so many levels.

Unbelievable

Unbelievable

I recently requested a settlement figure from MBFS to clear an agreement I had.

Settlement figure was raised on 4/4 and was valid until 30/04. All funds sent in full by faster payments on 29/04.

MBFS claim that after I'd paid the balance in full and had confirmation that I'd paid the balance I'd then requested a second settlement figure on 06/05 which was a higher figure as such there was around £200 owing.

I sent them a number of emails asking what that amount was and never had any response. In the absence of any response I raised it as a complaint. Having heard nothing for weeks from complaints or collections I assumed they'd resolved it, until yesterday I received a final demand for payment from a debt collector for the amount they claimed I owe - still without explanation.

Ive since had a response from their complaints team saying that I'd requested a second settlement figure on the 6/5 after I'd settled the account in full on 29/4.

This was their response:
In response to your email, the first settlement figure was raised online by yourself and the second one was raised as requested by you, on our internal system and therefore you would have been notified upon requesting it or sent details through email or post, you would have only received them if you requested for them to be sent to you.

Dont trust MBFS, I can't believe in this day and age they have tried to do this.

I asked them how they can send a debt to a DCA without first explaining what its for or checking their internal systems.

Ive sent them a screen shot of all the e documents ive had from them which didn't include this mystery second settlement figure.

They really are crooks.

If they could validate and explain in a coherent way what they think that money is for if there was a mistake made on my part I'd pay it but their stance is that they believe I owe it based on a mystery settlement figure generated after the balance was cleared.

Avoid this company, there are lots of alternatives out there

This company offers the worst service I have ever experienced. They hide behind their policies of responding within15 days, ( which they don't even manage to do ) they take payments from your account when the agreements have been settled. They are incompetent, arrogant and have so little interest in their customers that they make it impossible to do business with. Mercedes may produce decent cars, but Mercedes Finance are appalling.

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Well over 5 hours on the phone calling regarding my title only to be given a 3 week delay, a wrong tracking number, a lot of lies and the title to be mailed snail mail to the wrong address. No accountability or opportunity to speak with a manager or anyone to provide any level of customer service.

CHOOSE A CAR FROM ANYWHERE ELSE

Absolutely awful service from such a large company. Changed a payment date, have a screenshot of the payment date being next month but has been taken the month before so have paid twice for my car this month....three months into the agreement this is a really rubbish service. Customer services Aidan completely unhelpful and i "may" hear back within the next 15 working days. If I could rate this less than 1 star I would.

Asking for payment on a vehicle that I no longer have

Handed vehicle back 2 months early. Notified them and it was picked up by BCA. They have now billed me for 2 months instalments on a vehicle I no longer have. They never warned me about this otherwise I would have put off my replacement car. They will not budge open this and insist I owe them. Tantamount to theft! Avoid dealing with this company

Zero stars if the option

Zero stars if the option. Mercedes organised the collection of my car through BCA logistics when it came to the end of the lease. Less than 24 hours later presumably a driver from BCA, was thrashing my old car down the M6 and was caught by a speeding camera. Three times I have had to submit evidence and a Notice of Intended Prosecution to Warwickshire police proving that the vehicle had been collected the day before, because BCA refuse to inform the police who was driving and the police keep returning the NIP to me. It is illegal to take someones points. I did not own the vehicle the day it was caught speeding I have no knowledge who was driving the vehicle. BCA/ Mercedes are refusing to accept responsibility and I may be summonsed to a court hearing. Be very careful when your car is returned to these. Get photos of the driver collecting the vehicle. Get their name, keep all copies of the texts they send out to you prior to the collection and make sure you cover your selves - but more importantly just don't deal with Mercedes they couldn't care less!

PCP agreement - ripped off!

Similar to other experiences on here. Not much popped up on inspection when at our home but later received a bill for £2,500 for damage for the car. Outrageous prices for repairs, an example being £260 for a stone chip! (Which you would think comes under reasonable wear & tear when you’ve have had a car for 3 years). Tried to dispute and have even been through financial ombudsman, but because I signed a contact I don’t have any option but to pay these disgraceful prices... although financial ombudsman service agreed that the charges are overpriced in comparison to other car dealers Mercedes can set there own amounts. My parents had a Lexus which had more “damage” when returned and didn’t get charged a penny as Lexus clearly have reasonable standards of what is acceptable. I have been with Mercedes for 10 years but will never use them again. Terrible customer service too!

I would give it 0 stars if I could

I would give it 0 stars if I could. The rating speaks for itself.
If you’ve come here to decide wether or not to lease a vehicle through Mercedes, DO NOT DO IT!!! They will rip you off the second you give the vehicle back. They charge you for “damages”that aren’t or certainly weren’t there, in my case the roof of all places, conveniently, teaming up with equally incompetent company BCA to ensure you have to pay these unfair, extortionate charges. You can’t even see the “damage” in the pointless photos they send yet you’re expected to take their word for it and pay extortionate prices to “rectify” it.
Also, there is no way of knowing it was actually the vehicle you sent back, even if you could see any damage, as they send a close up of the bodywork, no number plate in sight.
In my case, BCA (the company that collects the vehicle when the agreement is over) refused to do a check over of the vehicle upon collection as it was getting dark. They didn’t send me the report the following day as they said they would, in fact NEVER sent me the report. When I finally did see a copy, after Mercedes were charging me for damages, I found out BCA did the check of the vehicle a WHOLE WEEK after they took the vehicle.
The driver for BCA told me himself that he was taking the vehicle home over the weekend before taking it to the depot so anything could have happened to it. I never had the opportunity to sign anything to say I agreed to the “damage” found.
I had the vehicle completely checked over at MOT for any dents/scrapes, had 4 brand new tyres fitted (even though there was still plenty of tread on current ones) had a new windscreen fitted instead of a chip repair and basically spent a small fortune ensuring the vehicle was in fantastic condition, also spending an entire day cleaning the interior and exterior, to avoid any unnecessary charges and they still screwed me over. CROOKS. I will never use them again. They’ll happily take BCA’s word for it that damage wasn’t done whilst in their possession, if there is actually any damage at all, so the complaints and investigations procedure is an absolute joke too. Waste of time. I will never spend a penny of my money with Mercedes again, AVOID MERCEDES!!! All they want is your money.

Could be better

Have had 3 vehicles all on finance with MBFS

One traded in. One returned at end of PCP one settled in full.

No issues during the life or return of vehicles even with COVID going on

The problem comes at the end of the agreement.

MBFS in every instance have not updated my credit report reflecting the accounts are settled.

It takes weeks and weeks and phone calls to get they to respond. Often the staff on the phone aren’t able to help and everything has to be escalated.

It’s pretty poor
