Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 107 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall due to widespread service shortcomings. People frequently reported frustrating encounters with unhelpful customer support, unresponsive local dealerships, and exceptionally long waiting times for necessary vehicle repairs and ongoing maintenance. Many consumers also strongly complained about excessively high prices for replacement parts and labour, alongside frequent unexpected mechanical failures occurring shortly after purchase. Some reviewers were happy with the helpful, polite, and welcoming staff members encountered at specific local branch locations. A few other people also praised the professional guidance and efficient assistance received during routine maintenance appointments and successful minor vehicle fixes.

Avoid to buy this brand in UK if you look for good CS

The repair service was done by Mercedes Watford and I was dealing with with a staff call Amna Al Saffer , she confirmed my payment for repair was £20XX . After I got back my car with repaired on last Thursday and I didn’t get the invoice from them at that time . I had called many times there on last Friday and Saturday but couldn’t find any one I could talk to or returned even I left my message .

Finally , I got the invoice from them on Monday through email without any apologies for delay.
Sadly , I have found the amount of the invoice was £13XX which is difference from what I paid for (£20XX )!! I have to call back there again and there is the same situation for no one can talke to or returned even I left my message many times !

I still wait for it !!

Avoid Mercedes Stratford

Avoid Mercedes Stratford – Paintwork Damaged & Rude Manager!

I took my car to Mercedes Stratford for a routine service, expecting professionalism and care. Instead, they damaged my paintwork due to their reckless cleaning process!

My car had dirt from snow salt and sand, but instead of properly washing it, they carelessly wiped it down, spreading abrasive particles all over the paint. This resulted in micro-scratches across the entire surface.

When I raised my concerns, Dan Raubu, the manager, was extremely rude and unprofessional. Rather than addressing the issue, he refused to take responsibility and blamed me, saying I should have checked the car before leaving. Apparently, customers are expected to bring a light torch and a magnifying loupe to inspect their own car on-site—ridiculous!

I trusted Mercedes-Benz for high-quality service, but this experience has been beyond disappointing. If they take responsibility and properly treat and fix the damaged paintwork, I will be happy to remove this review. Until then, I strongly advise against using Mercedes Stratford for servicing—if you care about your car, take it elsewhere!

Worst experience at Mercedes Lakeside.

Worst experience at Mercedes Lakeside.
Unfortunately this keeps happening every time we go there and unfortunately until now we had no other option because we are driving a Mercedes.

We took our car to them for a turbo replacement under warranty, and we were told it would be ready in 2 days which seemed a lot anyway.

Just to mention, this was not an emergency appointment, it was booked at their convenience, and the car had no symptoms apart from a very low whistle.

Obviously, a courtesy car was not an option as there are no cars available, so don't expect one.

Today we tried to call all day but no one answers their phones (as I mentioned before only the sales line works and the sales employees, I already know, can't help with after care and can't transfer you to anyone else).

In the afternoon we found out that it's not going to be ready until the beginning of next week, even though there is no extra work the car needs apart from replacing the turbo.

Everywhere, it says that a turbo requires 3-4 hours to be replaced, and worst case scenario 8 hours of work.

They had the car for 2 days already, and they still need the 3rd and 4th and 5th probably. Who knows how many?!

We don't know how this can happen, but we were told that all the engine needs to come down in order to replace the turbo, just because of 2 screws. Even so, if we think of the worst case scenario of 8 hours the car should have been repaired by now.

We find it unbelievable that the technician could only get to this conclusion after 2 days of work on the car.

This means he either doesn't know what he is doing, never replaced a turbo on an E class before and then how can I trust him to take the engine down and to put it back together, either... and here we are still waiting for an answer from Mercedes, as none of the managers were still at work at 3pm on a Thursday.

Apart from not having a car for nearly a week and having to pay and book and wait for taxis, we need to part exchange this car probably Monday which obviously it's not going to happen now.

I am very glad to say that I am moving on and absolutely convinced I will never buy another Mercedes again.

We are reasonable and understanding people, but this is more than upsetting.

David Cuell is an asset to the company (Croydon Branch)

I had an excellent experience with Mercedes in Croydon. This is my second time returning to this branch to purchase a car on PCP, and from start to finish, the team has been incredibly helpful. I’d especially like to give a huge shoutout to David Cuell, who explained everything in detail and kept communication clear and consistent. When I collected my new car, it was covered with a sheet and had a big red bow on the bonnet. The whole team welcomed me with applause, which was a nice touch. David is not only friendly but also a real asset to the company. Because of this, I’ll definitely return, and if I could, I’d give him 10 stars! Thank you so much, David!

Absolutely shameful attitude of Mercedes

Absolutely shameful attitude of Mercedes ( both Northampton & Milton Keynes branches). Didn't want to listen, were not flexible at all, we came to buy a family car using PCP or any other finance options, were not explained properly what they are ( we are considering hire as well), but was applied without deposit, hard credit check landed , but was declined with no reason ( excellent credit history, high income, no debt, own business etc., but have another PCP, which we will give away and replace, but nobody listened to this, we can't be without a car having two disabled children and daily school runs). When contacted and asked about further options, was just told a "no" for absolutely no reason for it ( they said there must be a reason, but there isn't !!!!). Both branches showed neglect and didn't want to deal with a sort of a "complex case", promised to call and talk through and never called etc. When I tried to call and explain situation , advisor sounded not bothered at all and just said "nothing to do with me". I understand conversations are recorded, so just want to leave this review also here, I understand it's not just us with a bad experience. Such a shame, as we really want to buy/purchase a car from Mercedes and we can fully afford monthly payments etc, but lack of customer care stops us from it. You should be ashamed of this attitude, calling yourselves such a "big brand"!!

Never buy a new Mercedes

Never buy a new Mercedes

The dealers are not really dealers in the traditional sense, they are only agents who connect you to Mercedes UK who you buy off direct, no different to if you bought the car online. If anything goes wrong the 'dealer' is powerless to help you. You have to deal direct with Mercedes Customer Services and Mercedes Finance.

We bought a brand new a250e in September that broke down in December while I was miles away from home and the car had to be recovered to another dealer. The part, a PTC heater, which apparently immobilises the car when it fails, has taken nearly 2 months to arrive (due to it being on back order as they obviously don't hold enough spare parts for their cars) and now at the end of January we still don't have our car back. Even the service manager at the repairing dealer agreed with me that it was unacceptable and we should reject the car.

The interim period has been an absolute nightmare of being refered backwards and forwards between 2 different dealerships, Mercedes Finance and Mercedes Customer Services, with mixed messages and incorrect information being provided on multiple occasions from many different people within their organisation. It is left to you to have to deal with this as they will not co-ordinate anything for you (like a traditional dealer would)

We have tried to reject the car, but Mercedes Finance came back (after 6 weeks of waiting) and simply hid behind the consumer rights act saying that they were allowed to repair the car and did not consider 2 months to be an excessive time. They have refused our rejection and if we don't like it then we have no alternative but to simply complain to the ombudsman.

The amount of compensation they have offered is an insult and does not even cover our finance payments.

I can say without any hesitation that I have never had the misfortune of dealing with such a disorganised, heartless organisation who really don't care a jot about their customers. All of the 'focus on customer' that you experience in the dealership as a potential customer evaporates once you have to deal with their faceless call centres after you have bought the car.

Without a doubt I will never, ever buy from this organisation ever again.

Purchased a brand new A220amg from…

Purchased a brand new A220amg from lookers at Tonbridge Kent. Nothing but problems with the car with serious safety issues with the automatic transmission. We have started a car rejection with mercedes and Lookers. Service department at Lookers just keeps saying there is nothing wrong with car despite us providing evidence. Sales Manager despite requests does not call us back.
We would seriously advise anyone thinking of buying a A class to think again and to certainly avoid Lookers in Tonbridge.

Bought a Mercedes from the Sunderland…

Bought a Mercedes from the Sunderland branch. Salesman gave me a great review of the model and how reliable it was. Sadly 4 months out of my warranty cover the engine management light came on. Very disappointed after almost paying £30,000.00 with very little consolation from the service manager. Won't be buying a Mercedes again after having to pay £600 + to have it repaired by another company,

Avoid buying this trash

Avoid buying this trash, a lot of error codes will come up every a few weeks even if it’s brand new car. EML come up with telling the exact issue. Adblue issues. Noises coming from wheels and the front of the car. Will be trapped to dealership who take hours and hours to diagnose the issue and at the end of the day they will not find the issue and it can’t be fixed. Fixing it costs you more than the car price

Approved Used - Do not waste your money.

I purchased a Mercedes Approved Used vehicle expecting peace of mind and quality service, but my experience has been anything but. Shortly after purchase, I found the flywheel housing was damaged, leaking oil and causing shrapnel to contaminate the clutch. While the clutch itself was in good condition, I was charged for its replacement because the Approved Used Warranty does not cover parts like the clutch, even when the replacement is directly caused by the failure of a covered part like the flywheel housing.

This feels like a major oversight in the warranty policy and has left me questioning the value of the Mercedes Approved Used scheme. If you’re considering a Mercedes Approved Used vehicle, I recommend exploring non-approved used options or checking out alternatives like BMW or Audi, where the warranty and customer service might better reflect the premium branding. I certainly will not be purchasing another Mercedes in the future.

Very disappointed and would not recommend.

Fantastic service from Mercedes Harrogate

I am shocked to see such poor reviews on here from other branches, as the Harrogate Mercedes has always been nothing but exceptional! I've had my service done a couple of times now and it was fantastic each time! I had a service done yesterday and Victoria was a pleasure to deal with. She kept me updated throughout, and the car was ready quicker than anticipated.

Victoria was lovely, it was a pleasure dealing with her. It was absolutely torrential when I was picking the car up and she had all the documents and the car ready by the side door, so I could just hop straight in. The car was also washed and hoovered inside, which was an extra bonus! Thank you very much, fantastic service - 5 stars.

Mercedes Benz Plymouth are the best dealership in Devon. Recommend!!

Mercedes Benz Plymouth goes the extra mile to be helpful to Motability customers. After initially visiting Exeter and feeling like an inconvenience, I approached the Plymouth dealership. Fantastic! The exact vehicle I wanted was ordered in the colour of my choice. The gentleman I dealt with called Ty kept me fully informed, and my vehicle was in the showroom within weeks. Nothing was too much trouble, and I was blown away by how good they are. Every single member of the team were both professional and friendly. My vehicle is perfect, so a Big thank you all round.
