McGee & Co. was created in a spare bedroom with lots of big ideas and no room for fabric samples. After many late nights of brainstorming and collaboration, husband and wife team, Syd and Shea McGee decided to take what was a small business for a stay-at-home mom and turn it into something much more.

I have placed several orders with them and was generally happy with their customer service, that is until I made a furniture order. The piece turned out to be on back order and that date keeps getting pushed back by many months and customer service won’t let me cancel. They expect me to wait 7 months for this order! We won’t even be living in the same house by then! They say they can only cancel if they hear back from the manufacturer. Otherwise I’m out of luck. Well apparently the manufacturer is ignoring them, probably because they really want to sell the item. Newsflash this isn’t how companies are supposed to do business, you take care of your customers FIRST by refunding them and then you as the company deal with the manufacturer behind the scenes. Never EVER buy anything high value from McGee especially if it's already on back order. (Why are they even selling out of stock items in the first place??) Really these business practices should be illegal.

I ordered the somewhat famous Scarlett pendants for my new build kitchen. The light fixtures are gorgeous, however in our space the taupe leather looked more green than taupe so we returned them. The total purchase with shipping and taxes was $3,800. The restock fee per pendant was $650 (!!!!), plus another $475 for shipping. My total refund was $1,100 for the three pendants. An absolute joke. I basically still paid for two of the three items. I should have just kept them and let the color be off. i cannot believe they charge that much of a restocking fee, considering these aren't even items made by them.

I recently made a purchase from McGee & Co. for Christmas decor, and while I was initially excited by the website's beautifully curated products and imagery, my experience was ultimately disappointing due to damaged items, poor customer service, and the undisclosed resale of third party goods.
Upon receiving my order, I discovered that several items were damaged—broken or missing parts—leading to immediate frustration. The Sword Nutcracker was sitting on the bottom of the box without packaging and golden bells were just thrown in the box. Given the premium pricing and the expectations set by the website, I was shocked to receive such poor-quality items. This lack of quality control was a major disappointment. But after spending some time unboxing, I realized many of the items were from a third party with a simple "McGee and Co" label placed over the original label a D either damaged or missing parts.
When I contacted customer service to address the issue, the experience only worsened. The representative I spoke with was combative and uncooperative, questioning whether the damage had occurred during shipping, rather than focusing on resolving my initial issue, which were the damaged goods resold by a third party. When I expressed my desire to return the merchandise, I was met with resistance. Instead of providing a straightforward solution, the rep seemed unwilling to authorize the return, which only added to my frustration. McGee & Co. purchases their decor from third-party vendors and then relabels the merchandise under their own name. While this is a common practice, the company does not take the necessary steps to ensure the quality of the items before they are shipped to customers. In this case, it was clear that the products had not undergone proper quality control checks, leading to the subpar condition of the merchandise.
As a consumer, this experience was both frustrating and disheartening. Not only did I have to deal with the inconvenience of damaged goods, but the lack of transparency regarding the third-party sourcing which makes me question the brand’s commitment to quality. When you shop with a well-known brand like McGee & Co., you expect a certain level of quality assurance and customer service. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling that these expectations were not met.
Furthermore, the time spent on trying to resolve the issue with customer service only added to the frustration. Instead of receiving immediate assistance, I was caught in a cycle of back-and-forth communication, with slow response times and no immediate resolution. The damaged decor not only ruined the holiday spirit but also wasted precious time that could have been spent enjoying the festive season.
Eventually, the representative told me that they would allow me to return damaged merchandise and the third party goods but that she was going to "write notes in my account" about the purchase. I was left feeling as though I was being scolded like a child for questioning damaged third party merchandise.
In conclusion, while McGee & Co.'s website and product images are visually appealing, the lack of quality control, damaged items, and unhelpful customer service turned my shopping experience into a negative one. This situation has underscored the importance for businesses to maintain high standards not only in product presentation but also in customer service, clear communication, and responsiveness.
A good reminder that as pretty as marketed online goods are, buyer beware.

I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN. I bought the Georgina Chandelier which I saved up SO long for as I thought this piece would be amazing in my home and took me a few months to save up for. I live in Canada so not only are these prices in American which are a lot more expensive for me. I bought the chandelier 22 days ago. There is now a 30% promotion...so from $1950 USD to $1365 USD which is a savings of 585 USD which is 817.48 CANADIAN. They will not even budge and reimburse me the difference. I also paid 600 dollars to have it imported into Canada. They have no idea the amount of money I have spent nor will make the exception to do it. They said I can return the chandelier and buy it at the sale price. How does that make sense??? I now have to pay to have it be sent back to the states. Zero customer service on their end. They have lost a huge fan of Shea McGee and of the McGee and Co brand. This probably won't make a difference to her or her company but I am so upset by this whole situation that I don't want to ever buy from there again. If I could give this a zero rating I would.

There are very distracting marks on the wood that was delivered and because we reported this outside of the 40 day window they are only offering 150 dollars back or a return - the reason we couldn't report the defect item sooner is because we were out of town and the reason we were out of town is beaucase they changed the delivery date twice and so shipment was extremely late.
Obviously sending an enormous table back in the mail is not an option and 150 dollars off is insulting.
They could send new legs or offer to pick up the table for a refund, or really they should be sending out a new table not asking us to return it.
On top of all of this they still don't know what caused the marks and are 'looking into it'.
Overall extremely disappointed in the customer service, I've been patient but buying a table that is faulty and marked and not offering a solution or to replace it is shocking.
I even considered returning it and ordering a new one again but how can we trust the wood won't arrive in the same condition, months later and with no. promise of repair or replacement for a brand new item.

I have never written a Trustpilot review before, but after my recent experience with McGee & Co, I felt the need to write something.
I placed an order for the Gingham Kids Chair on 8/30/24. When I ordered the chair, there was nothing on the website to indicate any sort of shipping delay. Today is 9/30/24, and in the last month I have not received any updates from McGee & Co.
I reached out to customer service via chat, and was informed that the item is backordered and will ship on 12/30/24. How is a business this large experiencing such inexcusable supply chain issues? And with absolutely no communication to the customer?
I will be sticking with other more reliable home decor companies, like Lulu & Georgia, Serena & Lily, One Kings Lane, and Restoration Hardware, and Wayfair.

Consistently disappointed in the quality of items I have ordered from them in the last two years. They have some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. It's been 5 weeks since refusing delivery for a defective and expensive upholstered bed and I'm still trying to get a refund.
Update: Their claim that they have issued a full refund is false. Still waiting for my refund.

Ordered our item almost 3 months ago and it continues to be pushed back. Their customer service team's response is that "backorder dates are subject to change". This was not ordered as a backorder it was ordered with a 4-6 week lead time. And not once was an email sent saying that has changed.

I placed an order 8 days ago and it still hasn’t shipped. When I called customer service I was told my order would be shipping out that day. My order still hasn’t shipped with zero communication as to why. This is unacceptable when every other retail competitor ships within a day or two.

Update 9/23: I submitted a claim on 9/3 and the issue hasn't been resolved.
I recently bought a Cedar Lamp Shade from this company and one of the lamp shades arrived discolored and misshapen. Despite providing photographs to illustrate the issue, customer service did not address the concern appropriately and instead requested that I resend the pictures. This experience has been quite disappointing.

We ordered a light fixture that keeps getting pushed back. It’s been months and the customer service continues to say it’ll be “shipped next week”. We tried to cancel the order but they won’t allow us to cancel and have completely ignored the messages requesting to do so. I’d never recommend this company.

Overrated and OVERPRICED and terrible customer service. I’m so done with McGee and Co . Used to be good when they first started yet now the quality is junk, absolute junk. Everything is about how to make them more money - quality is junk! Everything feels disposable. Worst part is the shipping charges ! Do your homework… The few pieces that are good are made and manufactured by other companies. If you do your homework, you’ll save a ton of money and avoid terrible service .

I would give negative stars if possible. I previously ordered a console and it was supposed to be white glove service but I had to assemble it myself. I had also ordered a dining table which wasn’t ready yet. I was told in writing that this table would be white glove delivery. Sure enough, shows up and we have to assemble it. $500 shipping and delivery to put it together myself. The table looks like target. Horrible quality. Wobbles and the wood looks cheap. $2000 to look like target. Never ordering from here again. I want my money back.

We ordered a light fixture in May. It's not Aug 15 and it has yet to arrive. Customer service continues to say it'll be shipped out "next week".

This company is a scam. Placed an order in June. Never told it was backordered, kept calling and they kept saying they would get back to me. Finally told them to cancel. Said they needed to get approval? WHAT? Then 5 min later I get an email saying it "Shipped" but no tracking info. total BS. SCAM CHEATERS, LIERS. CANT BELIVE McGEE would be associated with this. Can you say class action lawsuit coming...

I placed an order for a furniture item on their website. I received the wrong item on July 5th. I submitted a request to rectify the issue on July 5th on their website. Today is July 26th, the issue is still open. They did not make arrangements for the incorrect item they sent me. They have not sent me the replacement item. And, they have not issued a refund. I saw how long the process was taking and requested a refund 5 days ago, but have not received one nor any communication about getting one. I only received initial responses from a "Heather" when I submitted my issues via their support form online. At this point, the company has stolen my money and this is criminal.
I'm going to file criminal charges against them.
Update July 30th, 2024:
The company has responded to this Trust Pilot review falsely claiming that they've yet to receive responses for me. I have several email chains responding to them, making it clear that I want a refund. This company is so shady and fraudulent.

I can't even count how many items I've ordered from McGee and Co that have arrived damaged. And the quality on many (most) of their items does NOT match their high prices.
I purchased a coffee table from them last summer (the Herrin). When we unboxed it, we discovered it had several cracks along the joints where the wood slats had been glued together for the top of the table. They did replace it. However, within a month those same cracks started on the new table. My daughter in Nashville has the same table and when I visited her the following month, I discovered hers has the same exact cracks all over it in the exact same places! (That's three tables out of three at this point.)
I contacted customer service and was told they have been having that problem with those tables and that it's a manufacturing defect....but there is nothing they (McGee) can do for me. (I'll actually replace "nothing they CAN do for me" with "nothing they WILL do for me.")
So they sell a table (it's still sold on their website as we speak!) that they KNOW has a manufacturing defect, but if you buy it and your table cracks (which it will), OH WELL, you are stuck with a $2400 cracked coffee table. (Plus INSANE shipping costs.)
Unbelievable.

I would like to give this 3.5 stars. My challenge with McGee is alignment of brand, service and values. They're pitched (and priced) as high end, and so far yes, their products have been good. However I don't feel the service or policies align with this point in the market. Buying full price items, only for them to go on sale days later, with no willingness to offer a price adjustment (and no advertisement of upcoming sale); extremely expensive shipping; and by all accounts returns are very tricky as well. I'd love to love this brand, but they need to align to their price point, in every part of their business.

We have spent over 50k over the last year and their customer service is horrible. The lost our bed and we had to wait 3 months for them to figure it out. A lot of there stuff is Four Hands products so save money and buy direct from them with better service

Do not buy furniture from McGee and Co. They do not return or exchange. This is not typical, I have purchased from RH, Pottery Barn ect.
