Top notch customer-service and high (interest) return
I have found ME Bank customer-service responsive, helpful, efficient and communicates well. Plus I am happy with the amount of interest on my accounts that I am receiving.
Don't pay the interest they promise
This bank has a great interest rate on its HomeMe account but one problem - it fails to pay the interest on time. For June interest that was due on 1 July 2024 I am still waiting, and its 17 july 2024 today. Several calls to the bank have yielded only a promise to pay it in 10 business days, but still i wait. No compensation, no apology. I know other people have also had this issue - its an outrageous way for a bank to behave. I have withdrawn my money and put it elsewhere but still i wait to be paid approx $400 interest that was due for June. Next step is the small claims tribunal and lodge a complaint with AFCA. Best stick with ING, Ubank or other reputable banks.
This is the worst bank ever
This is the worst bank ever. Avoid them at all costs. I've invested thousands in a deposit account and they cap the maximum withdrawal at $2k per day. To get a decent interest rate you have to increase your balance by $2k per month, so if you have $ 80k invested it will take you 40 days to get your money out and you get next to no interest during that time. Absolute joke. So I got my Super fund to withdraw the full amount and Me bank blocked the withdrawal, which is illegal. When I first set up the account I tried to call them about the withdrawal limit and they actually told me I would have to wait 4 hours on hold. And you can't email them. Is that total bulls..t or what. NEVER DEAL WITH THIS BANK. THEY ARE CORRUPT, CRIMINAL, UNETHICAL, JUST PLAIN NASTY PREDATOES AND PARASITES!!!
No customer service, ME bank make no frills homeloans feel cheap and nasty!
Refinanced with me bank they seemed to have slipped out of a $4000 cash back on some technicality that no one could clearly explain or ultimately didn't care too. I have never experienced worse customer service from a bank and their website is clunky and devoid of information.I recommend you stay well clear of me bank.
40 mins on line no answer
40 mins on line no answer. They should use call back service like other companies with low cost if they really need to improve customer service.
Where to start?
Where to start? My personal experience:
Customer service consultants seem poorly trained and don't seem to have a clue what they're doing. When they give incorrect advice, they wont own their mistake, instead they'll blame the new consultants that they've recently hired.
They'll keep you on hold for over two hours and not apologise for it. They'll promise to call you back about a complaint, but never do. There are constant weekend outages for so called maintenance or upgrades, but nothing seems to change or get better.
Honestly, I have zero positive to say about this bank. One star is too much.
Once was great
Once was great, but now there is no care factor for customers who want to support an Australian bank, but lack of communication and service will mean I will have to leave ME Bank after many long years
Service has never been a strong point…
Service has never been a strong point of this bank even when they were owned by unions and industry super funds. Interestingly, they were found guilty of criminal conduct in their home loan business - Google them and see. Trying to contact them will usually involve a half hour wait. Dealing with them has never been a pleasure. They are in no way better than any of the Big 4 - probably worse
Used to be a good bank, not anymore
Customer service is now a joke. After purchasing a gift card, I got a message that my card was being blocked. I rang and confirmed that I had made the purchase and was assured my card would become active again. Was embarrassed that my card was declined. I got a second message from them stating my card was declined. I wrote to them to tell them of my disappointment, now they have cancelled my card altogether. I have no problem buying gift card with my other banks. Avoid.
I waited on line for over 30 minutes…
I waited on line for over 30 minutes was talking to operator only to be told I have transfer you to someone else and then get put on hold for over 50 minutes... I eventually hung up.... are you serious about wanting to keep your business alive as you just lost another customer who has been with you for many years.
Customer service experience
Customer service experience
ME Bank offer great interest rate for savings accounts. I was hesitant to join since seeing poor reviews for customer service. I called up during the sign up process for a joint account, and I was put through to a customer service rep in less than a minute and my problem was solved instantly. Great experience so far with easy to use app interface and straightforward user experience. Don't let the poor reviews turn you off, do your own investigations and give them a call if you are unsure. This isn't sponsored, I'm just happy to support an Australian bank.
The worst bank ever
The worst bank ever, they always double dip your account when transactions are already paid and left as pending and then they take it a second time a week later when the transactions become finalized. Then they won't reimburse your account for the double dip of funds. Also refuse to allow you to overdraft your account when you have funds incoming nor will they fast track incoming deposits. Will be closing this account after this money clears in the account. Maggots
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. The worst customer service you will ever experience. Just a horrible, horrible company to do business with. The advertisements in the cinemas look nice but they provide absolutely no service.
A question that should've taken 5 minutes to sort out took over 6 hours to resolve. Over 30 minutes on the phone to speak to someone, I'll just transfer you, over 30 minutes on hold and then the line was cut off. So frustrating.
I do not care for any condescending automated response from them. Their service is abysmal.
Avoid MEBank
Absolutely terrible experiences with this bank. The Chat function is disgraceful. You don’t actually chat…..you post a question…..someone comes back with a far from detailed answer after a hour or more at times…..but then leaves before you can get clarification. Next person comes to the chat and gives an entirely different answer or an equally poor answer. I started a chat with a simple question at 10:39am and still hadn’t received a definite answer by 5pm that afternoon. The criteria for the Bonus Interest HomeMe account is so complicated and confusing that I missed out on it 2 months in a row. I am good with money and these types of accounts normally but not only could I not work out how to meet the criteria but the ‘so called customer service officers‘ in the ‘so called’ chat couldn’t either giving me 3 completely different responses about why I had not received the Bonus Interest or how to ensure I meet it for the following month. I have taken my money elsewhere. Take my advice and avoid this bank and their HomeMe account!!!
Refunded me after a terrible airline experience
I lost more than $2000 when an international airline improperly denied my partner boarding and refused to refund.
As soon as I realised the airline was not going to play ball, I immediately put through a transaction dispute with ME Bank. While the process took more than 6 months because they didn't have chargeback rights, I looked at my account one morning and found they had procured me a full refund anyway.
I am so grateful to have them on my side and they've really turned around what was one of the most stressful times of my life. As a bonus, they're really good at passing on interest rate rises to savings accounts and I've always found their phone help to be punctual and friendly :) Love 'em and will stick with them for a long time to come.
Can not trust this bank
Can not trust this bank.
Alot of conditions and systems that aren't set up to cope.
2 hour plus phone wait times.
An Australian call center is great.
Used to be a great bank
Used to be a great bank. Now they are worse than useless. I have been trying to sort out a simple error they have made for almost 6 months. They ignore my messages and don't answer the phone, I just get.put endlessly on hold (I am overseas so calls are expensive too).
I need the summary documents for tax…
I need the summary documents for tax purposes following the loan refinancing. Unfortunately, the customer service representative didn't provide this information prior to the refinancing, and now claims it's my responsibility to request it. I was unaware of this requirement beforehand. Despite assurances, the promised documents have not been delivered even after a week."
used to be good bank now rubbish
used to be good bank now they are useless, been a customer for years and doing a simple refinance that even a child could do seems to be impossible for ME bank, constantly messing this up, not sending on information as to how its going, taking 3 times as long to process paperwork, failing to even then complete said paperwork, many phone calls from me and my broker and they still cant fix a simple request, what a joke of a bank. even as i write this i am on hold again for another 30mins trying to again fix this simple refinance, a kindy class could do this simple maths and refinance
DONT go anywhere near this bank
DONT go anywhere near this bank. They are ok, when things are going well, however, if something goes wrong, they will not help. In Nov 23, i know we were going to be late with one mortgage payment, so called to get changed. This went well, payment was made one week late. However in Dec 23, they had scheduled and taken 2 monthly repayments without notifying us. When i called to get it sorted, i came up against a brick wall. Not helpful at all, they said, nothing they could do, and didn't care.
This is an issue that they made, that we are suffering for.
Generally payments from ME back are very slow, can take days to go through. Will be refinancing ASAP.
