Project London

I attended Project London and would recommend this to anyone interested in a career in medicine. The simulations were very fun and gave you an insight into the role of a doctor. The sessions to help with your personal statement were very useful as were the mock MMIs. I had a great week and met so many lovely people.

I think that the medical project was…fantastic!

I think that the medical project was amazing!!! Not only did I learn a plethora of information related to medicine such as cannulation, ABCDE, etc, but I was able to make amazing friends as well as consolidate my understanding on how to write and formulate a personal statement. Furthermore, by talking to a number of medical students, I got most of my questions answered that confused me. Additionally, I think this project gave me insight on the challenges and importances that will be faced in medicine. For instance, the importance of teamwork and the leader delegating roles. I really thank all the staff and students for making this experience "one-in-a-lifetime" filled with fun, hilarious, insightful, and educational moments!

One point of improvement, however, is to diversify the evening meals. For example, incorporate foods other than fried food, peas, and fries (which is rather unhealthy).

Project London (Medical Projects)

Project London was an incredible experience that I shall not forget. Throughout the duration of this project not only did I learn about the skills and attributes being a doctor necessitates, but I also forged Long-lasting and meaningful friendships. I would recommend this course to all students - regardless of whether or not you are sure you want to study medicine (I used this course as a means to determine whether I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare). This course helped equip me with the confidence and know-how to apply to Med schools and hopefully eventually become a healthcare professional. Lastly, a big thank you to Shannon and Dr. Lucy who made this an unforgettable week!

Medical Projects London

Medical Projects London was an amazing experience.
The medical students, doctors and every person organising this trip were super caring and helpful. The premed students in the trip were also really nice.
The combination of theory and practice was amazing, and there was enough free time for us to enjoy the week in a non-medical way too. I definitely learned a lot and I recommend this experience to any student interested in medicine, and specifically for those considering UK applications.

The best preparation project I have…

The best preparation project I have ever attended. Opportunity to be in one of the hospital in London doing simulations or talking with other medical students and doctors is invaluable. I am more than glad taking part in it. Fully recommended!

This was a very good experience

This was a very good experience. I met new people from very different places, learned a lot and had fun in the process. The monitors and teachers were always available to answer questions and were always very nice and kind.
I learned about medical processes such as cannulation, suturing, measuring blood pressure using a stethoscope, and how to perform CPR. We also learned about how it was like to be a doctor and about several diseases, how to diagnose them, and how to treat them, which we practiced in simulations. Examples of these diseases were heart attack, asthma, pneumonia, pneumothorax, dementia, depression, and sepsis.
Even though we learned a lot, everything was very fun and interesting. In addition we had some free time and a scavenger hunt to explore the city.

Medical projects helped me understand…

Medical projects helped me understand what it's like to be a doctor, how to act in a chaotic environment and work with other 'doctors' to provide better patient care. The staff also helped us with university applications and medical interviews to help us prepare for our future. Dr. Lucy helped us understand what university life is like and how you can still make time for yourself and others. I never knew that looking into every aspect of a university would be so important in deciding which one I want, but this week brought me to that realization. I am very grateful for this week and for the medical projects team in helping all of us enjoy our time in London.

Medical Projects, best week ever!

I had a really great time experiencing new settings and gaining new practical knowledge that I hope to apply in the future.

Every day there was always something to look forward to, not only for medical related things but also, fun activities that I got to share with many great people that I've become really close friends with. It was unforgettable and although I was exhausted at the end of every day, I was always craving more and hoping that the week stretches on for as long as possible.

I've learned many things, such as, how to give good CPR, Intubation, how to do cannulas, sutures, intraosseous, how to tackle an interview to get into medical school etc. I also learned many other things aside from medical knowledge, for example, I now know how to navigate myself in the underground/tube, how to work as a team, communicate, think independently etc.

I've learned many things just from this week-long experience, which I'm so grateful for but also wonder how much more I would've learned and experienced if this were to stretch out longer.

Overall, it was so insightful, so much fun and as comfortable as it gets when you're away from home, all thanks to the helpful and very lovely staff, which only added more to the experience. If I could do it all over again, I would do so in a heartbeat!

Great experience for my 2 daughters

When my eldest daughter decided that she wanted to study medicine, I was worried as I could not help her because we do not have any medical doctor in my family nor did I have any medical doctor friend. Then I heard about medical projects and gave them a try. Her experience with them was so impressive in not only helping her check whether it was a profession for her, it also prepared her for the application process for the UK medical schools and how to prepare for interviews. In fact my daughter came back from the two project experiences (London and Transylvania) more convinced it was the profession for her and she ended up becoming the only student in her school that got three medical school offers from the three UK medical schools she applied to. Although she still needs to pass her exams to secure the admission, the medical projects experience set her well on the way for what she has achieved so far. My second daughter has also decided to study medicine and she has already done one week of the project London and loved it, just like her sister. She has also been enrolled for project Kilimanjaro. My family is definitely grateful to the Medical Projects team. Absolute value for money.

100% recommendation

The experience was amazing, I am so grateful that I had the chance to be there, meeting people all over the world and most importantly that now I have a complete view of the life of medical students. The lessons given were very interesting and useful, simulations were stressful but they gave us a deep understanding of the real situations that we will meet in the future and we are now more prepared and responsible. The mock interviews and feedbacks were really useful as well, students can take the advice given and prepare themselves better. The stuffs are kind and friendly, they are always there to help whenever you need them. The friends I made there are the sweetest people in the entire world, we are more like a family. I appreciate it so much.

I wish I could do it again

Medical Projects was one of the best weeks of my life. If you want to do Medicine, or are even considering it, this experience is unmissable - unlike anything you can get anywhere else. I made friendships with the kindest people on Earth and learned so many crucial skills for Med school. I'll never forget that week. A definite 5/5!
