Melio took my money to make international payments. The payments failed because "We’re making updates to our systems as we secure state money transmission licenses. To support these changes, we’re transitioning to a new provider for international payments.
As a result of this, international payments will be temporarily paused. You can still use Bill Pay for domestic payments without interruption.
We understand this may impact your business, and we’re working diligently to restore the service as soon as possible. We’ll notify you promptly when international payments are back up and running".
However, they don't disclose this when you attempt to make the payment. It just defaults to domestic ACH (which is impossible). They say they will refund my money in 3-5 business days. This is unethical if not fraudulent business practices.

My business received an email today from this billing service. It was an emailed invoice from a construction company that we have never done business with. I phoned Triton Construction and no one answered the phone there. I then went to the Melio web site to find a C/S phone #. No phone #. They wanted me to chat or email but I had to login 1st. Not interested and not a customer. Now I will never be a customer. The email to us was in error or is was some nefarious email. I was not going to open the attached PDF perported invoice. No C/S with Melio either. Alot of unecessary work for me when someone just taking my phone call and directing me the correct dept. would have cleared this up in five minutes. Word to the wise ......do not use the services of Meliopayments.com

We used Bill.com for several years and then, one month ago, switched to MelioPayments.com. If I hadn't pressed all our current vendors to use MelioPayments, I would now switch back to Bill.com. As it stands, I'm paying for both Bill.com and MelioPayments, to avoid even greater problems with our A/P and payments. I'm trying to be fair by awarding two stars, since the basic payment functionality works, but I would warn others considering Melio to look elsewhere. Maybe someday MelioPayments will be a serious alternative to Bill.com, but not today (May 6, 2025).
Our biggest problem is that we use Xero for accounting. Where Bill.com *always* properly synced with Xero, MelioPayments has literally *never* synced properly, and *always* synced improperly -- syncing new Xero *customers* by creating *vendors* in Melio, failing *completely* to sync either bills or payments to Xero, and failing to match vendor records even with identical company names. I've been doing manual re-entry in Xero of every AP transaction since we started. I've provided lots of specifics to Melio support, but there is "no estimated date for resolution" of these pretty obvious bugs.
Unfortunately there are more problems: When inbound emails arrive at the email address Melio created for our company, Melio tries to read these to create bills -- and screws up nearly every time, creating bogus bills for unrelated attachments and for in-email comments, and failing to accurately scan actual bills. To create or process a bill in Melio, we need to enter a Xero account -- but Melio *ignores* account numbers from Xero, and does a very poor job trying to match *account names/descriptions*. I've spent extra time on every single transaction trying to search for and match to the right Xero account, even when I know exactly what it is.
MelioPayments has friendly and responsive support -- unfortunately they have never actually succeeded in resolving any problem. We had a problem where a vendor responded to a Melio request for ACH information, made an entry mistake, asked Melio to help them fix it ... a week later, Melio had done nothing, the payment had failed, and the funds were "automatically" sent back to us, with more than *2 weeks* elapsing from the time we sent the payment to the time when we got the funds back -- only to send them again immediately to our vendor.
I had really hoped for MelioPayments to work for us. But now I regret making the move to MelioPayments, and I cannot recommend it to others.

Landry was incredibly helpful. I paid an invoice but by the time you went to collect your fees, another charge came in on my card causing the charge for your fees to be declined. Landry walked me through the process and was able to get my payment through and the processing fees charged. He was very patient, knowledgeable and understanding. Appreciate the EXCELLENT customer service very much. You are fortunate to have Landry in your employ.

Melio is very good service. Although I wish they had a customer service line, it is good that their chat representatives are helpful. I had the pleasure of being assisted by Isabel and she was able to help me stop a payment before it was processed.
