Shocking service

Shocking service
I bought the GLC from Inchcape Coventry in May as a brand new vehicle
By September I has 2 breakdowns needing to call breakdown cover. When I requested some one to look at it, I was given a date 8 weeks later. I then took it to them and I was asked to come and collect the vehicle by 6.
I went at 4:45 and I was just shoved a piece of paper that says
RECALL - System validation (80 A fuse) (*8297011*, 24P8297011)
• KDM_WA - Update N73 electronic ignition lock control unit software (*5499115*, 24P5499115)
None of this means nothing to me
Shauna Shanley who looked at the car never bothered to come and explain this to me.
The vehicle health check was sent via text only after I went to collect the vehicle.
The email they sent me stated that Shauna would be happy to answer any questions. I was in the showroom for almost an hour and Shauna never had the decency to come and talk to me to explain what was wrong with the vehicle.
Ultimately the manager has to come and speak to me and even he couldn’t figure out what that mechanical jargon meant. According to him there was some sort of recall which Mercedes never bothered to inform me until I broke down.
What pathetic service!!!!
I have never regretted buying a vehicle as much as buying this one

Mercedes Benz Roadside Assistance is rubbish

Mercedes benz roadside assistance for non-members. It's rubbish.Car broke down, unable to be fixed by local garage so called Mercedes-Benz roadside assistance. I explained my father was elderly and it would be difficult to wait. The call centre person said that was fine as the mechanic would text 20 minutes beforehand. The mechanic texted, and we rushed over in a taxi. An hour later we're still waiting. I call the dispatch centre to be told the mechanic turned back, because those covered by roadside assistance take priority over us. They expected us to wait another 2-4 hours, unless we settled for a none mercedes benz mechanic - the whole point of calling them was to have a Mercedes Benz mechanic. Completely inconsiderate.

Hertford Mercedes

Been using Mercedes of Hertford for years and always find them helpful and polite. They pick up my car for a service and return it as well and the driver is always helpful and polite calling you before and after pickup and drop off. From the reception staff to salespeople I haven’t had any problems

Worst service ever

Worst service ever. I’ve been on the phone to the parts department all morning. They are just doing nothing and sat down all day!! I have rang at least 5 times now and they have not picked up the phone, they’ve put me on hold for at least half an hour. I didn’t expect their service to be terrible as I’m only trying to get my hands on front brake pads for my car. I’ll be taking my business somewhere else, I do not recommend this company at all! If I could give zero stars then I would so you should consider yourself lucky that you got one star lol.

Appalling Service

What an appalling service from Mercedes…

My Mercedes S500 [2022 model] would not start [fault with the starter battery]. I called Mercedes Roadside at around 19:00.At around 20:30 they called to say that their ETA would be 01:25 [which is ridiculous].

Is this what they call a roadside service?

purchased a Mercedes Gla from Mercedes…

purchased a Mercedes Gla from Mercedes Coventry in July 24.
When I test drove the car every fault that was found the sales person Hasan advised this will be put right.

The service is absolutely incompetent and not met to standards.

The vehicle was bought in good faith and I was advised all work that needed to be would be completed however on the day I went to pick up the vehicle this was not the case and I was left waiting 3 hours just to pick up the vehicle on the day.
Matt firstly done the paperwork and then took me to the vehicle. This I call a sales tactic.
The car was covered with white polish and the plastic wheel arches above the tyres were not even fitted properly.
The black trimming around the car had all white polish.
Looked like a back street garage had valeted the car.
The sales person Matt who was assisting me was going in and out with the polish and cloth to clean the car while I sat there watching him.

Since then I have no end of problems with the car week by week with tyre pressure going down once a week, front sensors not beeping and rattling panoramic sunroof.
They have picked up my car twice now to rectify issues and driven my car more than myself clocking up milage. Driving it from my location to Coventry which is 30 miles there and 30 miles back.
Even though you tell them you do not require a courtesy car they are very persistent that you need to have one Surely this should be a customer choice not theirs.
My vehicle is a 2019 Mercedes Gla the panoramic roof rattles when driving their service team checked this and found no fault. How ridiculous. You can clearly hear the noise when your driving the car.
It's like your dealing with a back street garage that fobs you off.
Mercedes strive to deliver excellent service not in this case with this branch they provide awful service and cause nothing but stress to the customer.

The team leader Hasan and senior manager Arjun are useless they have no customer care skills. Clearly there is training issues.
They make the customer feel at fault and cause the customer stress.
I have sent this company 34 emails going back and forth but they do not care.
I made numerous telephone calls but again got nowhere.
Once this company have your money they really don't care about the customer.
This branch has caused me nothing but stress.

They sell a cover which they promote as smart guard warranty however this is a car care plan which they sell as 3rd party but they don't make the customer aware of this. Mis selling it as smart guard warranty. I did not receive paperwork as a direct debit was taken I looked at the company and contacted them they were called car care plan ltd.

If you are considering buying a mercedes vehicle do not use this branch they will over promise but under deliver.

The wording of complaint is something this branch does not does understand or take seriously.

Just a word of advice inspect the car on the day of pick up and if you are happy with everything then go ahead with the paperwork, do not do the paperwork before you see the vehicle otherwise you can incur problems like I did.
On the day of negotiations if you like the car and decide to go ahead with it they will ask you to do a goggle review so they can look like a reputable company, again word of advice do not post a goggle review until you pick up your vehicle, where you are happy or not post a review at this point. At least this will show a true reflection of how to branch is treating customers.

This branch seriously needs to be investigated.

Mercedes Winchester

Mercedes Winchester
I had a notice on my A class hybrid stating that the break assist wasn't working properly.

I popped in to my local garage where I bought the car 2 years earlier, to ask if I could do something to rectify it.

I asked the receptionist if I could speak to someone briefly about it. No one here she says. Assuming she wasn't manning the whole showroom herself. I asked her if anyone could advise. At this point and with obvious effort, she tumbles off her chair rolling her eyes in annoyance and speaks to someone. She came back and I asked if I could speak to that person she had spoken to. More huffs and puffs and deliberate foot plodding. A man arrives who explained it wouldn't be dangerous and that they'd phone me Tues after the bank holiday.

MESSAGE TO MANAGEMENT
Make sure your receptionists are trained in basic (at least) customer service. Rolling your eyes at customer after one question, is not.
The result was the same (no help available) but how I was treated as a customer was very different.

Lack of customer service and communication

I took my Mercedes Benz C to my local garage for its MOT and it failed on a corroded and seriously weakened sub-frame.
I was made aware that the make and model of my car should have been recalled, as it's an ongoing fault in them.
I had received no recall letter or been sent any information on this major safety issue.

When I contacted Mercedes in Bristol, they told me they might not fix it for free, even though it was a Mercedes fault.
I got to Mercedes and left my car to be checked, I was told that head office would have to state whether they would fix the fault for free. While there I asked a service assistant why I wasn’t made aware of this fault, to which I was told that they don’t tell everyone as people would then break their own sub-frame just to get new one!!! (Even though the frame corrodes from the inside out , so not sure how this is possible!)
I was in complete shock as I have been driving my children around in a car that was unsafe and wasn’t made aware of this major safety fault because of that !
It was booked in for 11.30 and by 5pm I still hadn’t heard anything.
I had to ring them, which I was then told they would fix it but could be up to 6 weeks for the part, but would ring me on Monday to let me know.
Yet again no phone call!
Had to chase it up again, thankfully not 6 weeks, but shocked at the treatment and lack of understanding and empathy of a situation that could have been much worse.

Shocking customer service. I have written a complaint to head office and have had one email back in over a week saying they will look into, but yet again no further contact.

Saying I need a diagnosis (with fee) for them to diagnose a fault, that they already reset previously.

Took my car in for service (stoke), when they had finished, I went to start my car, and I noticed the engine management light on (it wasn't there when I arrived (although I knew there was an intermittent fault that appears then goes).

I went and told them about it, and they said they'll take a look. A guy came back out, and tried to imply that it WAS already there when I dropped the car off due to the fault log being the same when it appeared, but this could still mean they triggered the fault that I knew was there previously.

But that itself wasn't the issue, my issue is that they cleared the fault, when I asked what the fault was, I was told I needed to pay £200+ for them to diagnose it?? Surely they already saw the fault on the OBD metre in order to reset it? But they still wanted me to pay for them to diagnose it.
I thought this was a clear money making scam.
I'm already paying a monthly service and MOT subscription and they still tried to take more money for something they already knew about. Terrible service

Mercedes-Benz of Cambridge is the worse…

Mercedes-Benz of Cambridge is the worse I have seen anywhere. I have been driving S Class Mercedes Benz cars since 1990 in 3 different countries and found the Cambridge service centre a bit like British Rail. They sent the car back dirty and with the engine management light on. They did not bother phoning me about the tyres but told me when I went to collect the car and told me I would need to wait a month to get a slot to have the tyres replaced. Would not you phone and say that the engine managment light is on and run a test to find out why when you know the customer has an MOT due???

The only thing they seemed fixated with was that I allegedly needed 2 new tyres. I thought it was odd as the tyres had been changed just 2000 miles before. When I went to the local tyre shop, (to avoid a one month wait to get tyres via Cambridge Mercedes) I was told there was absolutely nothing wrong with the tyres.

Cambridge Mercedes also did not have the pollution testing equipment to carry out an MOT and phoned me at 7pm the night before to tell me that they would not be carrying out any MOT. After Cambridge Mercedes did a service (the A service) on the car, and forced me to find some other place to get the MOT done (the car only has 25000 miles on it), I was told by the independent MOT mechanic Cambridge Mercedes had missed a small fuel leak from a faulty pipe and that the door hinges had not been serviced on the car.

Long waits, really bad service, and no space to park your car safely. I was trapped for 20 minutes when I went to collect my car because the service people brought my car around to the front and parked it in a tiny space where it was soon blocked in by other cars, which it took them 20 minutes to move. Some centres walk you to your car, if you have an S Class or Maybach.

Another downside is that at the Mercedes Centres elsewhere they come and collect your car and drop it off to your house, if you are on the service plan--but Cambridge Mercedes just say they are short staffed. No cold drinks and cheap coffee.

Absolutely a joke of a place given that people are paying between 100k and 200k for an S Class. The Sydney and California Mercedes Centres are vastly superior. If one has been to a really good service centre, they see the difference in one that is really badly run.

Mercedes-Benz of Cambridge needs a full audit from Mercedes head office, it is relying on a monopoly and people not wanting to drive miles to find a decent Mercedes service centre. That it takes 30 minutes to collect a car is also a joke. The place is a complete shambles with rude and rough looking staff.

I will drive to another city from now on even if it is a 2 hour drive, there is no way I will ever take the car back to the Cambridge centre.

My 2012 Mercedes is great.

I bought a 2012 Mercedes C class when it was 3 years old and it had 40k miles on the clock. It is awesome. It’s now got 158k on the clock and it’s still going strong. I keep thinking should I swap to a newer car… but why? Mercedes Stockton are expensive but helpful, so I use a local car mechanic for repairs. We have been so impressed we own 3 Mercedes in our family now, all bought used…

Mercedes Benz of Temple Fortune Service is TERRIBLE
I want to add about the service Mercedes Benz of Temple Fortune (London) . In 3 years I did twice service with them and once at Chelsea. Disappointing when there was a problem with the wheel sensor last year. After going to the dealer with problems I paid more than £800. Two months later, the same problem persisted. I tried to note them, but they were silent. The problem go away, then reappear. Finally in the spring, I applied to Temple Fortune to fix my car, which the previous problem had not done. This time they did nothing, but I had to pay £222 for the investigation. In the end, I found a reliable private garage and the problem was solved. I paid £7 for the wheel sensor and £20 for the works. A total of £27. Now It's been 3 months and no problem. For example MB of Temple Fortune this problem not solved and cost over £1200. By the way. I did the car maintenance service that I used before at the MB dealer. Service cost £300 including all filters and labour. MB already asked for £1000 for the same service!
I should also add that when changing all the filters, the mechanic of the private garage showed what the old filters looked like, which were supposedly changed a year ago.. They only changed oil filters and oil in those 3 years. The fuel and air filters have not been changed since the beginning of the car registration.
Money for nothing.
Do not trust auto centers.
NEVER

Appalling service from Mercedes UK

Appalling service from Mercedes UK. We have a 3yr old GLE and the rear shock absorbers failed under 30k miles. Mercedes UK made us wait with a vehicle that should have been OTR almost 12 weeks for parts they are still fitting daily in mass production. Totally unacceptable customer service from a brand they believe is premium.

Don’t buy a Mercedes poor quality made to look good !
Security systems are pathetic thieves steal these easily. Expensive to repair like really expensive. Sterile ride boring to drive. Customer service awlful as well which was a surprise. Sorry to be so negative but everything was painful until the point it was stolen off the drive with ease by thieves. At least I can move on to another brand now.

Avoid Mercedes with AdBlue system that are costly to repair

The AdBlue system has a fault that was diagnosed by to independent garages, however they were unable to reset the fault, despite the AdBlue being topped up so recommended going to my local Mercedes dealership in Solihull. On booking the appointment I was told the engine diagnostics test would cost £175. Though not happy, as I already had the fault codes, I thought at least they should be able to confirm the fault codes a provide a solution. After he first hour I was told they still didn't know what the fault was and it would require another 2 hours and addition cost of £350! This wouldn't guarantee that they would find and be able to fix the fault. I refused to pay and have brought the car home. Very frustrated with the lack of knowledge and professionalism shown by this dealership.
